Wow, great find GGGG.
That's massive when you look at the % increase from the previous order.. 250%!!!
Lets see if the next order is 250,000 and so on...
This was the original 40K ...
Good find gggg great to see this relationship is still on going. Interesting to see who was on the board here on this.
It says in the article "another batch" I expect this will continue and be more. Another say £750,000 to £1m revenue for us and probably around another 500k cash in bank as the margins we know are over 50%. All helps and builds up. Moooooooooooooooooo
100000 seems like a strange amount to send, do you think this could just be part of the previous 40000 PCR test kits? Or a new ongoing order?
By the way it's good to have you, Ghia and some of the others back posting on here. It sounds silly, but with such a large amount of my portfolio devoted to novacyt now, having your research and enthusiasm calms my nerves somewhat.
Nice one fella.
More tests delivered by U.K. government to Egypt. Yep novacyt again. Proof again of the in bed relationship if you ever needed it
If you don’t ask you don’t get. The city knows a lot before us PIs so why not try and level the playing field. Synairgen should come good and returns could be amazing I couldn’t believe the drop to the 30s the other week. It is just like a huge oil find really but has the obvious risks.
A lot of Covid plays have suffered from two affects I feel. 1) sentiment moved away as people thought Covid was gone or going when it is quite clearly with us for a lot lot longer sadly and getting worse. Sentiment is clearly returning so Covid plays should fly again imo. 2) Covid plays were easy short targets (pumps also) as there was a lot of novice PI money to take advantage of, shake, take etc.
gggg21 - hahah I like your style, mobile will get us out of this mess for sure.
SNG is so painful at the moment like watching paint dry just when you think the price is about to catch a break you get kicked in the teeth by another II. Just gotta wait it out and hopefully get the news we all want.
The price action here has been a bit unjustified of late too I mean it when I say I hope we get a set of monthly's that blows the price out the park.
Ghia- I have looked at genedrive and held at a few points. However a couple of red flags for me has been spreadex tr1s trading it, along with all the others and the fact I can’t see any figures for anything, adoption etc further approvals yet for it and it has been out for over a month now. I don’t want to go into the other areas there.
gggg21 - Completely agree what works in the lab is not always cut out for the real world.
How much reading have you done on the genedrive POC? I imagine the NCYT mobile testing will be very similar the GDR approach is saliva.
I personally think it’s a good sign that both companies are converging I doubt the scientists at both will be wrong.
I don’t see these lateral flow tests from other companies being available anytime soon or with the accuracy required to get us out of this mess.
Sorry just remembered one more thing ghia that maybe of interest to you and others. I sat on a few government webinars (invited myself ha) on testing and seen some interesting slides. Phase 4 of testing for the UK is mobile testing is flagged to come beginning of July, they didn't go into to much detail....lets see what this is and how it evolves. Of course I wondered about our mobile test coinciding with release July.
PS you know I like synairgen, as I have held it a few times, just frustrated with the delays there as I feel synairgen should have been pushed far more but has been treated as you probably know as a "private" test.
I completely agreed with you ghia that exsig is the same etc, saliva however in to test tubes will improve accuracy as the swabs do cause an issue, i think the world over knows this. Anything outside a lab environment has proved dissapointing. This initiative is also looking for reliable antibody tests however a lot of science is still up in the air with this. However over 7 months in and any POC test or rapid test such as Abbot has just not been cutting it and thrown out - FDA approval removed. I also wonder as covid mutates we have seen how quick primerdesign can get the pcr test ready, could a POC test deliver this?
I have hunted, banged on doors, asked, begged for info on novacyt mobile test, however been knocked back, the secrecy around this intrigues me as it removes the "lab" element and can provide results I assume in an hour and half. (who knows it even quicker) there is some good youtube videos from primerdesign on the q32 or 16 in the amazon I think it was running a tes (I don't believe this is the path for the mobile test).
I am also always sceptical of our government and agendas, just like with Randox getting a token order despite not being up to it, just because they have a tory MP backer.
I would love a 99% accuracy (don't think we will ever get 100%) POC test in an instant (10mins) as long as reliable as it would mean getting our lifes back.
