No. I've known about it for at least a year/18 months, which is ehy i hsve a more cautious take on matters.
Interested to know why you no longer post about it though Masters ... you used to.
You only discovered that now. I've known about the whole situation from day 1 when they raided the heron field and stopped the drilling.
Nothing new here. I posted it back in 2019
So why do you sound nervous, Hamm?
Curious market knows the whole situation with the locals.
We are waiting for the government to give the LP.
PC is still operating so do not worry too much about the activists.
Local governor is also against PC and PM but that doesn't stop PC from exporting oil.
Loads more but you get the drift

Guys what we should understand is that regardless of the oil price Mongolia strategically need oil to be self sufficient. That is why LP is if national importance.
Petro China is huge and established. We are not Hamm.
Big difference...
The only reason the activists have gone quiet about petro matad is because last year the local govt refused to grant the local permit to petro matad and weve been unable to progress.
If people are unaware that central govt would be issuing the special purpose certification against the express vote of local politicians and locals then they haven't done their homework π
These so called activists haven't managed to stop petro china!
All if them have big 4x4! Oil is bad but they all need lots of petrol driving around for miles.
None has got any job! Their job is being activist. The question is who is paying them?
Hamm... the activists are the main reason the local permit was refused. They post the faces and addresses of anyone who shows support to petro matad stating these traitors are selling your birth right and wealth.
WOS infers that the central government proactively intervened. This is not correct. Petro Matad took it to central government as it was clear that local government were not willing or able to grant the local permit largely in part due to activist intimidation.
ππ€©curious, ok I suppose you still haven't used up your post allowance π but how about something more uplifting, ie possible Velociraptor boom π
So is this new or has Master82 has been talking complete conkers this entire time?
The total activists are 5 max! They are like stop oil over here.
It all depends on the government really.
Haven't seen mentioning MATD at all.
If for any reason MATD isn't granted LP then it could not go for any more exploration/ renewable etc etc.
Also it wouldn't generate income for MG either.
Guys who are saying MG is keeping oil for refinery should understand that MATD and PC use the same oil basin.
In any way it takes a couple of years for full production. Heron can produce oil for years to come.
Not same amount vikinglass. I post4d about 15 yesterday and WOS around 40 π²
Activists and petro matad

Curious, you've been out in force the last two days - soon close to wos number of daily posts.
Re activists, no need to try to make a big thing of them π
Until Russia's war with Ukraine goes on and China keeps getting VERY cheap oil from Russia, PC has no reason to worry about protests. Why would PC produce oil when it much cheaper and easier to buy it from Russia... So this situation will go on until the war goes on
I also think you're forgetting the activists targeted Petro Matad and lobbied (read harrassed snd intimidated!) the local government, ....which was a major reason why the local permit was not issued by local government and forced PM to seek central govt intervention.
The activists are not just solely against Petro China in Dornod.
Masters. Are there other mining companies in Dornod apart from PC and PM?
My guess is they'd extend their protest to inc PM if in the vicinity when news broke.
Whether that would have any effect though (e.g. delaying publication of decision until they've left the area) I don't know...
Yes, Doc.
I can see it.....but I hope not to!
The activists are there because of laws broken by PC. Check their last weeks posts. Oil contaminated soil being covered up and mainly to do with tax mot being paid by PC.
Remember there are other mining companies in Mongolia but they are not targeted just PC.
Can anyone else see another MB interview coming at the end of 2023 saying βitβs been another frustrating year with regards to Heron LP and we continue to push the MG to resolve this issue.β?
The activists are back physicaly protesting in Dornod Province against Petrochina.
What does the board think they will they do if news that Petro Matad has been awarded special purpose certification drops when they are actively protesting in the area?

Surely it's always been a Mongolian company. Petrovis owns 21% and biggest holder. Not sure if the majority are foreign investors. Nimbys, maybe tribal. The election may cause an issue. I suppose it all depends on how firm the government will be
