Hi Franconia I've just seen your message so apologies for late reply. You're welcome over Mariana. Although many will feel it has been undersold at least the decision has been taken away from us and for most a very good return. It has certainly got me back on my feet and I have now spread the risk over a few stocks, albeit high risk but potentially high return. I will look into your recommendation, but for now I am building a stake in Aminex, Hummingbird and Trinity. I expect Hummingbird to get some momentum from the autumn but don't want to miss the run up so have invested early. They will be producing significant gold from this time next year and are a very well run outfit. Aminex have dropped off significantly from recent highs so I have taken the opportunity to build significant stake here and I think they may well be taken out by the spring. Trinity are oil producers and having now refinanced themselves look ridiculously undervalued provided of course oil does not drop much further. So I have one gold, one gas and one oil play! Aminex may turn to oil as well (but this is speculative). I will be in all three for the medium term as I was with Mariana and whilst I have a few targets to take some risk of the table I won't be overtrading on any of them as I believe the value case for each is in the 12-24 month window provided the world economy continues to pick up. Finally, I intend to get into Sandstorm from the autumn too but with a much smaller stake then I had in Mariana. I am in the camp that they will prove up more of the resource and sell to Turkey with a royalty agreement in place. Also if gold holds up around $1200 Sandstorm is well placed to double back to previous levels over the next year. All of the above very optimistic of course but feeling positive after 500% return on Mariana!
Hi Lionel, Iread recently that SSL has a lot more negotiated streaming to start coming in over the next 12 months and the marl purchase will give them minimal debt.Definitely a t/0 target for 2018 with a steady increase in the sp until then IMO .I will have some of my shares held with LSE as they tell me this is possible,so presumably there must be a page for the price to be seen on so possibly to chat on GLA (excluding the BOD--me bitter ?)
from the quoted SeekingAlpha article: Quote: "Hot Maden’s mine attributes are stunning with a Preliminary Economic Assessment estimate of 11 grams of gold per rock ton compared to the typical range of 3 to 5 grams per ton. SAND’s engineers believe the HM asset could in fact yield 13 g/t to 15 g/t of gold." Now we are starting to see it's real value... Cordially Lionel
Sandstorm Gold Trades At A Significant Discount To SOTP With Multiple Catalysts article: https://seekingalpha.com/article/4084145 Essentially states that there is considerable upside potential in the current SAND SP, with a strong contribution from Hot Maden. Which we sort of knew, right? Cordially Lionel
Of this board as long as it continues to discuss SSL shenanigans. Half my holding has gone to conversion. Once again sentiment has played it's part but the original offer was for £1.10p equivalent so that's what I am holding out for. At that point I will wish you all a bon voyage on your journey towards HM PFS for those that continue. It's been a rollercoaster ride gentlemen (and lady) and I for one have appreciated those who have posted and informed (and educated) and those who have entertained (Total Recall to name but 3) :) Adieu if we disappear. See some of you on the other side. GLA
Hi nsmith1000. I wasn't planning to sign up to another board just to post on SAND/SSL. The calculation is very simple: M = (S x 0.2573 / P) + 28.75 S is the SAND price in US cents, ~378 as I type. P is the pound-US$ conversion, ~1.2718 as I type. M is the "Virtual MARL" price in pence, ~105.2 as I type. ATB
There are a few chat rooms for Canadian stocks.... Try the stockhouse.com, there are a few others as well I'm not sure which one is best. Just google Canadian stock chat
Thank you for the update SGD27 - would it be possible for you to update the "Virtual Marl" prices regularly at all? - would really appreciate it as this discussion board ( I assume ) will cease in the near future and hence I do not have any idea where to go to view the equivalent? - do you know where the users on here will be heading too? which board they will chat on? I watch/read from the sidelines and enjoy all of the information and advice the guys give out here ( yes - you have to take some of it with a pinch of salt ) but will miss the updates on the now SAND shares and news / pricing etc regularly? - thank you.
SAND SP drifting up, even though gold has fallen. Not surprising perhaps - although the arb's don't have to buy back their shorts, at least the downward pressure from continual selling should now have ceased. SAND at US$3.75 means "Virtual MARL" now at 104.5p.
And the court has approved the deal.... that's all folks!
MARL shares suspended as of 07:30, as expected. Cordially Lionel
my thoughts are that it is a simple explanation. The spin off is more like a sell off and ergama didnt get a mention because it is possibly being treated similarly to the early days of HM, with Lidya earning in by way of drilling and then a NSR deal (probably already agreed) all good news to drive the SSL price forward.
FTP - you put me on to MARL several years ago, for which many thanks! I owe you a case of booze! You may like to cast your eye over my previous post if you are looking for "the next Mariana".........maybe I can return the favour? DYOR!!
