I think its a corporate responsibility thing. the business is responsible for the staff / directors actions.
I believe Mr Gunn is also personally charged
It seems unjust that the company should bare thr brunt of any sanctions - surely the individuals should - the natwest 4 went to jail - would;nt our guy face the same individual accountablity?
Global Investment Strategy UK Ltd. and John ... - SEC.govhttps://www.sec.gov › complaints › comp24996
If found guilty then a considerable fine will be incurred by the company & therefore cancelling out any chance of a share buyback.
Will drag on until at least end 2021 i think.
They still need to explain organised plan involving management and major investor to regain full control of co after listing cos wouldn't have been allowed list it if had been known and if share price damping to enable it then I'd think it's big trouble. Then when get wind of authority coming they try run to private again. Unbelievable
Still hiring people in HK so business must be doing OK.
Some other updates added to their websites.
David Streatfield appointed Managing Director - Head of Asian Sales at GIS HK.
Seems very quiet, with no news coming from or leaked from either side, although I guess this is normal for these things.
The other reason to post this is just to keep this area from dying of inactivity
I checked the other day looks like they have updated to drop the reference to the shares as being listed
I got my share certs for some of mine. You would need to physically request that these are rematerialised by HL to do - for example if they were in a SIPP then they would keep them there.
It is poor that OCT haven’t spent a couple of hours updating the website properly. I would expect some sort of update in April as to the level of impact on the business of the SEC case and what’s happening with that.
I've asked HL what's happening as they originally told me I needed to move my shares out of my ISA. But the people I've had contact with seem to have no clue as to whats' going on. So at the moment how would they pay dividends.
The Website still calls itself OCTAGONALPLC , and still has reference to AIM etc etc, and there's still no new on how shares can be traded, all in all begins to feel very shady.
This is beginning to feel like Football Index
It's quiet but these things often are long winded
Do we know what is happening with SEC?
Anybody on here a client of GIS?
On companies house.
Information has been uploaded to companies house and will be available within 10 days.

Been to the website still says its am AIM company ! and has links to AIM rules etc, one would almost think it was looking to lure suckers in.
Thanks all see what my broker decides to do but as I understand it they have to come out of the ISA
@HBomb5
Mine were moved by HL to a standard account rather than my ISA , and HL say they are worth £0.00
Yes I had some in isa - now I have a fancy certificate that may or may not end up being worth a decent amount. Can’t hold unlisted shares in isa so had the choice of them sitting in trading account or having them here and potentially available to trade when matched bargaining facility available. I suspect later this year as but back suggested for the autumn, but does depend on the sec investigation and the impact it has had on ongoing business operations
Dickies did you hold them in an ISA?
Mine are in ISAs so I’m waiting on the broker to confirm what’s happening but they might transfer into my trading account.
JP Jenkins used to offer a matched bargain facility and it looks like they still do, however I suspect nothing will move on this until SEC issues have been addressed, website still makes reference to shares being listed.....
Got my rematerialised share certs today - hoping they don’t become something to frame as a painful reminder and can look at my options once the matched bargaining service is announced
On the Octagonal website it states.
Match Bargain Facility – The Company will provide details in due course.
When that will be is anyone's guess.
Cheers
@gharri07
sedol/BWWCHQ2 is what mine shows as in my HL Account
Things have to be sorted out hell of a lot quicker to protect ordinary trusting investors from directors entirely croked planned actions
“existing shareholders”
AJ bell advise they will always show zero value as they cannot now be valued
If I asked AJ bell to value them they would charge a fee for the privilege of doing it
The only way to sell I believe is when OCT have set up their internal process of matching buyers to sellers or when/if OCT make an offer to the existing sellers
I’ll be holding mine to collect any annual dividend and just sitting tight unless they pay me the 4p I paid Circa 7yrs ago pre consolidation
HL are supposed to be moving mine from ISA to standard stocks and shares account, they are still in ISA in a category "other", and valued at £0.00
