Back above that 42p level after a little foray earlier. MS will have bought a few today I would think.......
Brixton
"If you was smart and sexy like me , you could also move south to the English Riviera and be happy , it's hot, midge free and .......... that will do ."
Been there, seen it, done it....no thanks! That's how I am smarter than you........that will do!

If you was smart and sexy like me , you could also move south to the English Riviera and be happy , it's hot, midge free and .......... that will do .
Dow futures down 355
Ftse irrelevant
Is that spring times or neaps ,metaphorically, hope it's not too long for Lloyd's tide to change ,so we can do some fast sailing ,pity we going across the barrier reef surrounded by rocks at the moment n a force 10 ,waiting for better weather and a clear passage, dyor.

''when the tide goes out it's a matter of time before it returns.''
about 12 hours
I am hoping the vaccine will have more strength and resistance to the virus and can win the battle,I've had 3 jabs, wish someone would give Lloyd's a booster and send it rocketing, but alas I see only a lot o problems ahead at the present moment, passing through very unstable times, when the tide goes out it's a matter of time before it returns. Just have to relax and wait for better times to come ,getting hot for traders I think.
"Dow futures down over 300 points !"
That is -1%. Not as bad as FTSE which is currently -2%.
The covid situation between now and the beginning of the pandemic is vastly different. Far more transmissible, but far less dangerous to the average person. Most people have also now either had it or had vaccinations.
I think we are at the point where we are just going to have to live with it, because I really can't see any countries opting for more major lockdowns in this economic climate. If nothing else, I just don't think anyone can afford to do that again. Could be wrong though, sh*t does seem to be hitting the fan with increasing frequency.
hb
''last time that happened we lost a divi and the sp hit 28p there you go ,what next''
You mean in a non vaccine world.
Anyone eligible in the UK has had the chance to be vaccinated - those who haven't take the chance with the consequences.
hb
''Not sure where that strength is coming from right now other than buy backs''
Only a small proportion of purchases are from buybacks
Dow futures down over 300 points !
Covid cases rising all over the world last time that happened we lost a divi and the sp hit 28p there you go ,what next ?
Not sure where that strength is coming from right now other than buy backs,so that strength is weakening fast to dip below 42 for a second time in 2weeks the drop may still happen, hope the resistance can hold up until 27th then power up on some great news ,win win either way long term one lives with hope, got to be something for Brixton there, enjoy your day.
hb
''so the weakness is still there .''
you mean the strength maintaining the 42p level is currently still there today.
Tomorrow is another day
Rating for Lloyds 52p by Barclays ??hmmm
Thanks for the info wasn't sure about that so the weakness is still there .
Below 69bn is good. Of course MS is limited to what they can buy every day but they do seem to be holding Lloyds up around this price. We shall see if that dam gets burst......
hb
''gone below 42 first time in 3 months''
went below 42p just 13 days ago
The cracks are appearing, gone below 42 first time in 3 months I believe, on thin ice now ,dyor enjoy the day.
g13
I would think that shares in issue would be below 69 Billion after the day is complete
after all the vast majority of share purchases (by rules) are not made by a share buyback programme
g13
I don't think a share buyback programme can hold back a flood of selling pressure - I would have thought it more a case of sellers getting to a limit of what they are prepared to let their shares go for on a particular day.
Atm sellers are not prepared to go much below 42p.
Tomorrow is another day.
Fingers crossed LTI,
MS seems to prop up the SP around 42p I've noticed recently so if they wanna hold it there whilst the sellers dump their holdings, get hoovering......
g13
''get busy ''
so long as there are plenty of willing sellers - should be a reasonable amount purchased today by MS
