That was a very impressive presentation. Incredible how much work they've done on this. Securing the IP on this technology was a masterstroke.

Monica is in the news again bemoaning the fact that mining only contributes 1% to Malawi's GDP.

If only there was something she could do to address this problem.
'A new study from researchers in China and the Netherlands estimates that reusing or recycling rare earth metals from old cellphones, hard drives, electric motors and turbines could meet as much as 40 percent of the demand for the metals in the United States, China and Europe by 2050.
It’s a promising prospect, particularly for the United States, which relies heavily on imports of these materials, often just called rare earths. That reliance, industry experts say, can make American supply chains vulnerable to disruption and geopolitical risks.'

A nice recent article from our guy in Germany

Fair enough. If I said that, then I apologise for the oversight.
I will not post here again until we either get MDA news or something else of a material nature. Good weekend all.
NySize... don't go in too hard on LWHL, I have been sat refreshing my phone for a good week now waiting on an update of his trading status, finally it came. When he said he would disappear until MDA news came along, I was honestly a little gutted.
Why would you think anyone remotely cares if you're neither a buyer or a seller here though? There are thousands of shares I'm neither a buyer or a seller of, but I don't feel the need to go on their chat boards and announce it.
Line I said, nobody cares about what you do with your money. Please try to comprehend that, and stop clogging up the board with your rambling pointless inanity.
Once more for any avoidance of doubt....nobody cares if you buy or sell.
Not allegedly - it was in that RNS on 14th February last year. It was that purchase that led me to take the plunge myself.
Luckily (at the time of print anyway) the slightly larger amount I built up over that year and which I offloaded in those last spikes in late 2023, means the bookmark holding I kept is merely an annoyance, rather than the evaporation of decent profit.
There was a time when I would have simply sat tight, but expensive historic lessons in this space have been learnt.
And if we shortly see news that blasts the SP much higher than the 12's, before a potential raise or a non-dilutive finance deal, then that will be fine too. I will be happy for those PI's that have held on.
And I would rather the small remaining stake I have goes into profit (which would be the first time for that tranche), rather than have to dump it for a tax loss (if I deem it appropriate, depending on news at the time).
Until then, I am neither a buyer or seller here. Just a waiting game. GLA.
LWHL, why don't you tell us all again about how you're invested here for the 'battery stuff'. That was hilarious.
No way of knowing - if they dilute then the cash goes on the balance sheet anyway so it's not likely to move the share price much - a premium I would assume is unlikely but then who knows, allegedly the CEO took £100k @ 12.9p last year ...
Of course. It must be me that is responsible for the three year low print today. All those sells over the past few weeks...you got me! You sure are one smart cookie. Just block me if you find my posts triggering, churl.
That is pretty much what I think too, bonker. Hopefully they can secure a finance deal that is not detrimental to current shareholders. Maybe a placing at a premium even? I have seen that happen elsewhere in the past.
GLA while we wait for something definitive.
"I cannot see much support until the 6's."
It's above 8, you sad FUD spreading troll. Nobody cares about your fictitious buy order.
Try to understand that your trading games and trying to talk the price down have no place here. You're just a tiresome whining bore who emits a constant negative drone.
They're just about out of cash I think so I think we'll see something pretty soon - anything below 8p is at a discount to Cotec's marked-to-market valuation of £20m remember though so if it goes there I and others will slam it hard.
An incredibly exciting year ahead here, I'm really looking forward to it - I noted Samsung's Galaxy S24 reveal the other night mentioning recycled Rare Earths in their phones - how about that for a partner eh?
https://news.samsung.com/global/enter-the-new-era-of-mobile-ai-with-samsung-galaxy-s24-series
Yep. I pulled my buy order the other day, as I knew 8p would not hold and I cannot see much support until the 6's.
Obviously positive news drops and it is a different game, but as far as Songwe goes, that 'any day now' record is broken.
Does anyone here know how we are doing on cash burn?
I bought in originally on the premise of Songwe being concluded (long) before this point. CoTec funding aside, it would be good to know where we stand.
8.25.....is that the bottom bonkers/
Whatever happens it looks like we’ll be in the 6s before any news drops. It’s no wonder a lot of these African nations are in the dark ages given their attitude to expediency. I’m starting to feel we’re going nowhere until we have a way out of these wars.
Yeah sounds like Mkangos project will have more chance of getting their MDA before Lotus.. still waiting for Mining Review to report back on progress
At least MKA is a new project. No legacy issues like Lotus' with Paladin. We might even get our MDA first. We know Malawi want it too and have issued one already to Globe. MKA's will probably turn mainly on funders' requirements.

Seems like the Malawian MoM is playing hardball with Lotus. I wonder what this means for Mkango.
Cotec have already marked it to market @ at least £20m/8p - I guess they're going to place @ 8p for a few million of cash for the year ahead but let's see.
It will be higher - tomorrow RNS coming - thursday is always the optimum day and the few leaky buys this afternoon are inevitable - and in some ways reassuring.
I agree, I’m just not sure whether it will be higher or lower 😂
Inevitable IMO - that's small mining companies/share prices for you.
I'll bet all the money in my pockets against all the money in your pockets that it won't be anywhere near 8p come Q2 though.
