Reds tables highest offer for Crete military base
https://www.ekathimerini.com/economy/1173243/reds-tables-highest-offer-for-crete-military-base/
Greek developer Reds has offered the highest bid for a sprawling former US military base on Crete at 40.2 million euros, privatization agency TAIPED said on Monday.
Four investors bid in October to acquire the 85-acre plot in Gournes, outside the city of Iraklio, and turn it into a seaside tourist resort with an entertainment park.
TAIPED, which is handling the sale, initially chose three of them and last month unsealed their offers.

Greece–Saudi Arabia to Boost Ties with Investments, Tourism and Trade

Tourism, investments and trade topped the agenda of talks between Greek Tourism Minister Vasilis Kikilias and Saudi Arabia Investment Minister Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, during his recent official visit to Athens.
The Saudi minister said tourism was an ideal springboard to further enhance relations between the two countries. In this direction, he requested that tourism sector professionals accompany Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on his upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Arabia investment ministry and Enterprise Greece, the country’s official investment and trade promotion agency, signed an agreement this week to facilitate investor activity between the two nations. An agreement to establish a business council between the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) and the Council of Saudi Chambers followed.
“We reaffirmed our mutual will to strengthen economic cooperation by tapping into business opportunities and promoting investment in both countries,” said Georgiadis, who confirmed that a delegation of entrepreneurs from Greece would be visiting Saudi Arabia next month.
A mission of Saudi businesspersons will be visiting Greece by the end of the year, he said.
"I think Greece is much stronger today than it has been over the past decade"

"I have never seen as much interest in long term investing in the country. Whatever asset is put up for sale, be it private or public receives valuations that far exceed our most optimistic forecast. I think this is a vote of confidence in the government, but mostly a vote of confidence in the Greek economy and the Greek people. Now, the reason why people invest in Greece is not just related to the government. We provide the framework, we view ourselves as catalysts that allow the creative energy of Greeks to express itself in the same way that it has done in the US, in Australia, and this explosion of creativity we see in Greece today is particularly encouraging."
