With regards to SP at Christmas no idea , nor do the seasoned professionals as witnessed in talk by fund mgrs. Obviously I believe well North of here or I wouldnt bother investing my time or money. A fun game but perhaps better on twitter if you have an account Popz.
Probably Govt paying for a bit of propaganda to detract from free school meals, care homes etc... etc....
Initially story started from an anonymous Govt source and mention that hotspots (not hot homes) would be prioritised.
The test seems that have limitations and I'm invested In - Nova already.
Quality is priceless.
I don't know where this 15 minutes has come from Innova mention 20-30 minutes so double the time. They don't say that in the instructions for use which I posted again below.
Here is a link to the pdf previously discussed on the 19th October on this board Pretty sure this is the pdf for the test as not found anything else:
https://cdn.website-editor.net/6f54caea7c6f4adfba8399428f3c0b0c/files/uploaded/Innova-SARS-Cov-2-Antigen-test-IFU.pdf
According ro the artical they are sayimg they are 100% accurate and take 15 minutes and arnt pcr.
I tried to find the company whos makes the kit to see if there was a share op there but found it was a company called innova medical group however cant find much more than that,,,couls it be another shady gov contract?
These new ones are not self administered. Not tested on asymptomatic people either.
It's being trialled and please read previous posts re Head of Testing saying PCR needed going forward and doubling of tests required.
My previous post - it's not as simple as made out in the article and it's not fast throughput:
"RE: Who are these people ?19 Oct 2020 21:21
Simple and quick? Steps similar to PCR test?
"TEST METHODS
The test should be operated at room temperature(15-30?).
1. Place the extraction tube with opening facing up. Press the extraction solution bottle to
drip 6 drops of extract solution into the extractor tube without touching the edge of the
tube.
2. The extraction of specimen: Put the swab had collected specimen into the extraction
tube, hold and press the swab head against the wall of tube with force while rotating the
swab for about 10 seconds to release the antigen into the extraction solution from the swab
head.
3. Removing swab: Squeeze the swab head while removing the swab in order to remove
as much liquid as possible from the swab. Dispose of swabs according to biohazard waste
disposal regulations.
4. Install the nozzle cap onto the extraction tube.
5. Loading: drip 2 drops of extraction solution into the sample well of the test cartridge,
and start the timer.
6. Read the results at 20~30 minutes. Strong positive results can be reported at 20 minutes,
however, negative results must be reported after 30 minutes. If positive signal appears after
30 minutes, it should not be reported as positive.
.......
14.The performance of this test has not been evaluated for use in patients without signs
and symptoms of respiratory infection and performance may differ in asymptomatic
individuals.
15.Sensitivity of the test after the first five days of the onset of symptoms has been
demonstrated to decrease as compared to a RT-PCR SARS-CoV-2 assay."
10guitars top of the head here innova I believe buy from a Chinese company, so I believe our market share will be secure/expanding even if this test does prove reliable. As I said need somebody to verify the supplier.
Read in the daily mail that a test that is aready being used in a couple of schools and uni's and it gives results in 15 mins. Apparently it could be mass rolled out by xmas. Is this us? If not then who? Should we be concerned?...
