Completed large 3 year double bottom in June 2023, with the first sp, bottom, being in March 2020. The double bottom is bullish, with a price target of 1500, to meet falling down trendline. In the meantime there is overhead supply at 1400, which may slow upward progress to the target sp, of 1500.
I presume you are one of those keyboard warriors that seem to be everywhere now a days.
i make that presumption based on the fact that you are obviously economically illiterate .
skg post dire numbers and finishes 2%. mondi is mondi and so drops 2% lol
sell this ***** boys, she is going to give yoy aids
Waffle Waffle Waffle. So why you here then? You've not said one thing to justify your claims. You just throw outlandish SP predictions out there without any explanation of your calculations. Do you think this crap works? Who are you working for?
Meanwhile: JPMorgan raises Mondi to 'overweight' (neutral) - price target 1,355 (1,606) pence
Bargepole now - BOD have massively destroyed shareholder value
Get out whilst its still above 5 quid peons
@Apendragon Perhaps you could give a couple of examples of how the CEO is mismanaging it? The energy crisis is certainly not his fault and I would argue neither is the Russia situation, which although earmarked for sale, is still contributing to the income statement as discontinued earnings.
I would also be interested in why you think these factors will effectively cause bankruptcy for this £6B company with solid balance sheet and heaps of cash. So is it £5 per share or the end? It cannot be both.
Apendragon,
Is that you Jim Cramer? With all due respect, you’ve made some terrible investing decisions with Boohoo and Novacyt, losing a pretty penny in the process, so what value does your opinion have? Your comment isn’t even logical. I wish I backed the opposite side of your previous trades. Might have to increase my weighting if you’re this confident in Mondi’s alleged demise. My advice: stick to playing Dungeons & Dragons. Are you shorting Mondi?
Looks like the CEO is failing to turn this around - are the instis losing confidence? Huge 200k sells going through today which seems to imply Mondi is heading back to the days of 5GBP. I assume the energy crises in SA and the inability to sell the russian assets will be the beginning of the end for this dog.
Agreed that the fall this morning was overdone. Results looked ok to me as well, but as is often the case in this situation the price has retraced a large percentage of the loss after the first hour. Same with British Aerospace.
Despite the RNS saying "Strong performance in 2022; delivering our strategy" the results saw Mondi SP fall 7% early today. The recommendation from Motley Fool a few weeks ago probably didn't help.
I look through the results and they look pretty stunning to me with PBT up 119%. The second half gains did not quite live up to first half of 2022. Maybe markets were expecting a bigger rise than 8% in dividend or the slight note of caution on the future outlook and demand and softer pricing has spooked investors.
Anyway @1376 looks oversold and good value to me.
And how is that money repatriated form a Russian territory exactly?,
given the war. I thought there was a ban on money leaving Russia?.
No surprise that the sp has rallied on the Russian sale news, given that the disposal price of £1.5B represents around 20% of the market cap for the entire company.
not got that much exposure to Ukraine related business , and any will probably be written off by tax reduction gain with a bit of creative accounting
Mondi should have stayed in the UK, Its a much safer place than eastern Europe. Could become costly for them.
see my previous message
Russian operations are not subject to sanctions otherwise they would have stated.ukraine plant is miniscule in terms of oveall production sell overdone
I'm assuming this share is affected more than most as it has interests in Ukraine and Russia.
Following on from the chairman, Philip Yea purchasing 5000 shares in October, a person closely associated to the CFO has bought heavily today by purchasing over 5000 shares.
Another sign of confidence.
Took the plunge and bought a few today.
It seems to mean a company is trading more on fundamental analysis rather than retail buyers trying to pump a stock. I've seen nice and steady growth (although not much, just 4.5%) the last 3 weeks.
Good luck to anyone who may visit this page eventually :-)
3 weeks of green and still no interest
haha, came back, still no messages.
poor MNDI
so sad
:-(
I guess not many people are interested in Mondi? I'm currently looking at the stock, and note that August 6th Credit Suisse announced a target of 2500, just after a +14% growth earnings call on the 4th. But since the 4th where there was this nice growth, the share has dropped 12%.
Personally I'm wondering if we will see a small upward trend from today.
GLA
This share is so interesting, it's been a year since the last post.
there's a grain of grisly truth to your facetious remark
average 13 years lost by 5-10% of over 65s....that's perhaps 1-2% off liabilities
