By-election results since the last GE: 3 Lib-Dem gains, 1 Labour gain, 1 Tory gain. All Lib-Dem and Labour seats taken from the Tories.
So while I was a tad off, it's still a 4:1 ratio of wins to losses for the Tories.
As I say, the longer he stays in control of the Tory party, the better it will be for everyone in the long run. He doesn't know how to govern, he isn't a politician, he's just a toff with a desire for power. Let's just hope he accepts the news when he is finally booted out unlike his American brother-in-arms.
"every by-election under his watch has seen the Tories get trounced"
Incorrect.
The Tories took Hartlepool from Labour and held Southend West and Old Sidcup and Bexley with Boris as PM.
The longer Boris stays in power the more likely it is that a Labour government will win the next GE. He is clearly a liability, he has a completely inept cabinet, and every by-election under his watch has seen the Tories get trounced.
The public is sick of Boris, the Tories are sick of Boris, the only people left that support him are the far-right loons and they are too stupid to realize how much he is damaging the Tory party.
The fact people on here (who claim to be Tory voters) don't realize that literally every other opposition party wants him to cling on for as long as possible is, quite frankly, hilarious. He is an "asset" alright, an asset for everyone else.
LTI,
"some of us know the real reason - 'peoples vote' Starmer and the LibUNdems do not want to face him"
Quite. And a number of the lefties on here know he is an electoral asset and so want him gone now......
mach,
"And once again, funny you single me out"
And once again, I am not singling you out, you just ALWAYS seem to be involved.
Anyway unlike you I can let things go, so unless someone makes an unfounded allegation against me (Guitarsolo) this is my last comment on the matter.
mac
''Why would I be here otherwise? ''
That is obvious
''I could easily lie even if I didn't hold any.''
That is obvious
Of course I hold shares. Why would I be here otherwise? Not that it matters because it's none of your business and I could easily lie even if I didn't hold any.
And once again, funny you single me out and not any of the vile hard-right folk on here. Is it just liberal lefties that aren't allowed to talk politics?
Hardup
Suggestion ! Your good with numbers and other , why don't you start a thread just about Lloyds and inclusive of all other shares " no politics " just what people are investing in and why .
Bum
I wouldn't be grovelling to the likes of Mach.
Mach
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
mach,
I apologised because I made the mistake of thinking an earlier post was yours when it was in fact Gazzleberry's.
I am not that interested in any political thread if I'm honest, although on occasion I do comment. The problem is they are taking over and you always seem to be involved.
This is NOT a political forum, yes we all go off topic but it is either Plato on the bloomin magic mushrooms or you and Gazz at the centre of every argument.
Just out of interest as you didn't answer my other question last night,
Do you hold Lloyds Banking Group shares?
Bumble
And which you apologized to me for. Again, funny you single out me for responding to the vile comments on here from bigots, but not to the bigots themselves. Have I made any political threads? No. I've only responded to them. Yet for some reason I'm the focus of your attention...
guitarsolo
I think you will find in this country Britons use certain words, to describe their pent-up feelings whereas those whom you like to defend do actually carry out their threats both here, in Europe, and in their home countries as recent headlines tell us. It always amazes me that the words a white man may say, inflame certain individuals more than the actual actions of the ones we must tread around.
Guitarsolo,
You certainly haven't seen any of those comments from me.
My request to mach yesterday evening was about everyone of his posts being political and NEVER anything to do with LBG or banking in general.
I have NEVER made a ****** comment on any forum.
I'll leave you to ponder Bumble. But in the past few days I've read multiple r@cist remarks, calls for people to be hung etc. As I've said, you can tell a lot about a subject by the people who are on the same side of the argument as you.
"Who in the Tory cabinet would you want to replace Boris?"
If that is the only justification for keeping him in place it is a poor reflection of our Government. 2 years to the next GE. Time enough yet. IMO if he is not cast aside by the Tories before then they have no chance of winning the next election.
Guitarsolo,
Your post of 12.34.
"There are some pretty distasteful people around."
Is this aimed at Skier or myself?
If that is aimed at me can you please explain why?

''Strange how the lefties desperately want him out now rather than at the next General Election''
some of us know the real reason - 'peoples vote' Starmer and the LibUNdems do not want to face him.
The 'peoples vote' Starmer and the LibUNdem parties appear to have an unwritten pact/agenda - witnessed in the recent by elections.
They may also have an agenda for an EU re-entry which is fair enough if stated in a manifesto, but it may be left hidden for their joint pact/agenda for after an election.
Who in the Tory cabinet would you want to replace Boris?
As bad a field as I can recall.
It puzzles me somewhat seeing all the screaming for Boris to go. Surely, you'd want him to stay in position to be an electoral liability at the next election ?? At the last election I was desperate for Corbyn to remain Labour leader as I believed it gave them no chance at poll time. Strange how the lefties desperately want him out now rather than at the next General Election.......
A lot of the ftse 100 is made up of 'value' stocks, which HAD been 'out of fashion' for many years.
Falk
''It's heart breaking to see Lloyds & FTSE are struggling''
You love it.
The Ftse 100 has been trading at about a 30% discount against MSCI for about 20 years
It's heart breaking to see Lloyds & FTSE are struggling
While some experts here thinks it's boom time.

"Boris asks MPs to show restraint in their pay increase, this coming April.Well Boris won't have to worry about that, he will be gone by April!''
lol - knives still out for Boris - lol
Opposition is Soooo desperate
Buck the trend - Back Boris
"...Boris Johnson is a big fat liar, he will ruin this country beyond belief , come autumn he will be gone"...
Plenty of studies show that "truthful" politicians rarely win. Voters forget or don't care what politicians say, as long as they have charisma and keep on handing out free cash to shouty pressure groups from the magic money tree. Boris wins on both counts.
Boris is now a hardworking family man, parachuting into Ukraine as a world statesman, with a young baby and wife to support. Voters love those optics.
To be fair, the UK has been in steep economic decline for 100+ years. There is probably nothing Boris (or anyone) can do to stop the rot. The country, at this point, is probably unfixable.
Folks have been saying "Boris will be gone" for the past 20 years... And he keeps on winning the big votes... London Mayor, Brexit, PM -- he keeps on winning... The bookies today have the Tories as clear favourites, at 4/7, to win the next 2024 election...
