I look on JG's website regularly for news Lord, since that is all we are really concerned with.
There is nothing in so many words to say his musicals will be back any time soon. The only thing that is clear is that everything for this year has been cancelled, although they have been selling tickets for 2021 shows.
It's almost weird the way covid has been like a massive lottery win for Melody's gigs, but the musicals have been hit amidships
Ap
John Gore /Melody partnership was to bring theatre to the rest of the world , Covid has now surly changed that to the world .
i check a lot of news on theatre and nothing leaked for months , i find it incredible that nothing at all not even in theatre gossip , they are playing a cool hand here ------------ cant wait for the news to drop . and it will :) GLLTH
Albert, don't forget that 4 months ago they couldn't even get hold of masks for the NHS, let alone the public. Making it compulsory for the public would have deprived the nurses - which would you have chosen. It's like MVR, you have to see the bigger picture!
That was written back in April Lord, although I have to agree not much seems to have changed.
No-one seems to have the answers - yet. Social distancing is more relaxed but we now have to wear masks to go into shops, when we've managed four months without. Contact tracing fizzled out in IOW without really getting started, and is still in first gear now.
Our numbers have improved but we're not in winter yet. Aussie is, and they are having big problems. Having said that Brazil and India are hot countries and they're in trouble as well. It would seem a vaccine is the only real answer. All IMO - for sure.
How it all affects Melody I don't think has really changed. The virtual gigs are there for the taking. They can be the kings of their domain. Likewise the JG musicals eventually, but right now it's simply too dangerous to let them go ahead. Again IMO.

worth a read .
I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned but Michael Eavis has mooted Glastonbury 2021 being postponed until 2022. So it looks like next year's festivals are at risk as well.
blimey indeed bonker.
More like 2022 !!
watching the news and the youngsters us oldies will need to be careful . so thats 50% not attending at least .
How will they survive ------------
"Dear theatre-goer,
After much discussion and heartache, we are saddened to announce that Birmingham Hippodrome will not be staging live theatre productions in our main auditorium until 1 Feb 2021 at the earliest.
We have spoken at length with both Qdos Entertainment and Birmingham Royal Ballet, exploring various scenarios for this year’s pantomime, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and the annual performances of The Nutcracker. However, it is still not financially viable to host full scale productions on our main auditorium stage while social distancing remains in place. "
Blimey.
