True andip85, that's why we should wait for the science.
@sir_digby - I've seen the graph, but any figures to go along with that? i.e have they gone from 1 -> 3 a day? Tripled admissions doesn't go hand in hand with mild disease (unless their case rates are MASSIVELY MASSIVELY higher - but even then some reports have suggested mild disease even in admissions - so that doesn't really make sense either).
Feels like it's a bit early to draw too many conclusions at the moment...
Just my opinion, DYOR
Don't forget that all the Chistmas parties @ No 10 last year raised loads of dosh for the Tories.
They don't want to cancel those again for the rest of us.
They wouldn't want to caught with their trousers down twice along with all that snorting that their associated with.
Hospitalizations surging all over the place.
I'm not the one making the claim, hospitalizations have tripled in the province it was first the last 2 weeks. That information is verifiable.
A lot of the possible lack of virulence of this new variant is based on anecdotal reports and we won't know for sure for several weeks at least. However, we can already see that it is a highly transmissible strain and as such, TESTING will be increased, regardless of how virulent (or not) this strain is.
If you are investing based on potential earnings of a company, then there is no reason not to back NCYT at present.
@Ventura - Did wonder this myself. Perhaps the gov realised they'd gone a bit too far easing restrictions? The current UK case rates look reasonably static, but we're not in the depths of winter yet (and Christmas mixing, people travelling etc etc) which will no doubt lead to a bounce in cases.
New variant is a good time to save face and backpedal a little as well as a little scaremongering to get vax uptake in the younger cohorts a little higher. Masks help (even if only to serve as reminder to people to keep away) and it's something relatively simple and pain free ...
If the gov really wanted to reduce the chance of transmission then large indoor gatherings would be banned and the WFH mandate would be back.
Just my opinion, DYOR
There are certainly hospitalisations in S.A it is so irresponsible to post such an article. The world has reacted to clinical evidence , multiple mutations in a new Voc. I have no idea if it ultimately will be mild, more transmissable or a mare , nor do the scientists at the moment they have all said approx two weeks.
Ventura - to be seen to be doing something. The last 20 months has proven that this government are clueless so don’t take too much notice of what they say.
Digby - any clinical data to say it is bad, as reported last week?
Don't believe everything you read.
Why bring back unpopular mask wearing if that was the case ?
Same old regurgitated rubbish that was doing the rounds at the weekend. No clinical data to support it.

Also, as above, the omicron scare was utter hype. However I don’t understand why we are tanking and odx is flying today.
Think when people see there profits dropping some gets shaken... MMS like that so they can get shares from the weak... if any one wanted to sell should have done over 400... some might be STOP LOSSES.. could be order filling could be any thing
Is this just profit taking you think?
On 2 November 2021, Novacyt also stated that if no further products were added to the CTDA register, the impact on full year revenues for 2021 would be circa £3 million. With this approval, the financial impact on 2021 will be significantly lower as the genesig® COVID-19 test accounts for approximately 30% of the circa £3 million revenue shortfall. This should be around 400-450
