I bought quite a few on 26th. Still holding now, so I guess I'm eligible for the dividend payment ? Thx.
Ex dividend date slightly misleading in my view. Ex div day was announced as 28th Mar but 27th was actually the last day to hold shares to get the dividend. Might help some, new to holding shares myself.
Spikeyj, your so particular with your attention to detail? only joking mate
Let's hope we can all make some money for our gambling sins
Happy Bank Holiday all
“Buying today will earn the right to the next two dividends …”
- only if those shares held until those next ex-div dates.
Drop pretty much as expected really no disasters, will be reinvesting dividends here and should this drop back to the 190s will be happy to add more, but hopefully it will keep on rising instead
gla
Stock Market closed tomorrow.. Need to wait until Tuesday.
Weird the SP has fallen a little more than the dividend. Although it’s EXD today with dividend at 13p I would expect to fall maybe 8 or 9p. It’s better to by these shares EXD really, no tax and bigger saving than the dividend. I guess people will top up tomorrow before ISA closing day and we could see a small bounce back…
Hi you have to purchase before the ex div date, so yesterday or earlier. Buying today will earn the right to the next two dividends over the 12 months period
Do you have to purchase before ex dividend date to get dividends? Or before declaration date. ?
Lovely
Now officially the 2nd/3rd highest div in the FTSE100 as of today
Yeah, peeved I have to wait for the new ISA allowance to be allocated in order for it to make best sense to add to the LTH..
Higher for longer rates good for M&G
Making lots of cash from annuities atm
I think we’ll recover slowly over the coming days so an easy 3-5% profit to be made plus 8% dividend next 12 months
Certainly beat the fixed rate ISAs right now
Attracted by the yield so creamed off a bit from other winners and started a holding here in ISA. As interest rates fall this SP should rise and since I am not in the bloom of youth (!) dividends matter,8% yield not to be sniffed at!
Trek the div is 13.2p this year. This time last year it was 13.4p.
I'd intended to add more but better to wait now.
The drop is exactly right for ex-d valuation.
Forgot to say we also are up for payment from DEC divi today which would fund a new purchase of MNG at a good price
ATB Robsky
It is difficult to second guess the market Trek I tend to buy on ex divi day on the drop then sell some after the clawback while increasing overall holding and still having divi to play with or withdraw to help fund the purchase on the ex day, it worked very well from last year ATB
Robsky
13.5p divi 13.3p drop.
Last time I seem to recall the drop was way higher than the divi but it did claw its way back/
Of course it would be different this time as I was going to add a few after the divi!
Keep guessing eh!
Usual caveats
Trek
Ex dividend
What's for the drop
: /
So we had better brace ourselves for the drop then, let's hope it's not too painful
& a few more.
“SP must have been affected DLGs retrace today though ?”
The whole market seems to be in reverse today.
