Sorry typo - EQI
Equ works well. Used to called self trade
Hi max
Getting out of Barclays was a nightmare for me and one stock went under in the process still charging me account fee for that 2.5 years later. If I did it now in hindsight I would sell everything and just transfer the cash and take a hit with the fees.
Very optimistic with this sp holding my account up at the moment.
Good luck all for next week
can shares be transferred from one broker to another easily
I've changed from a trading strategy now to a holding strategy. I anticipate an exponential curve for sales over the next 2 weeks. If the SP mirrors the sales as it has done for the last 4 RNS's, then it would be very risky to continue a trading strategy. If you miss the news you'll miss the leg up.
Agree that AJ Bell are terrible.
DYOR
I've always found HL good. If you are a risk investor you could try selling on any decent rise over the next few days and repurchase on the almost inevitable retrace, but risky. Otherwise B&B in one go.GL
Thanks silver51 ,
Nat West ,
Blownitalready .. ive encountered problems with LSE site hence my question could I dare to ask of any recommendations
Max
Max.. I only use this for the chat. LSE has had problems with their site , so not sure I would want to use them for trading. Just my opinion .
Mine was done over the phone by broker
ok thanks !
another question are you guys mainly trading through LSE or just using as a chat platform
Max
Max...best done over the phone. Then you hardly lose anything while they move things over (sell+rebuy)
ok ,some great advise here thanks , as you can see all new to me , yes from regular account to ISA account
both LSE maybe ill leave to mid week in calmer waters might not loose as much
Just a warning, I did this a while back with sound energy, lost over £1k due to price/ spread changes.
was thinking of doing it with this tomorrow but not so sure for this reason
The time for the transfer is dependent on where your shares are currently. If you are transferring from a regular trading account to an ISA trading account (eg. interactive Investors)..it can be a few minutes.
Really simple. Ring your broker and let them do it for you. It will be done within a min. You’ll probably see 20k sell at say 194.5 20k buy at 195. Done
Sorry, you have to buy the shares in the new ISA you can’t transfer. So you either buy new shares in it or you bed and ISA existing shares (sell and repurchase but don’t do yourself as you might lose out on the spread).
Yeah have your bank/provider open a new one (May take a day or two) and then you can buy shares directly into it. If you only have £10k to spend you can bed the other £10k from existing shares.
No you have to sell and repurchase
Thanks RB40 , could this be done without selling and repurchasing shares ?
Absolutely, phone your bank/broker (whoever holds the shares) and say you want to bed an ISA. You can do so for as many PLCs are you like but total value of £20,000.
Thanks tomvisual :- that was my thought
not in profit yet with my holdings but looks like tomorrow all may change
Do not forget if you sell to "bed and breakfast" then there's no guarantee you will be able to repurchase the shares at the price you hoped!
I think you have to sell them first and buy them under the ISA wrapper.
Very risky with so much news imminent.
Try to pick a quite trading time to sell and repurchase?
