Rumour been going on for a year...
Oriens1, in that case, let's start the rumour ourselves :)
I really don’t want some sort of takeover as it’ll never be at a reasonable price, max £20-30. The company would be able to generate more over time.
Porky....let's hope so! Even the rumour of a to would lift the sp! Lets face it, nothing else is.....fingers crossed
OK fair enough. I'm skeptical on the takeover narrative that's appeared recently, but let's see.
@Jonny19
No, i am saying the odds increase. That's what i'm saying;
Tomorrow if a update lands confirming the position at 5.2 % as suspected, we have confirmation for sure they are building a position. Fine.
However, If that position moves to 8%+ then i would say its in order to facilitate a bid because this is mirror activity to what we have seen elsewhere.
That is all. DYOR. This is just my opinion. I could be 100% wrong.
So if Blackrock increases their holding, which has already been widely reported by those with access to BB terminals, a takeover is the obivious conclusion. Seems rational!
Why tomorrow?
It it doesn't matter what Thermo pay for a start up, it only matters what they would offer for Novacyt and more importantly what deal would be accepted?
It only goes higher if a bid is rejected or if another interested party joins in to counter bid.
There will be a market multiple but ultimately a business is only worth what someone will pay for it and what the buyer will accept.
If Thermo went to Graham and said (off record) could go to £ 2bn but we want you on an earn out deal over the next 5 years at 10m a year salary but if we can agree / help us secure a deal at say £ 1.5bn we could probably get you £ 20m a year earn out? Not saying this is the case, im just saying there are other considerations at play and if there is only one bidder and Graham likes it, likely it would get approval especially if at that point II have an even bigger percentage of the company.
I am waiting to see what Black Rocks position is. IF they haven't increased then maybe a deal is a longer way off but if they have as suspected increased their its game on imo. AND if they build to anything like 8% i would put a deal at 99% i would put a deal at odds on guarantee. by close tomorrow i think we will know one way or another.
Latest numbers for variant cases in the UK. It seems the number of South African variant cases has gone up by 60 in just over a fortnight. The 16 cases of a new variant are mentioned at the bottom of the list .

Thanks Hart & Wilson
Ad4you, I believe what tay is driving at is thermo are paying roughly our mcap for a startup therefore what are we worth!!
Welcome back ShaunP, last night you raised the question about the prevalence of pulmonary aspergillosis. From what I can see in this report from the CDC it effects between 20 and30% of critically ill patients on ventilator's. Numerous report's link the increase to the greater use of steroids used in fighting covid19.

Co-Diagnostics New Rapid PCR Point-of-Care and at Home Testing Platform to Detect Covid-19 and Other Diseases Using CoPrimer™ Technology
https://news.codiagnostics.com/2021-03-02-Co-Diagnostics-New-Rapid-PCR-Point-of-Care-and-at-Home-Testing-Platform-to-Detect-Covid-19-and-Other-Diseases-Using-CoPrimer-TM-Technology
Co-Diagnostics, Inc. (Nasdaq: CODX), announced today the development of a new point-of-care/at home PCR diagnostic testing, screening and surveillance platform designed to perform Covid-19 testing at businesses, schools, homes, hotels, cruise ships, airports, airplanes and other locations.
The small cube-shaped device utilizes the company's Direct Saliva extraction-free protocol in connection with Logix Smart test reagents that are pre-packaged in saliva receptacle tubes. A person simply adds a swab or saliva sample to the receptacle tube and places the tube inside the device, which is then activated via a smartphone app and delivers rapid PCR Covid-19 results directly to the smartphone. The Company believes that the convenience of displaying testing results on the smartphone empowers employees, students, travelers, and other individuals to quickly know their Covid-19 status, and may also provide a simple, straightforward way to satisfy requirements for entry into entertainment venues, clearance for airplane travel and hotel accommodations, work and school passports, and other applications.
