Hi Gfhhf
There is no set timeframe, and don't forget nothing has been agreed yet!! CAY took six months to get theirs through, though this was longer than expected. CAY was also presented to shareholders as a done deal, and we have far from that here.
Well guys I don't know what the fuss is, we're all wining here!
Menzies was the largest holding in my pf before this week, and its just shot up over 70% since last Friday. A little top slicing for me midweek, but my goodness what a great week its been - the best for me since "V" day on 9 November 2020. Happy Days :)
Hi Exponential, I am relaxed mate, just frustrating when boards get over run. There have been more messages on this board in 2 days than in over 2 years. And I think it is quite unfair when new posters are suggesting the board is greedy for not selling.
Then any of the old timers here get lambasted as we actually understand the company and its real value.
Same thing happened on many of the other boards, the share rises then suddenly all these experts appear.
Any way nice to meet you and hope you do well.

Is here any reason in company law that the 2021 results can not be brought forward ? I find the caveat that the OFFER price would reduce if a Dividend is declared by dividend amount ,see NAS own RNS on conditions of offer price
MNZS had a trading average above this low offer in the 3 years prior to Covid travel restrictions.
bearing in mind the restrictions did not apply to Freight flights or flights to keep slots open, the 2021 results may well be a very pleasant read . IMHO
Just relax and enjoy the ride mate. Nothing anyone posts on here is gonna change anything
Unhooked...sorry I have no idea who you are.
I am totally chilled.
Its such a shame when a share moves all the new guys jump in with their comments. Go read my post history on MNZS from April 2020 and you will understand a little more what myself and a few early investors saw. We understand the company and its value. And more importantly why 510p is a very opportunistic offer and totally unacceptable, even more so on the eve of the 2021 results being released on March 8th. This is a 700p plus stock.
I’m sorry the real value of this company and all its employees and history as one of Scotlands oldest companies doesn't marry with your greedy little opportunistic 20% gain.
I truly hope this does not sell, it will give me great satisfaction to own part of this incredible company and be part of the success story of a wonderful company that so many people are dependent on, rather than some get lucky tin pot investor.

Can someone knowlegable explain what are forms 8.3 and 8.5 keep issuing RNS about ?
@highstakes,thanks.
Your shares disappear from your account and the cash appears.
i've seen rumours of up to 700p, within a minimum of 600p the benchmark, however, i'm less convinced NAS will go that high. They don't want to walk away though so early next week will come back with a take it or leave it offer. 560p is my guess, happy for it to be higher
Good morning, same as everyone here I’m so pleased that I bought into Menzies a while ago.I am somewhat confused though. If I were to hold until and after the takeover, are my shares automatically cashed in or do they become shares in the new company?
TIA

How long would a deal take to go through from agreement ? Just need to move some shares into my isa ?
Also worth saying that, if a 560p bid were offered and accepted, the share will continue to trade on the market for a while until the deal is finalised ( With The trading range likely to remain tight at a very small % below the agreed price).
Chill convb, many of us are not the investing legend that you are. Maybe we didn't buy this share so cheap that the divi will yield "30%", or buy it so plentifully that future income from this share will be in "6 figures"....
It's ok that you feel the need to show off about your trading prowess, but it makes your opinion of limited relevance. I won't talk about credibility.
For many of the rest of us - I mean those who are not as masterful as you obviously - a 50-60% return in a few months is satisfactory.
Tickety - If the company is sold for say 560p you’ll get 560p per share you own into your Trading212 available balance and your Menzies shares will then disappear.
shandypants2, I think you’ll be right. 560p take it or leave it.
In fairness, on one hand I’d be very happy with 560p on the other I’ll be quite sad to loose Menzies in my portfolio and the dividends.
Madness to think I was buying this at £1 a share back in 2020, I took £9,200 off the table on a sell at 250p and bought back in at 215p
I can’t really ask for more. I’ll also be thankful for Menzies.
I’m new to trading and very happy I invested in Menzies.
I trade using 212. In the event a bid is successful, what happens to the shares?
Do they simply get sold and replaced with the cash value on the trading platform?
Apologies for probably a basic question but as I say, pretty new to this.
Thanks in advance.
560p take it or leave it offer coming IMHO
It has to borne in mind that these are not ordinary times. 5 years ago the world was a different place and Menzies was a different company.
It still had its very profitable distribution division and the company made the decision to reposition itself as an air freight/passenger focussed company.
What we are seeing now is the result of this repositioning, it’s just taken longer than the board hoped for because of Covid.
The bigger dividends will come and that’s why NAS want to get Menzies on the cheap.
Hang on and it will all come good.
You need to relax Convb...and you are welcome to your opinion..... however not everyone would agree.
Bigbench...I don't care what other investors do or think. I was buying these sub £1 in April 2020.
The intrinsic value of the company is based on current revenue and projected/growth of revenue.
Just because some people late to the party may make 100% return does not make the 510p a fair offer. Even at 300% plus I am not wishing to sell at 500 or 600p If it starts with a 7 I am more interested, but very happy to sit and collect my dividends
I reckon DNATA will throw their hat in the ring, or WFS
I understand what you are saying but this was sub £3 a week ago... how many investors do you think would turndown a 100%+ increase.. not many id bet... a bird in the hand and all that.
