Thanks for your kind words MrHold. Great to hear you scooped up more at the low level.
OCDO has been a very successful investment for me in the past but I have tended to buy it when it is in an uptrend. When it falls it can be quite dramatic, over 50% in 2012, 2014 and 2016.
Thank you Edwin. Im always grateful for a bargain.
I can see you also got a super nice buy too. Nice one!
Thank you Valueplay. I’m pleased you also made a purchase in the early 1900”s too… I appreciate your posts as they are always informative and helpful. Thank you for taking time out of your day to do so.
Welcome Mrhold.
You did a good job to top up at late 1800's and early 1900's.
Hi Valueplay. Oh yes I’ve been reading the board every day and liking your posts. I’m definitely still holding and indeed bought a good few more chunks in the late 1800”s and very early 1900””s.
Now it’s just a matter of sitting back and waiting for the magic to happen!
Patience is my best friend :)
Have a super nice weekend one and all.
OWLS is a stern critic, his sharp talons come out for any loose comments.
Wonder if MrHold is still reading the board and is living up to his name and still holding? He went on a very well timed buying spree just when prices dipped..
Best to all. A 2000p+ finish would be a nice way to go into the weekend
surely owls has been here long enough to know that stocks can go up as well as down and its only a loss or gain if you sell lolol
There should be calmer conditions ahead after the recent volatile period for the Ocado share price. The 2 biggest shareholders have given a huge indication that they see that mid £19 as a definite buy and that they are acquiring and holding once again. There was talk that the director buys in February were trying to prop up the share price. The recent huge buys by Jorn and London Amsterdam Trust though go beyond simply trying to prop the price up. They see ££ opportunity and have pounced before the price hikes once again ..
Gapped up on open, good sign
Currently yes, that's true OWLS, but the SP is on the road to recovery now and fortunes will quickly improve.
OCDO isn't a share to short or trade - just hold long.
It's not a no brainer CHILTING, if you had been buying on the dips over the last few months you would be seriously out of pocket.
Also, Nick Roditi's last big move within Ocado to 12% was just ahead of a Technology sale. Who knows ?
A further point is that the 2 big shareholders - Jorn Rausing and London Amsterdam trust did not sell any shares when the Ocado share price hit the heights of £28/29. They didn't because they thought they believe the share price is worth more.
Highly probable that these 2 shareholders who together hold around 22% of Ocado's equity will hold at least until the share price hits £28/29 again... This backing and solidity of investor belief has been key to Ocado's growth. It will continue to be so to an even greater degree after the new purchases by both shareholders.
Another point is that the 2 biggest shareholders of Ocado (London and Amsterdam Trust, and Jorn Rausing via his Apple fund) have been historically long for many, many years. Very little changes to their holdings. No sells, some occasional buys.
So it is very safe to assume that the £54m of shares Jorn had bought recently and the 0.38% of Ocado that London and Amsterdam trust have bought will not be sold by them for many years. Effectively these share acquisitions by these 2 players has led to less liquidity in the market.
Agreed chilting,
Of course the buy transactions by the big 2 Ocado shareholders were facilitated by enough people selling. There are many sellers of Ocado stock around but the fact that these 2 players are buying, and buying big chunks is very encouraging. Their knowledge and insight on OCDO stock is the best out there.
If we follow their lead and long hold from now I believe there are significant rewards ahead...
Positive signs this morning - the SP, although still down, is outperforming the FTS100 index by a good margin.
Its a no brainer for all shareholders, no matter what their holding is - simply buying on the dips.
From the comments here, most long term holders have been taking advantage of general market conditions and topping up.
It also underlines what an excellent investment OCDO is for all shareholders, big and small!!
Ocado's biggest shareholder chilting. London and Amsterdam trust have upped their stake on Ocado from 12.09% to 12.47%. I thought this was very probable as Jorn Rausing was hoovering shares.
Extremely encouraging that Ocado's 2 biggest shareholders are buying huge extra amounts of shares at this moment.
See RNS for exact details.
Another of Ocado's big shareholders Nick Roditi has increased his stake in Ocado Group.
