Hello gjbrandon...Apart from the smart arse comment from Cammy123 ...I am grateful for all replies and especially yours...May I remind all posters I do have a holding here and Skin and the reason for posting in the first place ...my article was to judge if a guy who has over 30 years experience in the water water treatment world knew what I already knew about MWG/Skin...Clearly gjbrandon , you have confirmed that even those experienced in waste water do not understand the MWG story...highlighting MWG still has some work to go to get their story out..As for Cammy123 ,do not judge me by my handle, as that Lazypunter handle is from a business I set up from a kitchen table and turned it into a multi million pound business...I undertook a serious amount of research before I invested a penny here but my handle seems to convince some I am lazy or a stupid punter....I am neither but what some on this board show is their ignorance..This board needs to educate more, I am spreading the MWG story amongst my clients, all businessmen and women and they are all Lazypunters....but if you Cammy123 knew about their previous business history and used your stupid comment about them, as you did about me, you would be laughed at.
Education here on a complex story can lead to more investors engaging with MWG , that would be better for all of us.
I originally posted the article to prove even intelligent people in the waste water business , do not know the MWG story...we all have a part to play in helping educate those of us on here, looking for a better return on our investment and a safer less polluting planet...As a fisherman who has extensively traveled to fish, the U.K is is a good example of a country that when it comes to water management , is a third world country ...I invested here in the hope that MWG can help get our rivers and water cleaner .LP
Thanks Gerard for your amazing patience. If only other Chairmen and CEOs treated their PIs with the same courtesies. My understanding now is that the link between Integumen and MWG has, currently, nothing to do with the coronavirus. The commercial link is the supply of bacteria reagent material (for use in their Microtox system) to MWG by Integumen who will also supply logistics support. And the future?.............who knows, but we all need to watch for an RNS from either company.
Best wishes. Alan.
@PitseaAbe I can't comment on any future RNS. On the question, as of today, there is an RNS of the 18th March which you can find in the www.integumen.com/investors page in the RNS section (sorry writing this from my phone, so no easy access to copy and paste link) search for Modern Water if you can't see it on first list of RNS.
Thanks Gerard. It makes it a lot clearer and apologies for getting your title wrong. Just for my pedantic understanding am I correct in saying that apart from the sharing of revenues from consumables there is no other commercial link with MWG at the moment.
With regard to the coronavirus is that the likely subject of a shared RNS between SKIN and MWG?
Lazypunter, The only thing I can say is if the author of that post fails to see the relevance of water monitoring linked to Covid then he has no credibility, indeed I wonder if he is pushing a different agenda, his last paragraph clearly highlighted a total lack of understanding of what the guys at Skin are attempting to put together.
Should real-time detection work it can allow detection of outbreaks in real time, indeed possibly in advance of an outbreak as Covid Can appear in human fecies up to a week before a carrier becomes symptomatic, it can plot the progress or otherwise of the virus, and many others
Form my investment perspective Covid is a sideshow, I invested in a company that was reducing animal testing and offering some new and exciting advances in AI and medical products. My MWG investment was because of the synergies offered especially a prepacked Sales and distribution channel for the proven RAW test product.
A little quote from Biz Stone
TIMING, PERSEVERANCE, AND TEN YEARS OF TRYING WILL EVENTUALLY MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE AN ONERNIGHT SUCCESS
@PitseaAbe Microtox is the 30 year old Brand of water contamination detection equipment that Modern Water supply and both SKIN and MWG supply the recurring revenue consumables of bioluminesence bacteria that detect the contaminents. I am Chairman of the Board of Modern Water and CEO of Integumen. Aptamers are just one virus detection binding agent which is being run through the SKIN testing protocols. We have others, to be revealed soon and will update with an RNS at that time
Hope that explains it a little clearer?
Woops - words in last paragraph should read between MWG and Integumen - apologies.
Hi Gerard - just to get my understanding correct I wonder if you would be so kind as to comment on what I have written below.
MWG offers its Microtox service which probably, at its most important application, detects the presence of a range of contaminants in any liquid in real-time. It can detect whether the contaminant is biological or metal based and how prevalent the contaminant is. It does not identify the contaminant.
As far as the current coronavirus is concerned it is Integumen that is developing a methodology for identifying the virus with another company (Aptamer) quite separate from MWG.
I'm obviously missing something as I don't understand the link, if any, between MWG and Microtox other than they have the same chairman. - Kind regards, Alan.
@lazypunter unfortunately the response is not out of an educated research, but lack thereof. At no point, ever, has there been a statement from either Modern water of Integumen that Microtox is anything other than a bacteria, virus or toxin detection system. It can detect up to 2700 contaminants, but cannot identify them. To say otherwise would be misleading and deceitful.
Integumen have already proven the ability to capture and identify pathogens, such as bacteria. See teh london Stock Exchange RNS of the 20th November 2019 (RNS https://www.londonstockexchange.com/news-article/SKIN/results-of-ai-water-research-project/14314998) The development work currently underway with Aptamers and other SARS-CoV-2 binding agents has been a work in progress for many months, but built on 4 years of development of the novel sensor real-time detection system.
I have always, and will continue to advocate, a thorough undertaking of research into any company that a shareholder/investor intends to inject their hard earned money into, whether that is purely speculative or for long term wealth creation. Please, and I mean this sincerely, do not ask the opinion of anyone, unless you can be 100% sure that they too have undertaken a thorough research of the underlying security.
I don't know anyone in stockopedia. They have never reached out to speak with anyone in my team, so I cannot say with any certainty that they would have sufficient knowledge to render an opinion on the underlying technology of either Modern water or Integumen, but I am happy at any time to direct them to the RNS's that both companies have put out since I was involved to find anything other than a technology platform that has the bandwidth in a sales, marketing and distribution channel that Modern water has built up over 30 years with the Microtox brand.
Please do your research and not rely on anyone else, as they are not investing your money, you are and you are responsible for the decision to invest it.
.Dear gjbrandon,
I wrote to a contributor on Stockopedia about MWG @ Skin and their technology....See his answer below....I would be interested in your reply, not because I want to be argumentative but to better understand what our companies are doing .
From what I can see you have it a bit mixed up there.
Modern Water have a technology known as Microtox that they bought the rights to some years ago. I used it a little before that time. Microtox uses bioluminescence to measure the level of toxicity in the water. Basically the organism emits more or less light in the presence of toxicity. Sometimes you want toxicity present, e.g. because you’ve added a biocides to kill organisms, sometimes you don’t because the water is supposed to be free of significant contamination. There is no capability to detect viruses of any kind with this technique. What they have done in their publicity is made an association that COVID-19 is causing greater levels of water monitoring to be done thus generating demand for their kit but not being entirely clear the Microtox technique doesn’t detect that. ATP measurements are often done alongside the toxicity testing but they are not going to be selective for any micro-organism.
Integumen are doing something else with another company that is linked to COVID-19 it appears with Aptamer Group. That may successfully detect viruses and may be selective for COVID-19, however it looks pretty early stage to me. But the issue I would have with this is that COVID-19 is a respiratory disease that you catch through inhalation as far as I am aware. So, it is rather odd to be monitoring water for it. When was the last time you heard about monitoring water for the flu virus? See what I mean? Probably not really relevant.
Thank you.LP
