Or possibly interactive just means jump spots
With the Tom G gig referred to as interactive
Melody's time in bed with FB might of been very beneficial to us both working on avatar's or a way to speak to individuals in some capacity
AIMO
FB is making a portal and wants to be the market maker
FB allows every user on the planet to use its website
similarly
FB will allow every company on the planet to use its platform
hardly a surprise
as for Big Names and A-List artists
MVR has more than anyone through recording companies
to date no one has seen any
neither MVR nor others
so chill
wayneb, all make perfect sense. thanks.

for me perfect timing :)
There’s multiple schools of thought here re TIDAL/FB; here’s my two-cents. Essentially, any competition is healthy, particularly in a sector as new as VR gigs. The fact that a major player has announced their intention to enter this space only brings further press and traction to the world we’re operating in. In essence, they’ll push advertising more and therefore bring people to the world of VR. We should be thankful instead of scorn.
We also don’t know if MVR will be white-labelling their tech too - for TIDAL to align with all the venues we have contracts with could be an inherently long process too.
If anything, I’m excited that:
A) there’s a new major entrant into the VR music space (remember, 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing)
B) TIDAL will help do the heavy lifting in bringing users to the idea of coupling audio streaming with immersive experiences
A final point; both Napster and TIDAL are at c.3m users each, with similar revenues at that. Again, one could wonder what their interest in this space is and whether a merger could be something down the line.
Regardless, I’m still ridiculously excited about where we are currently at. Don’t fear, we’ve seen some astonishingly positive developments of late :)

as i am long term i would agree but i think our path is set due to our buy out ?
Do we really want to get locked in to Facebook and oculus again? I’m not sure it was all that great for us the first time round... probably why matchett shifted over to mobile.
I’d much rather us concentrate on the app for mobile phones with its potentially bazillions of users, than oculus which is still a pretty niche product.
Lofas
Read in between the lines , why was we on Oculus 2 front page ??? for me everything is in place .
I believe as well, however this evening I feel deflated.
Hope Mel has something In his sleeve:-)
Lofas
i believe and only my opinion that Melody are in a brilliant place and none of us know whats going on , but we was allowed to buy Napster ------- so for me that answers every thing ?? look at the debt and the companies owed ----------------
No need to panic, Tidal is owned in part by a lot of famous artists being Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Daft Punk, Jack White, Madonna, Arcade Fire, Alicia Keys, Usher, Chris Martin, Calvin Harris, deadmau5, Jason Aldean and J. Cole this has been the case for several years! Facebook has to provide a selection of music taste and experiences. MelodyVR are partners by choice and they offer a different experience. The fact MelodyVR is part of the offering advertised on the Oculus Quest 2 isn’t by accident. Chill LTH’s relax there is plenty to come!! GLA
How many live shows do live nation put on a year ?
How many live shows do tidal put on a year ?
Melody is all about live shows now and when the world gets back to some normality
AIMO
The level of marketing via ticketmaster , live nation etc suggest this is a huge concern in its own right . Live nation could make a play as previously discussed . That’s the bigger rainbow at the moment more than VR on a slowEr adoption curve . Build it and they will come . It’s build , it’s rocking and rolling . Content is king .
Lord, lots of questions and no answers at the moment. Tidal has a very good sound quality and their current size is similar to Napster. We don’t have info regarding their VR capabilities. However COO Lior has direct links to Israel which is the land of startup and as far as tech they will be able to catch up with Melody assuming that current NVR tech has some kind of advantage. As Italian mentioned, so far melody were not able to demo their ability to attract top performers and that is a major concern.
Pud snap
Lofas
it dont make sense that melody was on the front of Oculos 2 page and part of F/B , why would they allow that if there was no interest in Melody , i must be honest i don't understand !! who has allowed Melody to buy out Napster then , who is bank rolling it if we are assuming its not F/B !!! could F/B be behind both to bring together later -------------------------
Potentially Terrible news re tidal however seems to be a contradiction with the oculus advert showing melody in the window view. Maybe tidal have just took the place of next vr . Room for 2 ? I often chooose between Disney plus , Netflix amazon or Apple TV so I guess it’s not the end of the world . Sooner we get our consolidated position with Napster snapped up the better . Pound and out.
Italian, sharing your concerns. The biggest name NVR managed some far is John legend, whereas Tidal is connected directly to Beyoncé and friends. And there music is streamed in high definition which is their strong selling point. Not sure the long term impact on NVR fortune however up to now Melody were not able to work with big names in the music industry.
Lord, PensionDeficit posted the link.
Yes, livestreaming tech and recorded music streaming space is getting crowded which is a good thing, but FB direction is not what we have hoped for.
the phrase"some of the biggest names in music"is what really worries me.this is what mvr have been missing, as they haven't had, imo, the substance and industry clout to secure the biggest names. that may change of course and FB are not the only game in town, but quite negative news imo im afraid.
Lofas
where can i see this please.
Hi MrH, looks that MrZ stitched us...what’s you take on the following,
Today (September 16), TIDAL has announced that it’s teaming up with Facebook’s virtual reality platform Oculus on live, immersive, and “intimate” music performances in the Venues app (available on the Oculus Quest) and on TIDAL’s own platform.
Money11/Lofas
we need to see what the show unveils , not saying good news but the Napster buy caught us out so we dont know ?? we are being controlled by one of the big 6 and for me the stepping stones lead to F/B but ?? i would much rather us take on the big 6 so who is in the back ground . imo .
Has anybody watched Facebook connect with Mark Zim ? An did they say anything about MVR?
