Don't forget covid doubles every 2 weeks, your talking 3 months of growth if it was one carrier (not including missed cases and carriers). Screams multiple imported infections over a shorter period of time to me, and much more wide spread. Lets see if kids in those households were quarantined from school. Google picks up an article on the double mutation in early January. Total mess yet again, thank goodness it's not a zombie apocalypse.
Maybe even the missing link might discuss the missing piece on his trip to 'not red ' listed India next week.
Unfortunately, probably not and just a photo opportunity providing a distraction from increasingly disquiet surrounding certain other conflicts of interest.
Prof. Altmann of Imperial College says that the India variant could scupper the U.K's march to freedom.
Dr Shahid Jameel, one of Indias leading virologists said ' If we were sequencing enough, regularly and in an organised manner, we would have caught this early.
However, it seems that India has still sequenced more than any other country but the missing piece appears to be the link between these sequences and the epidemiology of the disease.
Surely Novacyt can provide the much needed missing piece ?

Interesting article and managed to get a personal mention early on - Lol
Some info on mutations including 'Nelly' and the spike mutation K417N, the impact of which is not yet known and of course E484K or 'Eeek '. No-one can predict how the virus will evolve as the vaccines roll-out although the good news is that convergent evolution may make it easier to target updated vaccines at multiple new variants at once.
Some things are certainly not going away anytime soon (if ever) i.e. the effects of climate change.
Both crises share commonalities and their effects are converging.
The emergence and re-emergence of zoonotic diseases are made more likely by intensive farming, international trade of exotic anmals and increased human encroachment into wildlife habitats.

Firstly, I guess a lot comes down to your perception of this Pandemic.
Was the Vaccine the Silver Bullet to end the matter? Can we live with it like its another Flu Virus and will we have to make some significant life style changes in order to keep it in check? AND moreover as this is a global virus, How long will it take for every country to gain control? Will it keep returning in different forms? Will we face other equally nasty viruses in the future? How prepared will we be?

Not just the UK but the entire world has had little in the way of a medical or Diagnostics infrastructure to adequately deal with this, it has only recently started building one.
The bottom line is that we all want to be optimistic here but its clear this is going to take time. This virus is NOT going away anytime soon. As with any virus we would expect variants that's the nature of how a virus develops but i don't think any of us expected to see the devastation that some of these new variants have caused. The Brazil and the South African Variants and their antibody evading qualities being of specific concern.
Appreciate this post is just pointing out the obvious, but there has been much discussion tonight on how Novacyt is valued and perception of this virus is a massive factor in that in my opinion.
All of my own calculations were based on Fundamental Values at a multiple mid range of other diagnostics businesses. I see no difference between Novacyt and other Diagnostic groups in terms of how they operate and moreover how long it would take to build a business like Novacyt to form a valuation.
The market makers meanwhile have not seen Novacyt in this way, it was on effectively a cash rating and this is because the market considered that Covid would simply "blow over" inside of 12 months we would be out of it and that would be the end. Just like the flu but we now know the situation is very different.
I can't know how long it will take for Novacyt to be properly valued but i believe as sure as hell it isn't correctly rated at the m