Looking at the Condor website it seems the Condo study are not only looking at how accurate the tests are but also how they work in real life situations. This is what it says
"We will assess the performance of tests outside of the controlled laboratory environment, in the real world, in a number of settings"
No doubt they will have a scoring matrix that will be weighted in certain areas based I feel this statement
The United Kingdom and wider world is in the midst of the 2019 novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic. Accurate diagnosis of infection, identification of immunity and monitoring the clinical progression of infection are of paramount importance to our response. Widespread population testing has proven difficult in western countries and has been limited by test availability, human resources and long turnaround times (up to 72 hours). This has limited our ability to control the spread of infection and to develop effective clinical pathways to enable early social isolation of infected patients and early treatment for those most at risk. The life sciences industry has responded to the pandemic by developing multiple new in vitro diagnostic tests (IVDs). To leverage the potential clinical benefit of those tests we require efficient but robust clinical evaluation. Therefore, to optimise resource utilisation in this global pandemic, we will conduct a platform adaptive diagnostic study on a national level, utilising a national network of expertise in the evaluation of diagnostic technology. CONDOR is the overarching platform which will be providing coordination, and as such, it has been deemed not to require submission to the HRA. Two research studies (FALCON and RAPTOR) which feed into this platform. This study will enable the evaluation of multiple assays in three priority areas: (1) Evaluation of the diagnostic accuracy of IVDs for active infection with SARS-CoV-2 (2) Evaluation of assays monitoring the immune response to SARS-CoV-2 infection (3) Evaluation of the prognostic value of commercially available tests for predicting prognosis in patients with suspected or confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection. (This arm will not be active immediately but may be activated after initiation). Recognising the need for a holistic, specialty-agnostic approach, our overall programme of work will take place in both primary and secondary healthcare settings, spanning the breadth of a patient's journey. The study described in this application (referred to as FALCON) focuses only on secondary care settings. A separate study (RAPTOR) is being initiated to evaluate IVDs for COVID-19 diagnosis in community setting
Hopefully they will have to publish the results
gggg21 - I think people here take my posts as a dig at NCYT they are not in the slightest. I hold here and the direction of travel looks great but I also try and keep a broad mind on what else is available which is why I hold elsewhere.
Your research is very thorough I can’t fault you on that but it’s worth cross referencing from time to time. The R&D going on here seems to mirror the announcements made by the unmentionable.
You can dress up exsig however you like and a potential saliva based PCR but it’s the same.
I’m sure we can agree that regardless of what we hold we just hope that countries fork out for the volume of testing that is actually required rather than giving it lip service.
Ghia sorry didn't finish off, do you also think 1.3m is a large amount to commit or more of a token gesture to be seen to be doing the right thing? I don't have much faith in National Institute for Health Research either as you can probably relate to their gestures and delays as Synairgen keeps pushing back and back.
I won't get into finding the accuracy and how some others have claimed to have tests ready as POC for June that now looks like October and so on, or how they will get the manufacturing capacity, availability etc. There is another tender already out for testing that is worth 100s of millions for UK I guess you have seen this...as they need it all now....so maybe to late for the others again as the money keeps getting spent.
Ghia - as you always look for improvement never stand still hence why a lot has centred around the Cambridge labs and pillar 5 and the new tests coming out from primerdesign.... remember shortage of reagents. As I have said I’m relaxed about my investment here and see the journey.
gggg21 - If you are happy with the product you are currently using why do you commission a study to explore technologies on the market, if ultimately you don’t plan in adopting the new tech.
My bet is they are currently not happy with what they have on many levels.
Primers new offerings will go some way to addressing that as will GDR’s I doubt either will scoop more than the other.
You can continue to join the dots how you see fit but the simple fact is the machines don’t care which test they run.
When you are delivering the lion share of the U.K. testing kits and part of the U.K. government pillar 5 with astra zenica (the most in bed company with the government) I think it’s a safe bet where the orders will continue going to really.
Kaeren - I did indeed autocorrect catches us all in the end. Bramley is a very factual poster good bit of research on condor and GDR’s links with Nottingham and Manchester uni’s might put them in good stead to pick up a bit of business.
Hi Ghia, think you meant Bramley not Bradley on the Gdr board. K
But it runs on the same hardware so I’d expect labs to switch to buying more of the new product and less of the old, to increase throughput.
This is an additional revenue stream
That would be great. Exciting times ahead!
Hollywood - this is not a replacement but an addition..
