Napster doing deals in Japan a couple of years ago and Melody/Napster have been coming together since then imo , even if it was only conversation back then , what ever this will be it has the backing of the music industry and livenation are a big part of it , India will be looked at now as their music/film industry has terrible pirate problems , easy to take from the big 6 , so Melody/napster and partners could solve this . GLA lth. Asia all the way for me :)
I had been wondering why John Gore's option price was relatively high. Depending on how long the Napster deal has been in the pipeline, this might be the reason - in which case roll on December.
Having had time to reread the Arden report Nov 19, the case study of Spotify lends itself to the current strategic position of the company, Napster has brought an instant audience with the all important subscription model, the Japan deal cements a further wide audience along with the O2 deal (Telefonica), we also have to remember the postponement of the John Gore option(220 million shares), together with the 200 million shares announced for the Napster deal demonstrates MelodyVR’s aspirations to become a multifaceted platform, Spotify organically grew their audience, we are growing through partnerships, alongside partnering with the producers and artists.
Interestingly, Arden valued the company at 18p (Nov 19 report), John Gore paid 18p (for some shares), with the addition of Napster Infrastructure which allows the platform to reach a vast audience for music, VR music and VR theatre, John Gore will have a huge opportunity!! December will be extremely interesting. GLA
As such melody was also buying that deal and ,,,,,,,,
What other deals have Napster install for us all
I take it with takeovers or reverse takeovers they take time to sort out
So maybe as some so called expert's were saying Melody paid to much for Napster they didn't realize that the Japanese deal was basically In place ?
sorry not rhapsody of course, meant to say real networks.
keith not a dumb question at all. i did wonder whether the japanese deal might be of sufficient substance to require some rejigging of the provisional deal terms.we don't have enough detail to reach any informed conclusions, but my initial feeling was that it was unlikely to be of sufficient substance to warrant any substantive change. i certainly hope not as this proposal does look like a transformational move for melody. there is alway a risk of course that events can produce a change in the detail ,or even derail the proposal completely, but i doubt that is the case (i think rhapsody has decided to pursue its future without napster and that sort of decision is unlikely to change even if the consideration for the deal might need some adjustment).on the name front i always think "powered by napster"is very cogent and i don't envisage the napster brand/name being dropped for one second, athough we may be some variants for certain aspects of the future business. just my opinion of course.
Very interesting. Not trying to be dumb here. I assume given the closeness to the MVR takeover, such arrangements would be absorbed, without the need for further agreement or revision.
If so....
BOOM!
Woooow, this is going to be HUGE!!
Good Spot petebo

well LF i don't have a firm view as to how things are going to develop except in a generally very positive way.i am just wondering where the emphasis,if there is one, will lie.i am happy for things to unfold in whatever way they do.
its not Napster anymore, its MVR
Italian
i don't think there is particular emphasis with the partners , this is going to be hitting the ground from all angles , these partners are all ready to rock and roll , brilliant deals which will have a lot of potential other deals with the industry eyeing up something better to work with . the music industry are fed up of the big 6 , imo . next Telefonica ??

The big 6 are greedy bullies .
not disagreeing LF.my wife always says i am prone to understatement! it does make one think what the future shape of melody is likely to be. (where is the emphasis going to lie?). i do think that there is massive scope for huge impact in and from japan and far east so certainly wouldn't want to down play it.
Italian
this is huge :)
excellent news pete.i agree withLF that it is highly significant.
Pete
that is the biggest news to drop for me , we knew Napster have been setting the path that deal will cover a lot of asia . this is the game changer imo GLA lth :) add this to the new share price .
