Thanks for the really in depth response and explanation. I will most certainly do some additional research although from what you have mentioned in definitely not a trader, as with all the shares own in different areas I’m looking at medium to long term.
Evening F. First thing is DO NOT invest your money based solely on what you read on these boards (or Twitter). I learnt that the hard way many years ago and it took me a long time to get that money back. Also do some reading to understand the basics, like market cap, ask/bid/spread, etc and decide if you are buying as a speculator/investor or as trader - they are very different. There is an incredible amount of information out there so always keep learning. Books obviously are the best but I find podcasts are a great source of info - driving/walking the dog.
Hydrogens post are great and they are based on fact with that bit of hope/luck. The point is the exploration model that KML are using is based on the down structure that MOD proved up by finding the T3 deposit and the subsequent A4 resource discovery. (The irony is the KML ground was previously misinterpreted by MOD (quickly google synclines and anticlines)) KML have an excellent team of geologists that have put a lot of work into the ground, NOTHING is guaranteed in exploration but the odds of KML finding copper is high, the beauty as H has touched on is that it doesn’t HAVE to be a massive deposit because SFR already building a mine (for T3) it just needs to be economical. A4 drilling (Sandfire) has hit an intersect with some copper at 61% - this is unheard of - so there is high grade copper in the belt. The high grade the more valuable, especially to SFR to feed their mine. Expecting some M&A (merger and acquisition) by that I mean SFR will want any copper if it’s there, that will come buy either buying KML or one of its owners. IMO they will take out Cobre - great for MTR.
Read and read. ATB.
Thanks makes more sense now. I should have worked that out really lol.
Either way I’m here long term as I believe it’s the only way but I can’t help check on my shares every day and the share chat just for the fun of it all.
Thanks Hydro. Makes sense now
No problem Fr4nky. It's straightforward really. Market cap—or market capitalization—refers to the total value of all a company's shares of stock. It is calculated by multiplying the price of a stock by its total number of outstanding shares. For example, a company with 20 million shares selling at $50 a share would have a market cap of $1 billion. Your comparison case here would reflect 10x shares outstanding in the second case Vs the first case.
Thanks Geckos, appreciate the response. Yeah I’ve seen quite a bit from the regular posters etc.
I’ve only just started adding more companies to my portfolio so although been investing small amounts Nkre recently I still get confused by some things.
You mention that MTR may be a 1bil company. What
I don’t understand sometimes is why a company can be let’s say valued at 50million and be around 20p a share, but another company can be also around 20p but LSE has them valued at say 500million?
Mostly I have been investing most from word of mouth from people I trust and have a good knowledge of investing although i just thought I’d ask the views of a few on here.
Thanks again
Fr4nky while there's no crystal ball here review posts by Hydrogen, Forest, Taylot in particular as plenty of good research and resource links to DYOR on Metal Tiger. Speaking personally I have consolidated significantly behind my original midterm holding in recent days and am very comfortable on LT outlook for MTR being above 1Bn GBP value diversified miner. Not today not tomorrow but in time.
Evening all, I am a new invested to MTR and can see that there seem to be plenty of very informative posters here.
I’ve been going through as much info on this company as I can but wanted your views on the drilling that is taking place at the moment? Where do we see the share price being in the next 12 months?
I’m asking as although I’m invested I can’t quite make my mind up where this share will be (although I’ve heard nothing but good things)
Current share price is at decent levels although it seems it’s been hit and miss over the years.
Cheers
Fr4nky
