@ShaunP,
Not going to criticise the elderly lady's comments too much and think she was too ready and willing to display some so-called 'Yorkshire grit' (or stubbornness). I've seen so many peoples views change almost instantly when faced with the actual realities of people dying from cruel diseases or suffering from extreme poverty and loneliness. IMO don't think any life lost unnecessarily is a price worth paying but do think at these dreadful times people need to help each other and not succumb to any aspects that may satisfy any 'divide and rule' agenda.
We have no idea the long term consequences of the virus, nor the emergence of 'Long Covid'.
If we find out, for example that it leads to accelerated macular degeneration over five years - you will be darned grateful for the lockdown and whatnot.
We just don't know enough, so caution wins the day. Businesses have had loans, furlough and 7/8 months to adapt.
I sympathise strongly with hospitality businesses, and retail stores that don't lend well to online retail but the writing has been on the wall for the high-street a long time. I think people do need to take _some_ responsibility for having savings, and whatnot.
Hi ShaunP.
I a as m interested in your take on it, but am at the opposing point of view to you. I think that lady has it spot on.
We cannot best the virus, it is not a deadly plague and fear is winning the day but cash/higher taxes will have to clear up the battlefield.
My mother and aunt are both of similar age and opinions to that lady because they have seen my family & I catch it and shrug it off.
The only way we can resolve this whole mess is to shield the vulnerable (with lots of support) and let the rest of us return to normal (with lots of testing to keep the peaks flatter). Anything else just delays the inevitable ‘we will all catch this’ process and cost multiples more in future taxes. Irony is that the young are not in danger but are losing both their youth to this and their financial future to it as well. If I was young, I’d be as mad as hell right now.
Deepest respect to you.
Intrepid.
I applaud her feisty spirit and give leeway due to age as she may not fully comprehend how easily covid spreads. I know with my mother I have an ongoing battle with some of her antics.
I'm certainly not disgusted by her comments ShaunP. It's the older generation (largely) we are meant to be protecting and it's important to recognise that whilst saving them many people are looking at their final chapter without friends or family or any quality of life. That in itself is very sad.
ShaunP.
I applaud her behavior.
She shows some proper spirit and sense.
The virus is destroying our economy.
@SeanP
What did the 84 year old lady say ??
Great to hear people are getting profits into thier banks, that's what we all aspire to mortgage free and enough to chill out a bit

You are right @shaunp!
One thing to understand is Nova is not just a test company anymore, its a technology company in its fields. The products they have innovated recently have many more applications relating to testing.
The current sp is almost just the cash flow they are generating with ongoing orders and the numbers are still increasing in many countries!
@Wilson63,
Yes and not all superheroes wear capes.
Troublesome I was in hospital the other day and the level of professionalism is just mental really impressive, on a lighter note the food was fab!!
@ShaunP,
Don't particularly like the analogy but mention should be always given to those on the front line with regards to their bravery and sacrifices. It should never, ever be taken for granted.
Noticed again at the last PM briefing, little mention was given of those that had recently died from Covid on or condolences to loved ones.
ShaunP , A big thank you is due to you ,for the time and effort you spend compiling ,and posting so helpful of research ,
Wow 100k that amazing. We will all sell out eventually otherwise what’s the point. I agree though lots of news coming and you might have made that 150k by next week.
Sell now to get rich. Hold hold hold to become wealthy.
some sellers happy with profits ,not me ,
10 bag. very good. I am also out at 10.60, only a 3 bag and peanuts compared to 100K but enough to sort my garden :P .
i'll keep my eyes out for that £100K sell :-) well done
Well done but I honestly believe you’ve sold far too soon!
Why not leave some in - so much news due ?
my target price of 1030 has been hit, so I am selling the lot today. My £9K is now worth £100K, not including top slice profits. THANK YOU NOVACYT!!! Not quite life-changing, but getting that way... I hope for everyone else that this continues to soar. GLA.
