What I previously said simpletons,do you expect instant profit from an investment .Things take time be patient
What fk when he said 2 millions test from April but untill now. There is still no order yes. People are waiting for what company can deliver what they publishes vie official RNS . True is they can't sell single test kit to public .
Many people trap in this share and now loss money if sell and go so they just come here to complain what is company doing now.
It's not one poster though is it,they take it in turn, simpletons
pumpky - it is easier for some to try and blame posters rather than the company and stewardship. If colin could have got it together and sold a test there would not be any negative posts.
no need to talk SP down - colin "can't sell a test in a pandemic" has done a sterling job unless you haven't noticed?
for someone who seems to stalk every post i make - i will repeat again I am here for the gov contract
Margin, margins, margins. You only sell cheap if you have to. Like it or not, these testing companies clearly don't think they have to (sell cheap).
Calderkate;if you think one poster can influence the SP"then we are really in trouble
So why are you still supposedly invested here if you don't think any tests will be sold anywhere,oh yeah trying to talk down the price again
"These companies can only charge exorbitant prices if they’re expecting huge demand"
I am not sure that is true. These companies will try to charge as much as they can regardless of demand - and at the same try to source the cheapest tests possible. this will be chinese tests if they are allowed.
ODX really need to get that gov contract secured. selling privately will depend on a good sales team and a cheap product. i am not convinced of odx competing on either front
To be honest I am getting pretty fed up of making excuses for repeated c0ckups. I am beginning to think that anyone on this board could have set up a better, clearer more reliable and cost effective system than what has been offered by HMG. We have several high volume suppliers capable of producing a great test in volume, ODX, ABDX, Surescreen and GAD to name but 4. Give them the authority to supply the tests through pharmacy’s and potentially Amazon, allow a small number of reputable organisations to provide a the validation process at a reasonable cost and get on with it. If demand outstrips supply work with the chosen producers to increase capacity and consider other UK producers if absolutely necessary. Job done!
Agree it should be regulated to protect us consumers.
These companies can only charge exorbitant prices if they’re expecting huge demand. Like what happened with the PCRs; there was ridiculous pricing - while at the same time - pictures of 1-meter stacks of uncollected tests, circulating on Twitter.
Looks like the test providers are anticipating the same huge surge in demand. (Judging by their pricing).
I get where you are coming from Senza but I had hoped for a simple system at reasonable prices after the debacle we have all experienced with the previous system. In my view we will only get significant, constant demand when profiteering has been eliminated from the market place and people can confidently buy a LFT at a reasonable price, including validation and postage for £25. £25 should give all parties involved a very reasonable profit and establish a fair market with longevity, whilst prices are still so high and confusion remains once again there will be a reluctance to establish a lasting market which is what we all want.
Ok, I just saw the bespoke thing for £100, but point still stands. The higher the average pricing the more the anticipated demand.
Suppliers pricing high. Only do that if they're expecting huge demand. Unless there is some justification for a £100 LFT I'm unaware of.
Don’t quite understand how you got that from the quote but happy to agree that demand will be significant, I had just hoped it would also be simple.
Or put another way: demand is expected to far outstrip supply.
I had hoped that this time HMG were going to make it simple, evidently not:-
Charles HymasMaighna Nanu report
‘The Government’s switch from the more expensive PCR tests to cheaper lateral flow swabs for returning travellers is designed to give foreign travel a boost by saving families hundreds of pounds. But the analysis of existing providers reveals the costs range from £17.99 with 001 Expert Covid Testing UK, to £150 with the Private GP clinic in Sevenoaks, Kent.
At least half a dozen are pitched at £100 or more although the costs were inflated by offering a bespoke on-site testing service rather than the “click and collect at home” tests that the Government has allowed.
A significant number were also priced at £50 or more compared with all the major European destinations offering lateral flow tests at €30 (£25) or less.
Even the cheapest failed to disclose in their headline price advertised on gov.uk that package and posting will add £10 to the cost. Fully-jabbed holidaymakers will be able to use lateral flow tests on their return. If they test positive, they can get free PCR tests on the NHS to check their result.’
