I think Petro China will know which side their bread is buttered?
New blocks, a new oil refinery to send their oil to: all at the discretion of the Mongolian Government of course.
A Government that want's Heron 1 on stream ASAP and is facilitating discussions between Petro Matad and Petro China.
I wonder what I'd do if I was Petro China? Particularly given their current low standing in the view of the general populace.
Really I don't see what could be better here:
Petro Matad have oil, a lot of oil.
The Mongolian Government want it to happen and have all the levers of power to make it happen.
So..... it will happen.
It's just a question of when, six weeks or six months.
I'm a patient man and can happily wait if it results in my getting rich.
2700 posts since I last looked just over a month .
Below 4p this morning .
I saw Mike Buck, CEO was Salamander Energy PLC Chief Operating Officer before take over.
Not a good reaction to
Mike Buck, CEO at Mongolian oil developer Petro Matad speaks to London South East/focusIR and gives an extensive operational update.
Watch the full video here.
Absolutely. What are our alternatives to PC? also, MB stated very clearly he only wants to use PC until the refinery comes online. If I was PC, I'd be thinking is it worth the hassle for such a short term agreement.
OGA should be OSA .....autocorrect....
Biggest hurdle now seems to be getting a firm OGA.
PC will know we have limited time and money so will negotiate hard and/or long to get the best deal for them...
More delays.
I have seen other companies go for a pre emptive equity raise to improve negotiating position.
Lets see what happens here
Well said TonyBaby
It is very obvious that Mike Buck is fully out of his depth.
He is definitely not CEO material.
Having held my PM shares for nearly 7 years now - it is utterly frustrating.
Will I sell - no - as that will be a financial loss currently.
Will I buy more - no - not whilst MB remains at the helm. It’s too much of an additional financial risk.
Pssst! Yes you!
I'm hearing that there's an undiscovered gem on AIM, want to know more?
Don't tell anyone where you heard this but it's a small oil exploration and production company in Mongolia, yeah Mongolia!
Market cap is less than £50m but they're sitting on a proven oil field of 60,000,000 barrels worth a minimum of 2.4 billion over the life of the field, yes that's right over 40 times it's current market valuation and all they need is a few bits of paper to make it happen! And they're lining up similar fields and drills next to adjacent producing fields over the coming years, so there should be more oil coming on in the future, lots more oil!
Oh, and renewables too.
It's a busy little company for sure and appears to be nice and cosy with the powers that be!
What's that..... you want to know the down side?
Well fair enough I suppose nothing is too good to be true eh?
Well it looks like it might not happen until next year worst case scenario. I know.... April or May when the Mongolian Winter ends: that's about 6 months!
Nah you're right. I'm an idiot. Lets see if there's any nearer term multibaggers drilling in Georgia instead shall we..... that should make us rich by Christmas?
A blue day today?
Never say never.
Well done to whoever who managed to get in or add more.
That was my buy. 😉
I agree. The significant drop in the SP was an opportunity to add which I did at sub 4p. Petro Matad shares have been one of my most successful shares for trading on volatility alongside my long term holdings. Once the oil flows or a start date is confirmed for actual oil flow comes the SP will rerate upwards strongly. If the drop in SP was a reaction to the interview then it was unwarranted in my opinion, perhaps some were frustrated at speed of progress but I have no doubt patience will be rewarded and we will see the SP move from single to double figures......at some point........just don't expect it in days or even weeks......well, might be weeks....you never know. One think I have learned in 40+ years of investing is the unexpected happens. I have had a stock double overnight (Amryt) and blue chip stocks I thought indestructible crash towards the floor overnight and eventually go bust....so don't put too much in any one stock is my advice. Just noticed SP is now 4.25p so looks like others are regarding this morning's fall as excessive.
1 million shares sold on the bell last night before this interview came out. 🤔🤷
Sat watching this again from the sideline as one of my favourite trading shares.
I've been out for a while but this is sliding back again on the chart to the buy zone
It was a good post which was deleted.
It will prove the poster was right if we get lots of big buys by big boys!
Will see.
Having just watched the interview and read people's recent comments. He came across as extremely SMUG to the point where I get the impression he thinks he's one step ahead of everyone he is dealing with. If that is the case then in my experience they tend to be "empty vessels" with little end product. Why as an example,if he is so confident, isn't he preparing the site for production?"All the equipment is in country"
POOR, VERY POOR...
Well done admin for removing post suggesting corruption on behalf of CEO, good job. Be careful what you post, laws are there to protect people from Libellous and Defamatory post.
The market's just doing it's thing after that upbeat interview.
Excellent SP to add imo.
GLE
Progress clearly being made on all fronts.
Government agencies want Heron on stream this year so there's every chance that'll happen.
Government agencies are facilitating talks with Petro China, a little bit of carrot and little bit of stick?
So I'm sure they'll play ball and make money out the process.
New fields adjacent to existing producing fields, one block currently uncontested.
Mention of the Refinery and Mongolia's clear desire to build the industry.
Renewables will be huge.
What to do now?
Hold and buy more if able?
I like Mr Buck. He appears to be honest and straight forward as well as dogged. Probably just what's needed to acheive results, eventually, in Mongolia?
The drop will correct and then rise through August.
When the Heron 1 RNS comes you wouldn't want to be out.
Worst case scenario is that the Share Price will do what it does every year. Dips in October and November and then picks up in January and February, only this year by then we'll have the news we've been waiting for.
I think you are right Sollo - IT STINKS!
Best thing that could happen to PM is MB going. Useless CEO has no place here.
I definitely think SP would rocket if MB resigned
He has bought nothing but failure
BP - I don’t think PC would be allowed to take them over. And anyone else isn’t going to touch PM with a barge pole when there’s so many loose ends, such as no contract with PC.
Might have a good takeover offer. Who knows.
Best thing that could happen now for PM would be an acceptable takeover offer IMV.
Hamm (bot) - which broker do you use?
WOS - show some humility, admit you’ve got it all wrong? All this any day now now very soon was complete nonsense.
You forget I was the one who said September and which you said that timeframe was wrong and not logically thought out. It seems even I was way out. This will very unlikely now be resolved in 2023… incredible.
Why anyone is still “recommending” your posts is beyond me.
First of all I’ve always been positive on Petro Matad and one day god knows when we will be rewarded for everything we have gone through , the big problem I have is Mike Buck stating hopefully to get Heron on stream by end of year , to me that is price sensitive as we know by him saying that the price would fall , he gave a interview to LSE don’t know date but released yesterday after market closed , I’m sure if I worked for LSE I would of bailed out while price was going up yesterday ,this does not sit right, if Mike Buck had concerns or knew of delays he should of stated these facts in a RNS , this again shows what he thinks of us shareholders , I will now sit tight and await to see what happens , good luck to everyone on what ever you decide .
