" European and UK regulators this week told banks that their efforts should focus on supporting the economy rather than shareholders."
Then it should apply to all companies, not just the banks.
British banks already pay much higher rate of corporation tax than other businesses.
The government must understand that they're private companies and have responsibillity toward their shareholders too.
And A1 no recorded shorts on Short Interest Tracker - but IG may have many punters - 70% of those lose.

lots of sthi on this board.
I know nothing - but putting together the cryptic answer to 1 across it would seem that the PRA - such a useless quango may have been the press button and with useless bailey in BOE - it got the message passed.
Who gets the blame BJ - well done uncivil service.
We may get the divi back idc
I do detest non shareholders - with their inane comments - but have to accept that kids like JR may never
It was the only sector HMG could target, seeing that it was the only sector that had to go through strenuous testing. Privatisation through the back door. Airlines, railways and then onto the utilities. Was there really a choice at the last election? Looks like we all got Corbyn after all.
So unfair of the government to target the banking sector it's investors -
12 years on from the crash past mistakes have been paid back already -
if you want banks to undertake government policy the government needs to back the banks in a way that's fair across the board -
3x Suggestions * tax on short sellers * increase stamp duty *capital gains tax
Roo - unless you have dementia we both know my 'buy the dips' slogan was in reference to Lloyds (the company) buying back share during 2018 2019 - as usual you are desperately trying to twist facts around to suit your own agenda - typical of a loony lefty
If you can keep your head when Jamesroo is losing his and blaming it on you,

But make allowance for his doubting too . . .

Cuckoo,
Unless you predicted this virus which you didn’t, stop trying to score pathetic points with what people have previously said about the path of Lloyds shares. Most shares have dropped throughout world markets if you care to bother opening your eyes. A bit like your XLM shares you were telling everyone were as cheap as chips not long ago at prices well in advance of 60p a share. You really are like a little child with your spiteful posts. Hardly befitting of a person your age. Not too late for you to grow up a little please.
Asperger 1.
DId you are didn`t you encourage people to "buy the dips"?
I do not want a reply as I know and hundreds more know the truth. But do you?
With the number of white vans on the road (they can't all be NHS/food industry workers) probably doing a cash no VAT job, I would think the self employed stole your divi.
I do hope so Trevor -
or,
How about his for a plan AHO
PI's on the register on ex divi days are offered a 0% loan to value of their missed divi's,
Secured against their Lloy holding,
Loan paid down from Lloy profits Ppi style,
When repaid the security is released
I agree with Trevor here, Lloyds could possibly pay a special divi alongside one of the 3 quarterly divis, certainly not June, but quite possibly Sept or Dec.
A1. In a few months time, IF, they are flush with cash, they are likely to pay a special divi. Calm down.

Freddie starr he passed away last May 9 2019 that was a made up stories about eating the hamster
Please! About as relevant as Freddie Starr at my hamster!
Sorry to butt in, as I used to be a holder here until last year. I think civil unrest and revolution is a distinct possibility in a lot of western countries, especially when unemployment starts to make its mark. Western governments caused the coming depression, not COVID-19, whose global deaths so far are about 1/10th of the total of those who died worldwide of flu(s) last year.
AND the ROO tells it TRUE!!!!........AGAIN!
Another great post JAMES

Asperger 1, you had you chance and blew it curley.
Remember the lie is rarely as bad as the coverup.
No offence but think before you Ramp a share. Many here know the truth, smoke and mirrors wont change what you actively promoted. You were well warned to the contrary.
Nobody escapes the truth.

When you are sold a pup, it be a pup you take home.
Suddenly it dawns that Doris cannot be relied upon, who would have believed it?
Talk of Conservatives and nationalization is treason at the best.Yes it is all se upt to lend to the Corporates by the Government at decimal point interest rates and the beauty is they have appeased society with handouts. Hence no revolution. The main problem is will the Banks, Pension/Investment funds stand idly by as they are usurped.Never, the City fat cats are made of sterner stuff and have run this Country too long to melt quietly away.
I love the NHS getting all debts wiped off .Remember if anyone can put the Health service back together it is those that took it apart in the first place.
ASPERGER as Elvis said "return to sender".Also don`t think I believe your tomfoolery to be anything less that a poor disguise of how you suckered as many as you could with "buy the dips".If anyone with gumption reads your back history ,it is not only number 10 that will get a knock on the door.
Shares put simply, you either win or lose.A man is a man for all that and doesn`t whinge when things go against him.
AGM gatecrash....? we'll still be in lockdown, so better put some names in a hat and send two shareholders..

Oxo, I think your analysis is too optimistic..lol
you might get a reply if you start with "Dear Santa..."
Asperger1, the only trouble with writing to Hollinrake is that he won't reply since he isn't our MP. I've written to Sunak and Johnson as well and they won't respond if you are not their constituents.
