Think everyone has missed the point , yes when things get to normal in mid 2021 but you still have AGMs ; University etc that need coverage that are needed now.
Loopup are quick to act and show that they are contenders to the main dominate parties.
Like all products the best one will always grow even if the others are lesser products , its all the other deals in Loopup that are good example.
The Cable and Wireless deal is also owned by Liberty Latin America and could prove the best contract and growth ( 500 million customers )
going to dig deeper on this relationship see whats round the corner
Not just quick to respond to Zoom but now think this is also part of the procurement strategy for .gov : https://zoom.us/zoomrooms/hardware
Looks to me that they have been listening to their current base .... loop ups flexibility to help develop regional rooms at low cost ( hardware can always be leased) will support the shift to local working as home workers become jaded and need some human interaction without the daily commute or the large open plan corporate office !!!! Gr8 thinking from niche To mainstream !!
Not a lot of flesh on the bones of the announcement, pricing, supplier, set up costs, upfront investment in hardware etc although as a commercial opportunity you would expect the cards to be held as close to the chest as possible.
If I think of my current office in London, it is HQ with a pre-covid capacity of around 75 people for a European business with around 12,000 employees. We have around 12 conference and meeting rooms each equipped with Lifesize cameras and screens which could connect to around 60 locations across Europe. These were pretty much always in use throughout the day, phone calls between groups would always be held in these rooms. You would normally have more people in the rooms than at workstations and the CEO, CFO, COO would often spend their entire day in there. We sometimes had presentations with more than 1000 attendees run via Lifesize.
The questions is when will people begin gathering in groups at the office as that is what will drive demand here. I think we will need to see people safely return to work in their own offices before even contemplating international business travel. While I don't expect the financial benefit to be large I do like the way they are beginning to look for cross sell opportunities.
Think your right there and like the way they are covering their bases. Very reliable system, broader platform with the scope for growth across a wider front. Said it before, smart cookies this crew. I'm just sitting back and watching with much interest and confidence in this team and product. Im still convinced they'll turn my modest 20k into 60-100 in coming years. Lest see what the market says next ay.
Basically its hardware that competes with something like Lizesize but with more reliable audio? Given the very limited office attendance it seems like something that is more a 2021 opportunity, when people return to the office in small numbers and need to organise meetings between groups who may be in the same room, rather than the current model with meetings held between individuals who are all in different locations
Its good to see business development leading to the introduction of new products that leverage off Loopup's asset base. And in a way this does seem to be an attempt to hedge against the potential reduction in revenue as WFH decreases at some point in the future
