I will be more than happy if they return a good and the unpaid dividend but with a much lower share price I can’t see it happening.

""I do think there is no way that the withheld dividend will be paid in full as not many firms have returned the money withheld back to share holders""
Regulators have spent ten years making the banks more resilient to another recession they are so well capitalized I don't think they needed to stop the dividend payouts it was BoE being over courses

I must be special .... joking aside I was pleasantly surprised :-)

I personally would be happy with a buy back at todays prices as long they still pay a reasonable dividend :-)

The easiest thing to do with the withheld 2018/2019 dividend 2.25p is a buyback not that I'm in agreement with this but anything think is to complicated with who gets what
How can paying a dividend be complicated? If you own shares on ex date you get it if you don’t then you get nothing. Holding shares when the dividend was suspended means nothing unless your still holding now.
I do think there is no way that the withheld dividend will be paid in full as not many firms have returned the money withheld back to share holders.
That's interesting I sent a email to but no reply
Remember a couple of weeks back, a few of us sent emails to the Bank Of England emails regarding withheld 2018/2019 dividend 2.25p
I've actually got a reply, basically saying the regulators guardrails are now fully lifted and its down to the respective Banks to decided on future dividends as long as they stay within the stress tests requirements.

City analysts think Lloyds will turbocharge 2020’s full-year dividend of 0.57p per share to 2.2p in 2021. This results in a mammoth 4.7% dividend yield
Very interesting, Livestock. Was this taken from an article? If so, any chance of a link?
Appreciate it
After a red start, not a bad finish for the day:
26-Jul-21 16:35:29 46.555 31,238,271 Buy* 15m UT
...but then from 46.555p closing price dropped to 45.555p one minute later:
26-Jul-21 16:36:24 45.555 10,975,744 Sell* 5m O
Who sold this lot at such a big discounted price I wonder? Could it be a typo?
A dividend of 2.2p for 2021 will keep me within my personal tax allowance / capital gains tax allowance

"If I remember correctly Lloyds were trading at 66p about 4 years ago"

"The sp should be in range of 50p - 55p"
Hmm, why not pre-covid-19 levels.. 65 >70…?
Afterall, you have been very vocal about how good things are….
PRA – TICK
Housing Boom - TICK
COVID Restriction's lifted - TICK
Economy recovery on track – TICK
etc, etc,etc….
how much more good news can this take!....DYOR
Hoping decent results + potential interim divi announcement will push this back up towards 50p. Have a feeling that this wave of covid is so infectious it will burn itself out ( due to sheer number of vaccines or resilience due to previous infections). The start of the end?
Maybe the FTSE is reflexing the true economy? ....both have gone nowhere in 20 years. You can't compare the Dow to FTSE, complete different animals. Dow at all time high, economy going nowhere, and no one wants to work.
Reserve Status CTRL+P - Fixed!
scb,The ftse may have been a joke for 20 years or more in your opinion but speaking for myself, overall I've done quite well out of it over that timeframe.
I wouldn't say I'm laughing but certainly smiling, (there's always room for improvement).
Tfe I'm talking general market conditions and economy - The ftse has been a joke for 20 years or more.
Just too easy to blame the UK government for the FTSE's movements when they're negative, factors beyond any government's control usually have the most influential aspects on directions.
BTW, you never see anyone praise the government when there's a rally. It's called frustration and the government are conveniently there.
Just saying.
