60p, that’s rather optimistic of you, but a 54-55 should be realistic and I will be very happy with that.
Vaccine??? I don’t think it is a very good vaccine, by most accounts. If it does come, it’ll only be available to 50+ and the vulnerable who are most at risk.
We shall see, but SP should be 70p+ when deal is done at the end of October.
Good Luck All.
The business will continue to recover and £240m incoming. Carlsberg knows the value here and what they are getting. otherwise they wouldn't have bothered in May when things looked real bleak!! Exciting time as vaccine news is due in next 30 days.
CV is still a risk, yes. Good that it looks like only tier 3 (hotspot) geographies might close pubs, but not restaurants. That says to me the business operation and momentum will continue to build/ recover. My only regret is not buying more at the lows :-(
A poor rise considering the importance of the JV . It went up 100% from 30p to 60p on first announcement. Just shows you the lack of confidence in the pub trade at these hard times
It's a worrisome thing to hold, but 5 years from now, and all that....

This should favour Marstons
This is a "relief rally" it shows the new combined unit will work. However, from here any SP rises will be down to how well the " unit" is performing and it will not be given a chance to prove itself because of the current environment. For this reason, We could still see a big drop.
Hi Pitterpatter- I have family connections here so will be back. I am making the most of the NYSE at the moment and will be back most likely next week - Fairtrader, Barchild and Yoyoma -think I am a joke which makes me laugh. I have had fun here for the past few weeks anyway but must concentrate now on my Gold and Silver mining interests now the stimuli proposal is being put to congress. Hopefully you will do well without me -good luck.
You are allowed to say Fiona_cartwright Pitterpatter. She appeared to say goodbye today so I read her as an informal public relations officer from Carlsberg and in contact with Blawat & co whose job was to keep PIs informed until the JV was finalised. I hope you are right and MARS has plenty to offer. I am holding at least until the bonus is announced!
Hi Supercharger
As per a post early days when CAMRA first got involved - Carlsberg were already getting the network ready back then in preparation of the JV as per a poster on here who has friends in the industry.
Unless you should a few short and wish for the price to retreat so you can re-acquire those shares I honestly would not worry about it - it’s going ahead fella !!
Atb and gl all - This is only the start.
Strong close as expected... as i said highs 50s maybe even 60s.
Market didn't think approval would go ahead. Now it's re-rating back up
well forecasts say pe of 5 and 6 so clearly making profits and net debt forecasts coming down from the free cash they make.
Have a look at the small print in the Carlsberg release, and nothing yet official on the Marstons web?
Is Boris talking on Monday? Maybe Fairtrader, Barchild and YoYoma are right to be cautious?
Read the interims when they came out and they said the cash will be used to reduce net debts. . (Net debts £1,379 million, lease liabilities of £295mil. )
The cash will help strengthen the balance sheet a little but not sure much will stay in the coffers For long?
I’m trying to work out the Jv split and how it effects revenues. Does anyone have any calcs on that and cost savings.
Mcap £330mil atm.
Highs 50s or maybe even 60s Monday.
This cash windfall is monster for MARS.
Wow the batman now takes on the riddler and has to spell it out. No doubt he has been having too many sherbets after his early morning bus ride and flu jab at Asda.
However on thinking about it he may be right perhaps is is now time for me to sell and concentrate on my Gold miners. No official release yet on the Marstons official web and Carlsberg has said a lot of hoops still to go through. Perhaps Yoyoma you are right it is time to revisit this one after the govt. have had their day on closing the pubs. I still maintain however that the online sales will be good and so I wish you all well if we continue to go up today. I may return here later. Been fun!
For the record here is the Carlsberg site comments in the deal for those who like conversation :-

As we are well aware, home delivery has 2 snags for a company that will soon be taking 40% from the breweries and hoping for profits from 1300 or so pubs, the first should be obvious to Omaha pensioners, ie Amazon might disrupt the pubs & the second is you can not plug the brand new Tesla into the charger in the supermarket car park for everyone to admire. Other than that your mention of C Reeve did make me smile.
Fiona_cartwright says added bonus to be announced with Q3, as a Carlsberg insider maybe sh means a sweetener being added to the deal due to lockdown/pub difficult times.
Trent let's say Christopher Reeve and Warren Buffet have nothing to fear from the Penguin who skates on thinner and thinner ice!!! That's a riddle Trent, hope you work it out.
Back to business, it now seems, according to our resident Sage, Marston's Pubs are going to be redundant with all the Home Deliveries.
Headlines now coming all over the place :-

I would not worry about discount cars when Fd & BC will have made so much money on their shareholdings they said they held. As we said yesterday freely available from all the major supermarkets, online (one can even order from the factory) and for me Amazon. As FD said yesterday he would prefer Asda (he must have known he could also have a flu jab for free). Results soon from Marstons which will I am sure show how in fact deliveries from the factory have increased home sales and that is where the growth is at the moment (as Carlsberg as aware) rather than competitors who rely only on the pubs.
Yoyo, no, I did not see that. I'd I would have waited.
Fairdealer, Who'd think that lol.
