Researchandhold - Battle weary
Yes you are probably right a bit battle weary but also i hope a realist and pragmatist. Will we pump oil yes we will and hopefully by the end of October. But not for a minute do i feel that this skirmish in the Eastern province is done and dusted. It is fairly obvious that we are not really welcome by the locals who perceive us like the Chinese as being callous and un respectful of the land they are working.
Now the work we have put in with the local community will and probably already has paid dividends interms of the good will it hopefully has brought us. But MB is not going to be on site through the drilling he has far more important things to do than site supervise and i really hope he has a strong minded Mongolian (preferably Eastern Province) Mongolian to site supervise. Our drilling will probably be DQE, DQE are a chinese company and their workers are probably Chinese and the disregard they have for other peoples property as seen by my post of what they have done to the Great Wall I think is systematic of their nature. So i would hope a strong site manager will put stop to the kind of abuse to the land that PC seem to have done to it. Otherwise we will get tarred by the same brush and the complaints will double up in volume (Look what the white man has done). At some point this will probably come to a head and then we will see exactly how supportive the main government. Hopefully they will be a friend and stick by us the law changes hold up or they just allow Eastern Province to governence its own region. Ie they have helped so far but now down to us.
This challenge will come (almost as certain as night follows day) just a matter of when and to a degree that will be down to our site management. If we do it properly the complaints should fall on deaf ears but if we do not then this could get ugly.
If that is battle weary then yes i am but still a pragmatist. Will i get what i need out of this share i believe so, will it make my fortune probably not as i think too much rests in hands of Chinese workers who seem to have too much of a care free attitude to other peoples property even their own country's national monuments.
Earnings is 22/09.
September sometime? Update normally given with the earnings release so I’m expecting news then.
Ref master82's post earlier:
"Local meeting held today. Let's all pray PM is discussed and we are given the green light
#ANNOUNCEMENT
By order No. A/14 dated September 1, 2023 of the Acting Chairman of the Eastern Province Democratic Party, the regular meeting of the Provincial Party Committee was announced to be held on September 7, 2023 at 17:00 in the meeting hall of the Democratic Party building.
Party committee members are requested to participate actively.
Democratic Party of Eastern Province"
It will be interesting to see if anything does come of this. We know from previous meetings, any RNS comes almost immediately after (the central govt giving the go ahead was announced the very next morning etc). However, I'm also wondering what might actually be discussed? Local govt have been given instructions and is it not just with the local herdsmen now to agree new land and a slip of paper to be signed? So potentially no need for anything to be debated, or at least I hope we are way past that stage.
✅ Governor of Eastern Province M. Badamsuren is participating in the meeting of Mongolia-China Expo and Ikh Tumen initiative.
The 11th meeting of the Local Cooperation Committee of the United Nations Development Program (GTI) and the 9th meeting of the Logistics Sub-Committee are being held in Hoh, China's Ministry of Economy and Trade.
M. Badamsuren, the Governor of Dornod Province, participated in this meeting and delivered a speech at the opening.
He introduced the participants to the meeting about the resources and investment opportunities for the further development of the Eastern province.
As for Eastern Province, it is located closest to the Tumen River region in Northeast Asia, and it is a legitimate goal to actively participate in this initiative and keep pace with the development of the region.
The meeting was attended by the Eastern, Khentii, Sukhbaatar and Selenge provinces of Mongolia, Russia's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the People's Republic of China, Hoh City, Manchurian City, Black River, Jilin, Liaoning Province, Tangshan City of Hebei Province, Exim Bank of the Republic of Korea and other countries. Enterprises participated and gave information and presentations and exchanged opinions.
Dornod province has been participating in the Northeast Asia local cooperation of Great Tumen Initiative from the beginning.
The 3rd meeting of the Local Cooperation Committee was successfully organized for the first time in Mongolia in 2015 in Choibalsan, Dornod province.
The 08th meeting of the Logistics Sub-Committee organized last year was successfully conducted by Dornod Province electronically.
I think we're past the stage where we might think that the Mongolian Government are playing fast and loose with Petro Matad's future?
