You're right - SFR down a massive 0.17%. We'd all better sell. It's obviously a reaction to the terrible news that SFR has found shallow, high grade copper at A4.
An alternative prognosis: SFR, as a producer, is susceptible to the rise and fall of copper prices. Coronavirus has hit copper prices (so e.g. Rio, Glencore were down 2-3% yesterday). SFR would have also fallen by similar % without the A4 drilling news, which added to SFR's price.
It's good news for SFR, even better for MTR, given its uncapped net smelter royalty.
Sand fire share price went down on the news !
Thanks for posting. ATB
Cobre IPO now scheduled for 31st January.
Hopefully this is the start of positive news and a positive share price.
Finally we are getting back on track with those great updates we used to get from MOD when they first started drilling this huge area, only now it’s coming from Sandfire who have a much greater war chest of resources available to really get stuck into this prospect. This could be the start of a great run of news from MTR, those who have been patiently holding should soon be rewarded as news begins to come in now and we have less shares in circulation thanks to the ongoing buyback scheme; re-rate could be swift if the market grasps what is coming here.
Out of the blue crazy shallow depths , good news, imagine Cobre IPO-ing as well tonight .... LOL to think some fruitcake was selling at 1.31p this week...
Sandfire Managing Director and CEO, Karl Simich, said the results generated since the start of the Company’s expanded exploration campaign in Botswana in November last year were testament to the scale of the exploration opportunity in the Kalahari Copper Belt.
“For Sandfire to be able to report such encouraging results from the first holes into a newly- discovered shallow zone of mineralisation so soon after the MOD acquisition clearly demonstrates the outstanding potential of this copper belt,” he said.
“While the A4 Dome is a high priority for us in the immediate future, there are a number of other compelling targets planned to be drilled along the belt in this accelerated program,” Mr Simich added.
“Given its proximity to the T3 Project, we are ramping up the drilling with two additional rigs currently being sourced to scope out the potential of this exciting target.”
