Lordfont...The FB Oculus2 advert with MVR on the front page, was it from FB? or was it made up by somebody else.! So to make out MVR are closer to FB than we think.
Somebody did a Pro mo ad on Apple Glasses a few months back, that was false.
It’s just that I can’t find the advert on Facebook Oculus quest. If you could pass on the link, I’d be great full.

I think Melody are in the best position to take advantage of the billion new subscribers that will be joining the VR/AP revolution and as some on here have pulled in the threads that asia is a big part of this billion , then Africa will be the next billion . yes i think the fact Melody was on the front media campaign for Oculus 2 was played down but imo was a huge endorsement for Melody and i agree that Sony must be in the mix with the threads from previous posts . and with us hopefully taking on the big 6 and giving artists a proper music platform ( maybe not as greedy as the cooperate 6 so more attractive for the up and coming which will be the A stars in a few years ) is the best path for the next 2 years or value 3 billion , which for me will be SH and AH OUT . i can see a buying frenzy when this opens if the next deals/ partners are as big as what we are expecting , GLA lth :)
yes agree that lower pricepoint will help shift in larger numbers.there is to my mind, a psychological difference between £400 and £300. so think it will make a big difference.the prominence of the melody logo is intriguing,i agree and obviously i hope it has the significance being attributed to it.time will tell.
Hi Stu222, having watched Facebook Connect and the article I posted, Facebook obviously took their eye off the ball regarding VR and ‘rooms’ etc, they have now corrected this with ‘Horizon’ and the new Quest 2, MZ stated several years ago he wanted 1 Billion people to adopt VR, the Oculus Go wasn’t good enough and the Quest was too expensive, MelodyVR also trialled 1000’s of with clients, this feedback would be useful to Facebook.
I believe there is synergy between the decision to offer the Quest 2 at the lower price, there has also been lessons learnt in the manufacturing, I believe Quest 2 will be a great hit around Xmas, games will appeal to the majority, but others will require something else, MelodyVR and others will provide the something else, Music and Theatre experiences, along with other experiences, especially for the Japanese/South Korea market, I also believe Sony will be a factor!
Together with the Live Nation events, ‘Napster’ or MelodyVR whatever the name will be the new platform.GLA
Facebook have made this a loss leader to shift as many units as possible and get as many people into vr. I think a subscription model will help with this as £300 is still quite an amount for some. It also hasn't gone unnoticed on here that the Melody logo is front and centre of the quest 2 promotions and with our previous tie in with them I think its a possibility at least.
stu just read the article.i cannot answer your question, although if pushed i would say "no' although interesting speculation.the two most salient points for me are the references to a loss leading product and an aggressive approach and the disquiet expressed over the compulsory Facebook tie in.i have felt the latter point was highly negative since it was first announced, but i speak as someone who wouldn't dream of opening a Facebook or similar account, so not really a representative view..certainly think that november is goingto be interesting though.
Just a question and please shoot me down at will.
At £300 retail is the Quest 2 Melody's viewer? This would work with a £20 plus a month on a 24 month contract for our basic package with live streams and theatre costing extra but reduced for subscribers? Timing also works as the napster deal should be in place before Xmas. The article also states that ghe XR2 chip improves resolution on 360 videos.
