Dead as the proverbial Dodo!
I owned some shares in this years ago but had to sell before they inevitably took off. Many years later and I spent ages trying to remember the name of this company because I was curious. Not suprised to see they finally went down but didn't expect to see an active chat forum lol.
So what happened in the end, are they still operating or is Motive dead as a dodo?
Hi Shaa,
Imagine the sketch where Rodney is speaking - 'Dell, can you come here quick. Is someone using our World first PVR ?' and Dell replying 'Blimey Rodney - I think you are right'

CT
Lol CT!
Who knows with potential NDA’s in place and our Tech was/is non-transferable.
Hi Shaa, yes and perhaps this all ties in with the RNS's about license fees for Motive's mobile tech.
It seems to me that all of the technical pieces of each of the Products 'Jig-saw' are now aligned. When Motive developed the Patents and Tech, ATSC 3 networks had not been rolled-out. Mobile Chipset's would not have been 'ready to go' and the applications and various standards were still in progress. It looks like these work items have reached maturity now.
So the question we must all ask now is 'Dell - boy, has this time next year finally arrived ?'
Hi CT, all interesting as we were always stating viewing on mobile devices will be big.
If I remember we developed the world’s first PVR for mobile devices.
And India is looking to mandate ATSC 3 chips in all new Smart Phones.

I’m looking for six with the seventh coming from heaven.
Correct Jjjersey.
And then there were three…
Morning, this looks interesting too, future phones could incorporate 6G Modems - could ATSC 3 Datacasting Tech be considered 6G ?

Some more Disney Magic would be nice, after all it is the Season.
Keeping the Faith
That's great, many thanks Shaa.
Morning Shaa. Good idea. As always thanks for the effort
Morning all, some saying this thread disappeared - thought I would post to keep it going.
Good research by Parkez & Shaa and nice to read the posts. But...
How could we pursue a case here? Who owns the non transferable tech and where would the money come from to pursue any case regarding patent rights etc?
Nice to see the dreams of what might have been/might be ....
Hi Shaa, Parkez. excitement remains contained but never far away lol. Thanks for the vigilance :~))
My limited research Parkez at the time showed me that eyetimeTV had brought the lot.
Went to Guideppe the original founder of MTV and if I remember correctly Tony Combe was working there.
Yea Tech was non transferrable so don’t know, maybe something to do with Spanish court case and we have to let a certain time pass away?
I bet someone just looking in and seeing a handful of posts on here might be getting excited, lol.
Hi Shaa, yes its seems plausible...it was just out of interest to start with and then I thought this all seems familiar, was getting optimistic for a while.
Then I did some research on patents and liquefied companies...seems they no longer belong to MTV, so it doesn't matter what they are/could be in. They are sold along with everything else.
How that effects the non transferable licences...I do not know.
Anyway...good to bring back MTV memories...lol.
