As a technology firm (foremost), I love the possibilities of providing Ocados tech to other large retail firms, not to mention the inevitable PR boost they'll get if they switch to a green fleet of delivery vehicles.
This may not be the bottom of the current coronavirus rout, but it seems like an ideal buying opportunity.
I've been watching for months and jumped in today with 667 given we seem to be at a 12 month low.
Not goldies, they will love it
Unfortunately the overnight BBC business news was saying Dow etc down £5 a day last 2 days, wall street NOW taking notice of virus effect.
Expect all stocks to drop for months, maybe 9 months, UNLESS it leads into a global recession!
Cheering news...
Reading some of the broker & business news assessments of OCDO etc. yes OCDO fell a lot, but in line with general market fall..... generally to do with the virus and slow down in many countries economies especially those using Chinese parts in their own products.
Doesn't help with Italy cases, start of EU potential spread and USA even saying it is inevitable to take a hold there - Trump has asked for $2.5billion to contain it / ( support the stock market? ).
Hong Kong using a form of monetary easing and saying may even give cash to residents to stimulate demand!!!
O: Yes I am floundering about not really knowing what to do for the best. It is past time the markets took the virus seriously, that period about a week ago when all was apparently fine was when the clever money started to move into cash and gold etc. I should have guessed but I have a massive inertia to selling at a loss and doubt I would have listened to advice.
Some of us have moved over to Red Braces Brigade on General Chat to keep this board for OCDO.
Here is a link, hope to see you there...

S. Its impossible to call the bottom We dont know how the virus will behave. Unlikely to have a vaccine within this current year. We dont know the full consequences on the global economy. The next few months will undoubtedly be volatile on the markets. will be tempting to trade and easy to loose lots of money unless you have very strict parameters. Even with stop losses when markets get rocky they dont always work. If you fix a price and it goes down to fast you won't sell at all. If you leave the price open could be in the back of a big queue. Not wishing to scare monger just telling as and as was in previous difficult situations
Have seen predictions of between 10-30% correction on American markets. Buffet says its all hot air and the Corona Virus will be gone in months according to his advisor Bill Gates FFS. I dint know he was a medic lol. Mind you Buffet also rightly said a lot of people are investing for dividends which is foolish in his view adding 'if you are retired get used to living on 1% interest. More like .01% Good luck and tread carefully. NMC looking good
Yes, sorry, I did mean it for G.
Has OCDO bottomed out yet? I really don't know, I sincerely hope so. T has a theory running about the SP fitting a triple bottom pattern. He is a much better judge than me on OCDO trends.
Hi S,
I am over there, think you meant this for G ??
Had OCDO bottomed out yet - reached near 1080 SP ? Are we expecting further falls with this virus or the bounce / triple bottom effect? ( to keep it on topic ;-) )
Hi V,
I think T should have said...
on the left it has the heading General Chat, click that, then choose "Chat" then choose "Red Braces Brigade"
or...use this link

Hi G
All you need to do is go to share chat at the top of this page, on the right it has as a heading General Chat, and then a sub heading of General Chat again - if you go on that you'll see the new thread for us - look forward to seeing you over there.
Hi Sad, T
Don't quite understand the chat format...is reply on that thread now. doesn't look like any recovery for months. I'm bracing myself for the whole year to be a wash out. Although It's perfect for buyers. I was just too stupid to keep money back for this eventuality.
Good luck
I have started the above named thread under "General Chat". Anyone is invited to contribute there.
Yesterday's FTSE fall was largest for 5+ years. OCDOs fall was in line with the FTSE but it's a small comfort.
FTSE expected to be up today by 50 points, a 0.7% "recovery" on yesterday. I'm hoping for more.