They've nailed their colours pretty clearly to the mast here.
Dozzawba - I don't suppose the Bloomberg editor got back to you re the MB interview?
Landicaamans - I have big concerns with corruption and how PM are being treated. Problem is, imagine selling now and it all coming good. I'd be kicking myself. But what I have done is stopped topping up here and concentrating more on my other holdings.
Master: I agree with all your points (there may even be more!). It's a complete snafu - don't know how they want to attract additional investors if this is the way they support business - jeez!
For wasting 4/ 5 Years of time and loss of revenue due to flaw in the Mongolian land law.
They should get their paperwork rectified before signing and PSC.
Loss of resources and revenue.
They should never have signed any contracts If they can not control their land .
Barclays - if I may jump in here:
If you have a contract based claim, the respective contract will determine the jurisdiction and the applicable law.
I assume there is no contractual basis and - quite frankly - even if there were Governments never agree to alien jurisdictions.
So - whichever way you look at it: PM would have to take action in Mongolia. Good luck with litigating against a Government in its own country!
Ibiza28- you sound very battle weary ! I'd say because you've only had the activist to read ( rather than decent regular updates from MB - which I know we all rightly critise him for) , you're views are getting too coloured by her comments .
The waiting is getting to all of us but it'll come good and activists can moan all they like but if they obstruct then they be arrested and imprisoned -the mongolian government will have to govern.
Hmm
This share has been played like a yo yo or by some good enough here a Stradivarius. And it will continue to be played like one for a while once the LP is finally sorted.
This has taken sooooo long to get through all the various channels no one is really going to believe until the first oil is out of the ground, on the back of a lorry and delivered to a Chinese refinery and the money banked and even then it is not really going to be believed until the first real test comes from the activists or even the local politicians still opposed to us. That will happen when or how i do not know that but this will be the real litmus test to see if the MG is really prepared to back us then this will move. Sorry but that is how i see it. The proof will be in the pudding and not the glazed gloss exterior.
Master, in what jurisdiction do you suggest that PM sue the MG??
Thanks Doc83
Doc - it's true enough that the delays have stunted the share price, though crazy variations in the share price on an intra day basis, such as suddenly down 7% with no news and very thin trading volumes are down to something else.
I'm allocating about one third of my holding to riding the spikes when they happen. The next one will come if there is some positive news about the LP bureaucratic formalities. I don't doubt that there will be positive news, as the local governance cannot legally defy the central government. Don't forget though that when the special purpose designation was granted -and before the other local level delays became apparent - the price still went up and down in a day or two like a rollercoaster. Anybody expecting a straight line up rerate is going get a nasty surprise I suspect....
I interpret it as if the herdsman agree to move to different area and take money from Petro Matad the local activists won’t be happy , I think the activists know what’s coming ,this is just my opinion
Research - I think the activist has said if she/her activist friends find out that they have taken money from PM, then they will be called blackmailers. I assume it should read traitors?!
Dozzawba - thank you but not sure I understand the last comment. Cheers
Researchandhold, that last paragraph was the FB activists translated post this morning
Investor33 - I know we've had our differences but, sadly for us all, there are continued and seemingly endless delays and so it almost seems logical that the SP should drift lower.
'Keep spending all my life living in a market maker's paradise....'
Currently very low, insignificant volumes, yet sharply marked down around 7% the other day....That's not the market having its say on things when practically no activity is going on.
WOS - let’s be very clear. YOU do NOT do any research. You use the brainwashing technique and jump on the back of others “research”, only using/repeating it if it’s positive.
There are only a few here who actually do any research. Dozzawba and Master (although sometimes he misinterprets it) with useful contributions from some others like Gkahn and Landicaamans who is in the industry. There’s a couple more which aren’t immediately springing to mind.
Saying “we are ready to breakout and BOOOOM” is not research, especially so when we actually end up falling!
Apologies. My message was for Bad Profit
Your very forceful and quite knowledgeable. Thank goodness we have you as a key contributor it really helps to place my mind at rest. Do you know where the Gobi Desert is in relation to Heron or is Heron situated in the Gobi Desert?
