News just out, Brussels is to make nuclear and gas CLEAN power.
They change their minds more than buffoon Johnson.
Who'd want to go back in the EU ???
Germany is in all sorts of problems due its stupid cosying upto Russia, the French economy is on the wane, Italy is going to need re-financing, the Eurozone has negative interest rates still and the whole bloc can't unite under a strategy to deal with Putin.
Sounds like Starmer has come to his senses on this now. Let's not forget his Brexit plan was to renegotiate with the EU and then campaign against the deal he'd negotiated with the EU. Never heard such nonsense in all my life. He was more confused at the time than the SNP is.......
“ Ant..."He is clearly playing a political game. A coalition would be ideal I guess so both camps can play good cop, bad cop, starmer has shown his card."
Great ! starmer laying out he's election strategy by misleading the public......a bit rich coming from mr clean and transparent....”
That’s UK politics - it’s broken, not fit for purpose.

Antony 91...so if "if we now realise it was another bozza lie " is Starmer saying he wouldnt reverse brexit.....
LTI - they would get the remain vote today now we realise it was another Bozza lie.
Fruitcake corbyn lost the labour seats not the free movement of people.

That is why the unwritten/unspoken pact is not made public.
As I said if those parties formed a coalition, there would be pressure to look at going back into the EU single market and customs union.
A referendum is not required - it would be pointless anyway, as they would simply keep having them until they got the 'right' result.
ok thanks lti...................my point in this thread was is that kier starmer dare not mention a return to free movement of people because he knows that may be deeply unpopular and in reality thats what lost labour plenty of seats ...particularly labour former safe seats in the north....

No, a referendum is optional . We did not have a referendum to join the EU (created from maastricht and lisbon treaties.)
Free movement of people comes with the single market.
“ of course not - it would be back to free movement of people”
If they work - bring them, thousands of them.
They all need to go and start a fresh.
Start from scratch.
We need to max out our current Brexit position (although I don’t agree with Brexit) and see if it can work. The problem was Boris was never going to deliver Brexit completely because he never understood it completely.
Not fit for purpose, and that goes for starmer and the rest.
lti .... correct me if im wrong (i often am ) .....to reverse our current free movement of people /immigration policy that would need another referendum ?

lti ...... im not sure the eu would allow us back into the single market/ customs union without the free movement of people...gl

I posted yesterday but it got wiped off -
The Sir 'peoples vote' Starmers party and the LibUNdems appear to some to be in an unwritten/unspoken (publicly)pact , demonstrated recently with tactical voting in the recent by-election.
The 2 parties are led on one hand by someone who didn't like the result of the referendum and wanted another vote, and the other who wanted to ignore the result altogether.
It would not be surprising if they formed a coalition government that they would take the UK back into the single market and customs union - with or without a say so from the UK voters. Highly unlikely to be in a manifesto though.
He knows if he mentions trying to reverse the current free movement of people/immigration policy he will lose imho
