My strategy to investing is 2 fold.
1. Strong yield, low P/E, no onerous debts and nothing suspicious looking like changing (Brexit aside)
2. Incredible if not high risk opportunity for capital growth such as a tech company yet to fully develop product or a medical company still clinically trialing a potential game changing drug (plenty of other examples).
Outside of this I struggle to understand what compels people to invest in companies which offer neither of the above - Especially when there are many FTSE 100 companies meeting the criteria laid out in my first example.
I come onto the LSE board, not to attack anyone currently invested but to try and understand what the compelling reason to invest would be? P/E of around 30 and a 1% yield....? Clearly there is a reason and hoping my outlook can be expanded by your answers.
Cheers

Thank you for your reply. I think I shall keep them there and wait till their 18. Hopefully they won't be back to £4.09 So anything above is a bonus.
Talk to your broker about buying a bit of protection by enquiring about a 'put option' for the appropriate time(s). You chose well. Highest quality stock and not worth selling unless and until necessary. Could be up about £50 then. What lucky children!
Hi looking for some advice bought these shares at £4.09 for my kids years ago. Kids now 16 and 17 so as a short term should I maybe be taking their money out. As they will obviously be wanting it at 18 and just with the whole brexit thing looming I don't know what's best to do.

I’ve sold out my holding here over the last week so I have limited UK exposure before Brexit in whatever manner it finally ends up as occurs. I wish all holders on this board lots of profitability and the best for the future.
Another day above £45 good to see long may it continue. Happy, Chilled and Relaxed

Good to see it finally have the legs to stay above 40 and now have a go at 42. Interesting times for all the worldsexchanges ahead. I wonder when will there be another attempt at a merger whether German or perhaps elsewhere.
Bin Salmons visit raises the possibility of Saudi choosing LSE for its IPO this may have the added side effect of giving Juncker and Barnier a heart attack. Meanwhile the eu are threatening the US with sanctions as they are so used to pushing people around .. I look forward to them getting a bloody nose from Trump .. bring it on !
Having bounced off the yearly high of £40 a number of times in the last 6 months the SP has broken above the line . I expect it to rise to £45 in the next 3 months.
Arsenal58: I think the Germans are too busy fending off corruption charges and wondering how much extra they will have to put in the eu pot once we leave :-) There has been a bit of fire under the sp lately and my speculation is that this is due to the arrival of high ranking Saudis in London I.e is London getting closer to being chosen for the Aramco float?
Coming to get us for real this time. They want it badly. EU.will hate it if it occurs !!
A nice move back up over the last couple of weeks perhaps another go at 40 over the next few trading days.
Please can someone tell me where I can learn how to use Level 2? I am new to it :) thankyou. Lewis
Heard a rumour that LSE are interested in picking up VOX markets. Anybody else heard this ?
Getting close to the £40 mark let's see if it can break through it this week and hold above it whilst I'm on holiday.. A profitable week to all.
