Some how I don't think that'll be a problem now.
48 trading days till the end of the quarter, one bank holiday got moved from May to June for queen's celebration but no matter I'm sure news will be put out either way. GLA
No wait a second: Q2 ends on June 30 right? That would add another 21 days!
Matd still trying to convince locals. Still not past that stage.
Everything is last minute .
Curiouser: My calculation comes up with around 25 trading days (incl. 3 bank holidays) starting tomorrow - but as some of the posters on this BB would say: that is the result of an investor looking thru rose colored glasses.
In the end it doesn't really matter does it?
If PM doesn't break good news by the end of May I would agree that PM and we investors are in trouble - and PM's SP will take a blow.
Personally, I don't and can't believe that will happen.
come on MB release those RNS's
17 trading days left in the first half of Q2. Tick tock...
Yes pretty much. Nodding donkey gets to work round the clock.
If DQE take over operations at Heron-1 and additional appraisal wells, then they would fast track "Multiple wells" at Heron. Means more nodding donkeys get to work to get lot more oil out from Heron and pretty fast.
We could get to 6000-8000 bopd much quicker if DQE come in with all their equipment.
Or DQE might decide to pay upfront few hunderd million $$$ for 50% stake in Block XX and takeover operations at Heron.
Bit of speculation but oil should be coming out pretty soon. Current price is a steal whichever way you look at it.
I've got very little understanding of Oil drilling etc etc. Is the 2 week work over just to open up the Heron 1 well ?
Forgive my ignorance, but what happens after that. What extracts the oil after the work over period ?.....a nodding donkey working around the clock ?
Excellent, well balanced post IDC. I’m a long time holder and hold a similar number of shares - but regrettably my average SP is somewhat higher. I’m a believer - there are simply too many positives to be otherwise.
Best to all.
Soon.
When it comes, expect this to run to 15-20p pretty fast. Coiled spring this one. It will go big style.
Are we there yet
Come on MB.... its time for a rerate style RNS, we should be in double figures right now!
//I hope that alleviates any 'worry'/sleepless nights / bed wetting on the matter ;)//
Yet another needlessly snide remark. You rampers really are the pits!
Something that worries me is that MB is more of an explorer than a producer & may not have the right skills going forward. It was significant in his talk that the board were pushing him to start production this year when (surely) it's the CEOs job to do the pushing.
I just hope he doesn't put production on the back burner & go off chasing rainbows. Off course GoM may be quite happy to wait for production until their refinery is operational.
Nice one IDC. I’m giving you ‘the force’.
I’m a newbie and I am here for a bag or two. Seemed rude not to. BH
Good article indeed.
MRPAM seem active on many fronts in pursuit of establishing a robust framework to deal with any land permits/ settlement etc.
PetroMatad has been quite instrumental in terms of their own Input / feedback / guidance and push towards the creation of such a Framework that would benefit the Oil industry. This attracts FDI - Foreign Direct investment in country which is what Govt wants and provides confidence to international investors looking into Mongolia.
Very rarely post here. Here is where I think we are strategic and logistical/operational:-
On the brink of shifting from an explorer to a producer with significant commercial potential
Many further and potentially large discoveries are possible based on prior drilling, seismic, etc
Very low (ridiculous) market cap (36.5M pounds)
A fully funded exploitation/exploration program with future cash flows looking awesome
Operating in a difficult environment from a reg and climate perspective
Ukraine may just bring Mongolia in more quickly as a geostrategic play for China (Russia will be "on the nose for a long time and their hydrocarbon industry is heading for a long winter and Russia a world of pain for the citizens)
A good driller for our harsh conditions wanting in to either manage our drilling or farm in or both (DCE)
That gives us the potential to scale and leverage our drilling activity and exploration - with strong prospects of acceleration
Government equity and support
An experienced Board with a successful track record and less prone to the endemic corruption in Mongolia
A volatile history for investors (a bit like Bitcoin) where volatility is actually an asset but also a massive frustration for some
This stock, in terms of volatility, has traded 1.8p - 2 pounds in the last 5 years
Frustrations with bureaucracy - licences, permits, drill contracts - are all part of the journey IMO. Chill on this stuff. We'll get there.
It was news-driven in the past (and still is somewhat) but is more results dependent soon
A cynical and sometimes very negative, resentful, follower investor community, some of whom cannot sell yet
Others have been maneuvering for take-off - looking forward
9% up in last year, 45% in last month (but still 84% down on last 5 years)
Let's look at the facts - this is a potential ripper. Timing - Soon, so let it bake and stop opening the oven.
Full disclosure - been here 5+ years and have a couple of million shares now averaged below 4p. First bought in at 10p. I know people who bought at more than a pound who are now below the 10p weighted average and keeping the faith, staying hopeful and even positive.
DYOR, but respect others even if your view is different. My own biggest bummer with MATD is that I find this chat hard to read because of all of the personal stuff, point-scoring, and childish conduct. I'm fine with criticism but let's play the ball.
Are we there yet! Nearly.
At the meeting of the Government of Mongolia on January 6, 2020, it was decided to transport the raw materials of the refinery through a pipeline.
The Ministry of Mines and Mineral Resources has announced an international tender to “finance and construct an oil pipeline project in Mongolia” and the state-owned Norinko International Cooperation of China has won the tender.
Today, G.Nandinjargal, State Secretary of the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Resources, D.Altantsetseg, Executive Director of the Mongolian Oil Refinery State Joint Stock Company, and B.Sc. Gankhuyag and General Manager Zhou Dian Bin on behalf of Norinko International Cooperation, a general contractor for construction work in China.
With the entry into force of the agreement, crude oil will be transported from the Dornod aimag oil field through a 530 km long pipeline with a lift and heat pump, which will provide a continuous and reliable supply of raw materials to the refinery under construction in Altanshiree soum, Dornogovi aimag.
Norinko International Cooperation will complete the construction of the crude oil pipeline within three years, before the plant is commissioned, and will pay for the work with coal mined by Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi during the construction of the project.
The design, engineering and construction will be managed by the Mongolian Oil Refinery State Joint Stock Company and will be monitored. GLA

If I didn't find you so amusing aspers I'd have filtered you ages ago but I suppose some of you have to put the negative spin on things, you know to keep the balance right but good luck with your investment here as I'm sure all will come good despite all the setbacks and delays, Rome wasn't built in a day. GLA
Hamm…….very true, the slightest bit of negativity on here will have the kindergarten kids chucking their toys out of the cot and calling you scum or other nice words like that. I guess the cut and paste brigade will be back soon to push our posts to the back of the que. .
Poole: Interesting article, but doesn't explain what the problem is with permitting. I've emailed investor relations anyway, lets see what they come back with. Unless anyone has a direct line to Mike Buck?
Sorry I was referring to the border of block, should have stated in my last post. But I'm sure if I remember correctly that's why they had to drill Heron 1 km away as not to encroach on there operations so because of that perhaps being Chinese owed they are dancing to there own tune. GLA
Gold mine - the link below may help. Looks like the mongolian government initially set up very favourible terms to atttact oil investors into the country, and petrochina jumped straight on it.
