Which is good news. Just heard from my broker (Alliance Trust) that my money and shares have arrived bit wont be credited to me for a couple of days! Still looks as though this is only going to grow from here (for the rest of the year at least). This will probably be my last post here. Good luck to all that are left D220, Lionel, SGD27 Spudulika, Terrafin Gixxer and Fulmer et al. If you find a Sandstorm forum hopefully see you over there as continuing to hold half my original MARL holding. (Will the last person to leave turn the lights off) :).
Certainly looks good at $4.22. Those that put their cash into this yesterday at $4.03 will already be doing nicely!
Pre market SP looking good today - could be another step up coming ....
Thanks for the reply guys. I don't think I am out of pocket overall but I don't agree with the way they have done the calculations as it now looks like I have made more profit than I had when I held the MARL Shares (which isn't the case yet!). This, unfortunately for me means more CGT (shares are not in an ISA).
SAND shares are currently $4.06, so over £3 each. So your Cash plus shares will be around £25K. Maybe the Halifax cost is a calculation based on what you originally paid for MARL less the cash payment?
I had something similar with HL, and thought it might be just be what I had originally paid for the MARL shares. I've found that in general the 'cost' figure goes a bit awry after a corporate action, but I wouldn't worry, it's only there as an indication. (I suppose it might be relevant for calculating Capital Gains Tax, if it's correct, but mines an ISA so N/A.)
Hi all, Halifax have credited my account today with my new SAND Shares (NYSE) but I am struggling to do the maths. I held 23282 MARL Shares so I got £6693 Cash (I understand this bit - 28.75p per MARL Share) I now have 5990 SAND Shares (I understand why 5990 - i.e. 23282 x 0.2573 = 5990) What I don't understand is the Cost of the SAND Shares, my Halifax account says my 5990 SAND Shares cost £8020.93 which equates to £1.34 / share. I might be totally missing something here but the two values don't add up to what my MARL Shares would be worth if the MARL Share Price was £1.09 which is what the original offer spoke about. With my holding of 23282 MARL Shares x £1.09 = £25377 Currently, it looks like my proceeds from the merger are :- £6693 (Cash Element) + £8020 (Cost of 5990 SAND Shares) = £14713 Can anyone shed any light on my quandary PS, looking forward to the adventure with SAND Regards
Hi all - finally realised this BB is still working! Halifax credited me today so - game on. Chuck the balance back into SSL? Anyone else done this?
so am I gixxer, but not going to.too many eggs etc.Have put 25% of cash into shares and holding rest for an opportunity ! SSL maybe a missed chance but i eventually had 90% of my holdings in Marl.so was lucky once and I am not going to push it.
Halifax finally credited my account - Half tempted to put the cash part into SSL....
that's unlike you to split hairs Ludek .The NW/SSL meant nil capex effectively because payback is so quick.Even if marl had gone to the market for 50% of the cost then the payback would be so quick the only scale it would register on is the splitting hairs for non shareholders scale
Should have said $4.14!
"We would have had nil capex". If by that you mean Mariana, you should be wary of comparing the financing options available to a company like Sandstorm compared to a company who has no income and absolutely no other assets upon which to leverage debt.
Agreed, and i seem to remember in an interview Sand admitting that they got Hot Maden for 25% of it's true value. At least by holding SSL as I have done we SHOULD see the value of that deal coming back to us in SLL SP. $4.11 yesterday is a decent start! GLA
Also waiting. Also impatiently. Also waiting impatiently for NYSE to open. That's the trouble now: not only my whole days wasted staring at the LSE prices, but all my evenings blown willing on the NYSE. Cordially Lionel
Still waiting (not so) patiently for mine to show in my Halifax account!
looks weird ! and as I always thought it is priced in CAD,
was the price before SSL announced their widely criticized purchase (theft) of marl.and in that time NW has announced a further share buy back/bought shares himself and highly promoted his purchase. Had the purchase not occurred the SSL price would have risen anyway on the existing streaming/royalty projects due to happen in 2018,so short term ie this year the correction could well pass $5.40 and if NW gets his way with the EBITA ratio going past present ratings this may well multiply by the end of next year. GLA (we shouldn't ' have sold though)
The SSL shares + cash have now arrived in my Hargreaves Lansdown ISA. Great start for the SSL SP :-)
Aye, be nice to see a push onto 4.2 today. o/
Google Finance is saying a close at 4.14, a high for the day, with a volume of 4.3m compared to an avg of 2.4m. The re-rate is on!
After dropping back toward $4 it looks like it is now having another go at $4.10 Good volume at over 2m so far.
Very welcome. At current US$ 4.07, represents a MARL SP of just over 110p. Does anyone know a site where we can see the individual trades going through on SAND or SSL, not just the current SP (e.g. as with google finance)? Cordially Lionel
BOOM BOOM - get in - up she goes !1
Has gone into overdrive today and is trading above $4!
