As regards to the quality of the test, the Government web site quoted the following ;
‘The government will extend regulations and publish protocol to allow some tests supplied to the private testing market that are pending validation to remain on the market in the short term. This is to address any potential shortage of supply while work continues at pace to ensure only high-performing tests are ultimately approved to remain on the UK market’
We will have to wait and see what ‘ high performing ‘ tests equates to, hopefully Mologic make the list, they should do based on the data we are aware of, ditto it’s high performance stats.
Okehurst1 it should be very clear now that what most would consider selfish and manipulative, Twatcher considers to be savvy
‘Apparently the savvy have figured all you really need is QR code, and with people starting to get fed up, and no checking that you actually bought / took a test, expect many to do the bare minimum’
TW, am hoping you are not one of these so called ‘ savvy ‘ people , it’s illegal if they think they can avoid testing
- I don’t think you are btw
I am not sure ‘ savvy ‘ is the correct description of this type of person
Apart from this action being dangerous to our fellow citizens / vulnerable in society it is also risking the NHS being over run this Winter, I don’t see this as being ‘ savvy ‘
but selfish, personally I think most people in the U.K. think this way - similar to isolating when having a positive test ,In general I think the majority are sensible, ditto when isolating after returning to the U.K. over the summer, the public in general do the right thing, we all have a civic duty to take the test when applicable and abide by the law around the registration of the result.
It appears the Government will insist on the individual filming themselves taking the test and registering their barcode / result/ film to the distributor who is managing the same.
On reflection - taking into account the above - we will have to see how the market prices the auditing of the test results but we can surmise there will be heavy penalties for any selfish people who fraudulently abuse this new system.
"but it is very clear you pump after you buy "
lol :)
thanks for that detailed counter argument.
Its a fact, that a week before thry are even allowed, you can buy a fully validated PD phase3a test for £9. for several days people have been going giddy over retailing vistect @ £20-£30.
That flowflex seller is just the first out the door, expect the price to go lower. in fact provided that the underlying seller is approved, I wouldn't be suprised to see holiday LFTs on eBay. It'll be a chinese rush. And people will be more than happy to buy the bare bones cheapest thing that lets them go on holiday.
The only rush to the bottom that Twatcher is after is the share price so he can buy back in again Monday morning. Until now I had resisted filtering you but it is very clear you pump after you buy and create negative posts when you sell into a slight rise.
Surely odx will be shipping those stockpiled visitect tests out the door all next week. Even CK must be able to sell a test into a non-validated marketplace, given the reason for it being allowed to be non-validated is because there is an apparent shortage. I'm assuming there has to be some regulation on them, otherwise I'll start knocking them out in my garage. ce approval not needed ?
The question that should be being asked of course, is why uk gov didn't select a test months ago and have ODX and Mologic ready with 60-80M fully validated uk made tests, rather than using a lack of tests (of their own making) as a reason for having to resort to a laise faire approach. As the visitect test is not a uk gov soverign test, ODX can not use the gov loan equipment for their own commerical sales...right ?
Taking into consideration that most of the World's governments think the source of the Covid-19 virus "escaped" from a lab in Wuhan, China. And do yo believe that just because our government gave them a multi £B contract that it is safe! Please take a good long look at the (failed) NHS procurement record.
I will make sure that I will not be purchasing anything from China!
"Flowflex are given out free at schools and are made in China! Would you pay for one of these if you wanted a reliable accurate test?"
so its actually fully validated then, if NHS is supplying it. If its good enough for NHS to select it, why would anyone really care. Do you actually expect joe public to do detailed research as to the bona fides or accuracy of a range of tests, then shortlist based on price, or isn't it more reasonable to expect a behaviour of "whats the cheapest way I can go on holiday" People want to spend time picking their destination and hotel etc, an LFT will be selected based on which is the handiest/cheapest that ticks the box.
It's upto the distributer to set their margins for the retail market. Whatever margins they put on the product is upto them. Supply & demand will dictate the suppliers price.
Gas Lighting for sure , isn’t that an illegal criminal act. Beggars belief how low some people go ….. :-0
If flowflex are on the government list for travel good luck to them. @Twatcher @Gary surely as ODX investors you must be hoping that we're on there too?
I'm getting mixed messages. Claim to be big time ODX holders but talk it down constantly. Are you guys GAS LIGHTING?
Flowflex are given out free at schools and are made in China! Would you pay for one of these if you wanted a reliable accurate test?
With uk gov flagging that at the moment they'll pretty much allow any lft test to be used, don't be getting carried away with fanciful ideas of tests retailing at £20-£30 a test.
Still a week before the new policy is in place, and already someone is promoting flowflex for <£9 a pop including delivery
https://www.simplytestme.co.uk/the-test
So who will be next @£8, £7.50 ? Take out delivery, retail and distributor mark-up and these are becoming commodity items. That £4 a go that Innova are charging uk gov is good money in comparison. And once at those prices, there is no way people will be willing to pay £20 for an lft, regardless of how well its validated. If you are heading on holiday, it'll be a tick box exercise, are you going to pay £120 for 4 lfts for the family when you can tick the box for £36 ?
Apparently the savvy have figured all you really need is QR code, and with people starting to get fed up, and no checking that you actually bought / took a test, expect many to do the bare minimum.