I retain around 20% of my holding which I will now let convert to SSL (plus cash). However, I still wish to have exposure to gold in my portfolio and have been looking for other juniors. Nemesis on here kindly mentioned Newrange Gold (NRG on the TSX) which looks very interesting: high grade results, Nevada based, no debt, recent cash raise and own 100% of the asset. After the HM disposal "fisasco", I am wary of companies that own less than 100% of their asset or those that could be deemed to be in "challenging" jurisdictions. Another one that I like the look of is Redstar Gold (RGC on TSX) which again has 100% of what looks a very promising high grade discovery in Alaska. Fully funded and 60% of shares held by Instis, including Sprott. Am watching both closely and will probably (at least) reinvest my cash element in these over the next couple of weeks... Atb whatever you do with your investment.
Ludeck: thank you for these clarifications and thoughts. If I have followed your arguments correctly, we MAY see some additional return to Sandstorm from Ergama, not already accounted for (case a), or Ergama may simply disappear from our holdings, and we will see no future benefits from it whatsoever (case b). In what would be a somewhat typical AIM development, Ergama (for us LTH in MARL) may just have vaporized. I will wait and see, but with close to zero optimism, what returns accrue from the Spin-Co process. I will not be anticipating any significant returns for the old MARLers.. My hope in transferring to SAND remains only in the future augmented value of Hot Maden. Cordially Lionel
Lionel, remember that early in the takeover process, Ergama disappeared from the list of assets which GP and ER will be incentivised to find a buyer for under the new Sandiana arrangements. Though this was never explained, it does seem very likely that either a) Lidya are already hoped or expected to buy Ergama and Sandstorm don't feel that they need to feather Glen's bed further to make that deal happen or b) Sandstorm intend to "give away" Ergama as part of the HM deal with Lidya. In either case, Ergama appears not to be destined for the Spinco treatment. As for Cote d'Ivoire and Argentina, these assets will be owned by Sandstorm and you are will be a shareholder of Sandstorm. They can't just give away those assets without you getting your share. If they set up a new company to float off these assets, you will get a share in that new company equitable with your share in Sandstorm. If they simply sell the assets, then the value of your Sandstorm shares should increase proportionally to your share of the sale price.
Mugwump: what I have seen so far is three separate boards on https://ceo.ca/ that cover: MARL (presumably soon to disappear like this one?): https://ceo.ca/marl SAND (US Sandstorm listing): https://ceo.ca/sand SSL (Canadian Sandstorm listing): https://ceo.ca/ssl Would also appreciate if people know of others. Cordially Lionel
Fulmar (or others who understand these things): I have seen that you remain optimistic about the prospects for Ergama. However, in the original discussions on the merger with SAND, it was stated (if memory serves) that the non-Hot Maden component of MARL would be spun-off into some other company that they referred to as Spin-Co. My fear is that Spin-Co will be set up in such a way that we (MARL or SAND) will see little or perhaps even nothing of Ergama and Cote d'Ivoire. GP and ER have been told (if I recall) that they can run with Spin-Co. Presumably they will walk off with 90% (or whatever) of the new company, and we will be invited to stump up more cash to remain involved. My guess is that we will not have a continuing participation in any of these new prospects. How do you see it? Cordially Lionel
Can anyone provide information on what TSX or NYSE boards there might be available for Sandstorm chat ?
Lionel can't wait to see how they respond to "cordially" please let me know where you are.SSL will double within the year and if Erg performs it will do more IMHO Cordially F29 xx
Chaps, I have been here for over 3 years and it has been a roller-coaster ride that I have loved. The good and bad times have left me with the what ifs etc........But all in all it has been a kind share to me. Lets hope for much the same with SAND. Good luck to all that sailed in the good ship MARL. Look forward to continuing the journey with the people who have held....Should be an interesting journey.
.. and thanks for all the fish. It has been a splendid board, one which has helped me follow the twist and turns over the past 3 years; educational, perceptive, and analytical. Perhaps the board will stay for a while longer, or perhaps those that are transferring to SAND (I'm one) will meet up on another board for SAND or SSL. Otherwise, that's it. Kind of sad. Cordially Lionel
Yes, I saw that too; dated Fri, 23rd Jun 2017 14:57- dealing undertaken: 22 June 2017. Then it disappeared again (but I still have it on my screen). Couldn't understand why they'd suddenly be buying SAND. Maybe it was just submitted mistakenly, then withdrawn?
The rather large MMCAP 8.3 ping up from yesterday? Common Shares Purchase of SAND totalling 537,328 at 3.5738 USD. Not to be sniffed at. Wish I was clever enough to work out this shorting/buying m'larkey.
Time please!
