Market makers don’t necessarily manipulate the share price they act on demand and selling pressure. Yes they often have to close their book and neutralise it however this can be over days. What I am saying is as a fact there is a flow of stock which has been consistent in the past quarter and also not be notified to the market of who it is!!!
stew - of course you may be right we can probably never know, but your comment about MMs is wrong IMO, they may balance the books but that doesn't mean they don't buy shares for themselves or sell even non-existent shares, its only my opinion. MMs do on occasions act fraudulently, that's why there have been prosecutions in the past, for instance when their trading arm of the business did not exercise the required Chinese Walls to ensure honesty. Remember they are privy to much more information than us, including our trading habits as they see all the trades.
Of course you need to reconcile it in your own personal way, but in the absence of information it works for me and has helped me reconcile many situations, the fact that shareholders are genuinely selling as well or shorters piling in does not invalidate the premise - in fact those addition factors help explain why it works so well as a profitable MM exercise (they know what's happening).
It’s not the market makers, that’s a bit of a myth. If you look at every intraday auction you can see a loads of stock is being sold on the bid!!!! It’s real stock however it’s not getting reported in any holding rns which is the reason I think there is something dodgy going on
totally agree , still the last 7 months has seen some strange trading
Thordon - I've been trying to advise the BB for some while that the enemy is most likely the MM's opportunistically overstepping there role to provide a market and actually manipulating it to amongst other things boost activity and volatility. I can see how it could possibly be a big shareholder, except as a contributory factor.
Sadly, as I've said before the fault lies with the BoD and they need gat to grips with the actions necessary to defend the company. They can stop the rot but as yet are failing miserably to do so.
In-Long when you get a chance look at Bion next tip after ITX gave you early January
Its called selling from one broker to another broker ( in truth bouncing between the two with no real money exchanging ) illegal yes but not
Poker I do fully realise that I’m completely understand the markets. Yes there is trading churn But I have more than taken into consideration that. Fact is still heavy selling pressure and there has been for months without any notification of who it is.Look at the intra day auctions someone keeps placing 60,000 shares to sell at the bid, and this has been the case for over two weeks now already potentially hitting notifiable. I’ve never came across a stock with so few shares in issue and So few holding notifications!! I’m fully aware of trading churn thanks
Stew
You have to realise that the same % of shares get traded over and over again.....passing from one owner to the next, and the one after that...many arent held for very long at all....it isnt huge volumes of sells from key holders...
Just can’t see, how can we still sellers around ?
We’ve had months of selling pressure and no holding rns
definitely right about the ask Poker. I was looking to jump in here today when it dipped below 72 but best price i kept getting was 74. Will have a go again Monday!
The problem is the sellers...being fleeced in panicking and selling at lower prices.....there are always buyers...especially when they drop the ask ..that is what brings them in...
Sellers..get a grip....show some strength and refuse the bid ..you deserve more...dont accept less
“The drip is coming from a lack of buyers”
WRONG. Today, like many many days, there are more buys than sells but the spread is held and the UT slaps us down a notch. It’s manipulative.
