Whatnonewsyet - I too am optimistic about positive news on the DHSC front. The "battle for the bulletin board" and the "rec" counter are not what interests to me. The only battle that really matters is the continuing one to remain a successful investor, both here in my other stocks.G.L.A.
Hey VanV, I need to listen to the Webinar, my guess is ink drying on the contract, sp goes to £12, big churn, price drops again, if contract guarantees money over 2 years this may signal a new sp level around which the shenanigans will continue. It would be good to get out of this spike and languish cycle. More positive results of sales in US and Europe would get so moving up faster.
GLA. I am simply supporting Porky9 as I believe he has hopes like most punters that this stock delivers....... it is trying hard and at each step it is case of ‘we need the financials, what happened to the DHSC contract, NCYT does not get mentioned’ hopefully these statements will be a thing of the past! I am glad you are invested and on this board!
Whatnonewsyet - The government has taken a protective approach to companies playing an integral part in the C-19 battle. B2HS2L posted the relevant links on the government's stance on this very recently. Hopefully this will deter any suitors in the short term , hoping to get us on the cheap.
You don't need to "sell" Novacyt to me because I've been invested here since the first week in February, and I'm still here!
Even in a "bidding war", I would not expect £54!
I think over a period of time - 2 years or so - mid-cap status with an mcap of circa £2Billion is achievable, with a correlative SP. The phrase "bolt-on" was used by the CEO to describe potential acquisitions. Might there be a "bolt-off" of some part of the company and not necessarily at full takeover? A suitor might only be interested in one part of Novacyt, for example.
@VanV, my agenda is simple I want this company to be bought out for say £30 a pop. I don’t have time to wait 2 or 3 years. Having said that my feeling is that this company has performed amazingly well and will be a good acquisition for the likes of AZN. I wonder if award of a super large contract would have any strings attached, e.g the company must be part of a UK company to retain the technology and the long term relationship being forged. BOJO may not want the money to flow out to France. I will defer to others to discuss the financials, not my bag. The potential to scale up and realise worldwide sales must be being eyed up by several multinationals. A buyout at a fair price would allow this to happen at a pace that GM and his team can’t achieve this. A larger organisation has established links with governments, the doors are already opened. If there is a scramble to acquire NCYT then the SP could well be close to Porky’s number. So we land DHSC 2 year deal worth a lot, on top of the surge testing already ringing up £££, Promate in France, sales in US, technology not restricted to COVID etc. What here makes anyone doubt the NCYT potential? Let us see what the next few weeks bring. BOJO has finally realised this thing COVID is not going away too easily and is proving to be a formidable foe. The scientists are coming, have come to the rescue.
Whatnonewsyet - The questions seem reasonable enough to me, they're certainly not "knocking" him, unless you want to put that slant on things for whatever reason. I gave my predictions to WBAFC very recently. What are your predictions? V
Porky9 (05:07) - You wrote, "I am fast coming to the conclusion that especially due to our materially undervalued market cap we won't get to full value before the business is acquired and this now has AZKs name written all over it - its a total no brainer frankly.
What are your revised SP projections? Takeover and no takeover?
It might also be worth noting this point. I do not believe that too many people would invest here as a result of your £54 share price projection, I think you ought to make it clear that that price and your belief that the company is "materially undervalued", are in your opinion. V.
@Porky9 Thanks for putting in the time and effort to unselfishly provide the Horizon precis, its much appreciated. Seems we have all bases covered going forwards regards required diagnostic surveillance re: development of LAMP Covid-19 and antibody LFT along with 2-gene target Promate tests with also expansion of SNPsig portfolio. In addition, a panel to detect aspergillus. The close collaboration with AZ re: saliva testing and the provision of integrated solutions to deal with the Covid crisis is essential IMO, both here and worldwide - lessons that need to be learnt rapidly (as with the climate crisis). Just to add - hoping for some exciting wheeks ahead - oink, oink. Personally, going to confidently enjoy some long walks over the next few days given the forecasts.
As you research this vast growing field and realise how essential the data from sequencing is for effective vaccine modification it becomes incredibly noticeable how interlinked Novcacyt need to be with the vaccine producers.
I am fast coming to the conclusion that especially due to our materially undervalued market cap we won't get to full value before the business is acquired and this now has AZKs name written all over it - its a total no brainer frankly.
If that DHSC contract lands and further embeds us with the NHS just watch this space, I think they will be targeted us within 8 to 10 weeks tops of any deal.
