£30 for "supervised" LFT's.
Whatever next - Laurel & Hardy time !
I wish they’d use some of the cash to hire someone who actually knows how to talk to the market and shareholders. May have meant one fewer Ferraris for the BoD but maybe they’d have recouped that in time with a SP lift.
I just wish they'd use some of that cash and buy up Deepverge to get that electronic breathtest developed cos deepverge are taking their time about it.
#noswabs
The Riflemans - don't hold your breath. The Bod has done nothing ,repeat nothing, over the last year to manage communications to promote shareholder value.
I hardly call the mp's pockets "the bin" ? many will be able to retire very comfortably after this!
Its the best "Cash Cow" this Gov has or will ever get!
But, I do feel the reason the BoD is making such horrendous timings of RNS's info, is they want the buy back at stupidly low price?
And this is enabling "whomever" to take a position, or indeed a take over?
From hero to zero, and always on AIM ? imo
@Wilson63
I'm not upset just angered at the weak defence.
Other partys have offered cross-party discussions re: social care but BJ has just blundered ahead with no detailed plan due to pressure regards manifesto lies and not even consulted his own MP's.
Its all about priorities too and as I mentioned, this Govt continues to throw billions of our hard-earned cash in the bin.
Your last line says it all ' Kindness has gone replaced by what's in it for me ' as exemplified by the twazzock & his cronies.
Think we’re going to see a bit of pressure again today, both this morning and then after any official announcement. Potentially not a great 48 hrs for us, but we could come through it OK if the BoD would just bang the drum a bit louder...,,
Troublesome and what's wrong with my comments for someone without political allegiance you really do get upset with anyone else differing opinions.
Chinese crappy LFT'S - nowe there's a black hole if ever there was one.
@Wilson - Binworthy - just like your comments.
I think the Board of Directors will probably wish to reflect on the timing of yesterdays decision given this announcement on the ending of PCR tests for travel in the UK. It got to well over 400p and then it has just been sliding backwards ever since. They really need to deliver some NCYT specific good news to counteract things. Will we see more downward pressure on the share price today.
Sorry Saintsmith I'm going to disagree here social care is a black hole for money, nobody wants to see all our old dead(obviously more than just old in social care) and what's the opposition party's policy on raising the money? They will tell us at the next election wow. Fact is we all have to pay but we all then moan like f... when we are charged.
Nobody from any party is going to come up with an acceptable solution, fact is all these people with the gift of bulletin boards just moan about anything.
As I have just demonstrated.
Kindness has gone replaced by what's in it for me.
Neil presumably if LFT's comeback positive there will also be a requirement ( reduced but significant ) for a PCR test.
Not as good as testing all returning travellers but surely the least we can risk if we need to identify and track variants. Hoping even this government won't roll back any further for the foreseeable future, for all our sakes.
Your bang on the money there troublesome .
Putting up NI to pay for social care although if they carry on not protecting the old folks homes and keeping the elderly and vulnerable safely protected with accurate testing there may not be many of them left .
I’m sure the government would hate that , wouldn’t they ??
This is most certainly not the end of PCR testing for travel, it is likely that only double jabbed returning UK holiday makers shall be exempt from the PCR test for specific destinations. Foreign nationals visiting the UK from around the world shall still be required to complete a PCR test. Also, other nations require a PCR test for entry and the cruise ship industry is very unlikely to drop the requirement for PCR testing.
I work within aviation and am aware of many bucket and spade destinations where the flights are operating with less than 30% load factors. I don't for one minute think that Today's changes to rules shall have a massive positive impact upon load factors, there are too many other issues, confidence being the largest.
A quote from the latest article
Huw Merriman, the Conservative chairman of the Commons Transport Select Committee, said PCR tests were expensive and "putting people off travel" while the rapid lateral flow tests were "just as safe". The NHS charges £68 for a lab-processed PCR test.
Just as safe eh I despair. He goes on to say
One justification for requiring PCR tests is that they can be used for gene sequencing and tracking coronavirus variants. But Mr Merriman said just 5% of positive tests were sequenced in July.
So Novacyt please employ first come first served from now on.
Everything is still very fluid with testing at the moment, it’s the end of PCR testing required by airports, until they come back again!!!
@SS
This Govt don't really care much about the health of the nation in stark contrast to Novacyt and I hope, the vast majority of those invested here - although that's questionable at times.
They are obsessed by opinion polls and just see the scrapping of PCR tests as a popular move with decisions based on political expediency and consistently exhibit a total dereliction of duty.
Most ordinary people can't distinguish or care about the difference is between a PCR and LFT test and cost is paramount to them. Given the unpopular NI tax raise etc... , the Govt will see this as the right thing to do at the right time, although the opposite is true.
Agree with all you say Saintsmith and I do feel that we should be reasonably protected, but right now the perception is that we’re a PCR stock. This could have been very easy to change before this news landed, it’s been talked about for some time now.
Pandering to the masses, not making the correct clinical decisions. Yet again.
I think you are right RBM they are talking about ending PCR tests on returnees to the U.K. from most world wide destinations if you are double jabbed .
Luckily we are involved in genomic sequencing which can only be done via PCR and we have LFT coming to market soon . We also have worldwide sales to fall back on .
So hopefully protected in the long term but I expect more volatility .
This decision by the government will come back to haunt them .
Been double jabbed does not stop the spread and many double jabbed are dying .
It is all about control and making things harder for the unjabbed.
At least after having a PCR before returning from ****stan , turkey etc you know 100% that you are free from covid .
Upon dropping these tests and if the government carry on using in accurate LFT they will be unleashing covid on this island yet again and many will suffer .
Think we got through yesterday’s inevitable beating rather well, but I’m actually more concerned about today’s expected travel testing news. They’ve had warning, so really hope that NCYT have some good news on our LFT tests to counter any negativity towards PCR stocks today. That is how we’re perceived at present, a PCR Covid stock, it would have been very easy to change that perception with a strong update on LFT offerings. Let’s hope.
