Trading statement next thursday.
Thank you for taking the time to explain. Gratefully. Robert
I wanted to top-up and was waiting for a dip, thanks everyone who sold. I added a few. The only reason for major shareholder to oppose buyback is if they want to stop SP going up so that they can launch a takeover bid, I cant see any other reason!
Buying back shares means less shares, so earnings per share go up, best to do when the valuation is low. The con side is whether you can put that money to better use at a better rate.
Company have spare cash and think the shares are currently cheap. Seems like a good problem to have.
Morning,
Could some one explain the pros and cons of them buying back shares.
Thank you kindly
I'd have thought that China finally lifting COVID restrictions is a big positive for LUCE.
Healthy profit to be had here from this point IMO.
Till all the workers catch Covid and the rest of the world start testing everything and everyone coming from China.
End of zero covid policy in China and the stronger pound should be good for Luceco , as a big chunk of their production is in China.
LUCE hasn't disappointed me again. It has risen 25% in a week on no further news and the share I sold is down 6% on the week.
Hopefully LUCE will be back into triple digits by the end of the year. The share price is very volatile and price can move 5% up or down with lots of fairly small automated trades every day. I've not seen another share with so many automated trades each day.
Apologies HH I've been out a while and misread the LSE diary update... shouldn't post so late in the evening.
Monitoring this and will be back in at some point.

Ex divi today... do the maths.
A few big buys came in all within the same minute (likely from a single buyer).

Hopefully we won't stay below 70p for long...
Numbers, I was only in here once but made the same mistake as you. I've been watching, too, but would want a sustained move above the 50 day SMA (it did manage to get over this in Sept but not for long) both here and in the FTSE All Share index before dipping back in.
It seems a well-run business and like so many others, the slightest bad news causes overreactions in the SP at the moment. Existing holders should be OK in the medium term, I reckon.
I've been in and out of Luceco a few times and it is one of the few shares I've bought that I've consistently managed to sell at a profit. Last time I sold way too early as I took a profit at under 200p and watched the price keep rising...
I was tempted to buy in again when LUCE went below 100p but I had no spare cash. I was really tempted at around 75p but all my spare cash was tied up in shares.
The RNS wasn't brilliant today, but it didn't justify almost a 10% drop IMO so I sold another share to buy back into LUCE again.
I agree long term this is a no brainer however short term this will bump along downwards. How long this will last is anybody's guess
Likely to go much lower imo.
That's the way it's going with most equities and once interest rates get to 5% they'll be alot withdrawing to the safety of a 5 year fix.
I know I will.
Bought 2000 today and will bottom drawer them for a minimum of 12 months
still regret not going house money here @ 37p, liking the rise, but i want to average down further!
how's everyone today?
up and away , nice
Luceco is a no brainer even at 110p. My short term target is 200p in next 12 months.
Down boy! Get down from up there! Bad stock!
Some peeps were paying 100p+ for this yesterday. Same company, same prospects - actually, with Truss onboard - prospects for SME even better!!! Madness
Their EV share of the UK market is about 2%. It's a very quickly growing market, and they have all the cspply channels set up to distribute them.
Another interesting item out of this afternoon's webcast is they looking at manufacturing sites in Poland. China is becoming a more dodgy place to do business in almost by the day/
This is still too cheap IMO - if I take 12-24 investment view - Luceco is going to be 200p+ given the EV investment they have made.
