Have turned in some good results and resume Dividends.
We will know how MARS have faired in another 12 days.

That is good to hear a positive report on the family hospitality front as ultimately shareholders need the revenue from activities such as these to make the company a viable operation, especially now we only have 40% of the brewery business.
Most encouraging
Thanks Wolfwatch.
Had a nice meal at the newly refurbished Navigation, Stoke Bruerne. Card worked with no hassle and food and service good.
Sunday lunch with all the trimmings inc Yorkshire pudding with stuffing ball.
The company seems to be heading down the family meal route with some new pubs with accommodation and could do well next year as more people venture out. Although down on my investment I am holding for now as, at least some parts seem promising.
Yes Trent, so I believe. However, I imagine it will be watered down… spend £20, get 20p off next meal etc.. ands it’s for all customers apparently.
Good points there too Barchid. Just a wait and see scenario at the moment I think. Hopefully some improvement in the not too distant for us all.
@Barchid. Perha
@Fairdealer. You could well be right. Generally speaking, you're never ever too wide of the mark.
@Wolfwatch. They're replacing it with something else though, aren't they? I've not had much time to my self recently so not had time to check.
Another down day as usual.. new ceo has a lot to do to get this dog on its feet. Of course, as our former CFO for sometime, he has possibly contributed towards this mess with the rest on the BOD. SP heading lower, no dividend on the agenda .. what a great idea to clobber long suffering shareholders by stopping the privilege card in April.
barchid,trent.
To emphasise the point, Weatherspoons announced their survey shows a lower footfall amongst the older generation who tend to have more free cash.
Possibly they are preparing for the higher costs of living that are going to hit us all.
We will see on the 30th of the month
good time to get in and hold
People in London may not be spending in that is why London brings this country down I can say in many other areas people are spending in money
After 30/04/2022 shareholder perk "Privilege Card" will not be renewed and will be replaced by a wider reward system for ALL users of Marston's pubs/accomodation. Hope it's not buy one pint of pedigree get one pint of carlsberg free!
@Trent
Fair comment but what I would say is young people do not seem to inhabit pubs in London & surrounds like I used to, there does seem to be a culture change, not to mention demographic too.
Granted I don't see Geordies, for instance, giving up their boozer for anything but in some other parts of the country I think there is a change, something we should be aware of.
@Barchid.
All good points, but I'm wondering how much of this is people curbing their spending for now as well for the run up to Christmas.
As we all know, the run up to Christmas and the new year are busy trading times for the brewing and pub industry. This money has to come from somewhere.
Article in City a.m. on front page saying Barclaycard declaring lower spending on bars/pubs/clubs in October than September with more money being spent on home victuals.
Not terribly inspiring but it does merit a read as it shows where the cash is going or not going.
They speculate the rise in cost of living is the root of this but clearly one month does not determine a change, though worth being aware of.
If we buy our beer in a supermarket Mars make much less than if it is bought in a pub, has always been my understanding of how the off-trade works.
Trent
No change there then, he/she is always full of "odd" surprises.
This board appears to have attracted another Comedian.
Come back Tommy Cooper, all is forgiven.
Will the RNS tell us if it’s Virgo or Vine we’re banking on ?
Didn’t realise Virgo or Vine were so critical to the business, half decent snooker player and watchable presenter.
About nearly all this year now.
Good grief jackbogle, how long have you been investing?
JV's can be critical to some businesses.
I am just waiting to see what is in the RNS come the end of November
John Virgo agreement. Or Jeremy Vine. Either one working with Marstons on a new range of snooker or egghead related craft beers. Could be massive. Could be a dud. Only the barrow boys know. Watch this space…
