Well, we can at least expect Lotus to make an announcement about their potential MDA in the coming weeks or at least before year end so I guess from that we will have an idea of progress if Mkango doesn't get in there first that is :)
They will happily take our cash, but the jury is firmly out on whether we get anything approaching a decent ROI for this next round of handouts/investments.
That quote sounds rather ominous to me, meaning I have my doubts, but hope to be wrong, naturally.
Happens all the time that
My earlier purchase is showing as a sell...strange website this..
'“We are trying to learn as much as possible from our big brothers, who have been in the industry for a long time,” stated Monica Chang’anamuno, Minister of Mining of Malawi. “We need to have one voice – African countries should start approaching critical minerals as a bloc that can allow us to control the opportunity. We would like to partner and build country-to-country agreements with other African countries with the same minerals.”
“Tanzania has a gold refinery and is developing refineries for nickel and graphite. Other African countries can use Tanzania as their gateway for producing, processing and adding value to these minerals,”said Kiruswa. “When you have value addition in place, the multiplier effect is tremendous.”
UK pledges R20 million
The UK will help African countries identify and develop bankable opportunities within their critical minerals value chains, with a view to promoting responsible exploration and development, capturing greater value and effectively managing extractive sector revenues
During the summit, the United Kingdom announced a pledge to help African countries expand their critical mineral supply chains – with a focus on promoting mineral exploration and processing, generating value-added activities and creating local jobs.
“African countries rightly have a high level of ambition for unlocking the value of their natural resources and the UK will work with them in partnership to support delivery of their ambitions,” stated Ambassador Antony Phillipson, British High Commissioner to South Africa. “We are committed to increasing our investment in the continent and strengthening the transparency and resilience of the supply chain for critical minerals – creating green jobs in Africa, while taking action on climate change.”

The proof in the pudding is in the eating, crumbs.
Until those public 'servants' actually walk the walk, the market is simply no longer going to give any benefit to the doubt on Songwe.
Nor will I, until or unless we see the ink dried on this never ending saga.
So, this is a 'hold', rather than a 'buy' IMO.
It is only the big inside purchase of the CEO, plus the interesting and ongoing progression of the battery stuff, that has kept me here at the time of print.
'The price of Neodymium rises to the highest since April 2023, with further price increases expected

'“Mining is capital intensive – therefore, we need to make sure we offer incentives to investors, so they can have a win-win situation.” - Hon. Monica Chang’anamuno, Minister of Mining, Republic of Malawi

She seems to get it ... much better than those that come out derogatory 'middlemen' comments

Little mention that we are still in the frame towards the bottom.
Buy opportunity. I'll be waiting until the end of the month to see financials.
Really surprised that the share price hasn't moved following the announcement that the UK and US governments are now involved with the recycling side of the business. This is potentially bigger news than the MDA for me, because of the contracts/expansion it could lead to. This share is so far under the radar it's unreal.
Planning to invest????

Bit of RE tit for tat incoming maybe!!
@MkangoResources New Updated Corporate Presentation #MKA Has announced that it will be attending the 19th International #RareEarths Conference in San Antonio, U.S. 🇺🇸 hosted by Metal Events, from October 18-20, 2023.
https://twitter.com/Share_Talk/status/1714567571205156891
HyProMag Ltd, the corporate presentation has been updated in line with Mkango’s vision and strategy of sustainably sourcing rare earths for the green transition. https://www.share-talk.com/mkango-resources-ltd-aim-tsx-v-mka-updated-corporate-presentation/
Conference should be interesting
Shame they don't have a recycling panel, or a presentation from MKA but suspect we will be able to present on a smaller scale during meet-ups etc.
Some big hitters there (Lynas, GM, DoE)
https://metalevents.com/events/19th-international-rare-earths-conference
Familiar names also, Rainbow, LCM et al.
Probably the reason for the new presentation out today, I am sure it will be showcased over there
I think this is great exposure for our tech, it is truly at the breakthrough stage so where other companies presenting will be the 'same old same old' we do truly have a new ground breaking technology, with near term production to show off. Not to mention we have already established a US subsidiary and have proven tech in the UK to rollout in other territories pretty much 'ready to go'
Yep - the more you read it the more you think - what the heck is the share price doing down at these levels!
A great updated presentation on first pass. Lots of detail.
MDA position 'Mine Development Agreement (MDA) currently being finalised' let's get that over the line asap. Lots of fingers in lots of pies so an exciting time ahead.
You know it's just Alex being all jel of Will for his photo ops this week and wanting one of his own :)
Magic - I would have loved to have been amongst the flies on their wall.....
You win!! :)
Poorly written and edited article.
If middlemen is more than just an insult, the ML/MDA is where Malawi must set out its requirements on purchasers from MKA. Legitimate and normal to require that a buyer from MKA must be able to deliver the mine etc, no Delboys and Rodneys for example.
