Thanks Neil for the update. You deserve a good service and hopefully some board members may take a peek on here occasionally !
Well it’s all too late now Chilting, as we have booked ours now with Waitrose, the point is it’s lost business and all quite unnecessary.
I’m sure slots may come up later but the damage is already done, that’s the point.
I don’t pay much attention to this domestic stuff usually but I acquired Mks shares when the market dropped in 2020 and friends, neighbours seem to think I’m in charge of deliveries!! I have far more important things to concern my time on.
Good luck everyone with your Christmas luncheon rations!
I should add that i did book at around 00.15 in the morning.
That’s exactly what we did Chilting but no slots available at all, not one !
It’s so frustrating!
Neil
The email I was sent invited me to book a slot the next day - not on the day that it was sent.
I did look on the day the email was sent but Christmas slots weren't available - on the next day, I had the full choice and booked.
Man up Neil....your trouble ain't lack of delivery slots at Ocado.....it's the' Trouble and Strife'
I am relieved we managed to book the Waitrose delivery as my wife was becoming unbearable!
Frankly I’d rather face a climb up Mount Longdon in a force 9 at night blinded by ice particles on my eye lids! She commands the Wi !
The point is though if five of my neighbours and I can not order from Ocado this year but we could last, what does that mean ???
Why have we been forced to shop with Waitrose again??
Jimmy,
We initially tried Ocado CS on the app, but they are simply quoting standard script replies, and that’s what we got.
I have spoken to one neighbour last week who was suggesting I had given him a headache with advising his wife and he should swap from Waitrose to Ocado last year which they did! His wife it appears has given him enormous grief (as did mine) this year though as we could not place our ‘not so smart pass’ (subsequently retracted)
My neighbour is the editor of a well known broadsheet who I didn’t wish to be upset before 10 November!! However that’s irrelevant now as the horse has already bolted!
I had employed an intermediary to get word across to Tim but it appears not even Tim is able to get his own shopping slot!!!!
As a Mks shareholder I have written to Archie officially and may see him in Scott’s.
After a while I was able to book my Christmas slot. Booked for 22nd Dec, not as close to Xmas as I would have liked but am happy to compromise in this exceptional year of huge demand.
Hi Neil, Perhaps a personal Email to Mr.Steiner ? is in order especially when it sounds like you’ve been a very loyal customer.
Norab,
Let me assure you, whoever you are, we could not and can not place a Christmas order on Ocado app as a smart pass customer!
Also, five of my neighbours who I personally converted from Waitrose to Ocado could not either!!!
I am not writing this to ‘cause trouble’ as you so naively put it!
‘Cause trouble’?? If you want trouble I can arrange that for you!!!
I have just looked again at the Ocado app and are no slots available from 20 to 24 December and it’s been that way since 01-10-2021 email stating ‘Festive slots open for you tomorrow’
Yes Chilting I too received the invite and went straight over to the Ocado app and no slots were available at all.
I wrote to Ocado dreadful customer services and they said in response, ‘yes, we’re busy’ ‘nothing we can do ‘ Etc
We tried many times with no joy, so we had no choice than to order from Waitrose and a London food specialist for our food.
The disappointment not being able to order from ones shareholder companies is beyond the pale!
Simply won’t do! Wimbledon hub is usually quite good at Christmas.
Yes, I also put a Christmas order after being invited at the end of September, no problem at all.
I think this Humphrey character makes things up to stir up trouble.
Strange man indeed.
As a mid week smart pass holder, I had an invite to order for Christmas on September 29th with orders being taken from 30th September - I ordered on the 30th and had a choice of slots on every day from 20-24th December.
Maybe you simply missed your email invite Neil and when you tried to book all the slots were gone???
I've always shopped at Marks on Saturday morning and for the last 3 Christmas order's but I'd rather have shares in Ocado now.
My Christmas order is with Waitrose as I couldn’t get a slot on Ocado (even as a smart pass household)
Many of my friends who converted from Waitrose have now followed my lead and gone back to Waitrose.
Waitrose customer services are much more advanced and responsive than Ocado. You get a human Waitrose.
Ocado have lost a dare say thousands of potential Christmas orders due to taking orders from non smart pass customers first.
I have subsequently cancelled my smart pass and given the story to a popular newspaper editor who is a neighbour of mine and today I have also asked an analyst to examine this situation with Mks as I am a holder.
This concerns me greatly as a Mks shareholder that Ocado once again and just like the pandemic were and are completely unprepared for volume. More potential profit missed for Mks!
It’s a shambles.
