Mach,
"What a moron you are TFE, honestly."
Says the moron who thinks the UK is more reliant on Russian gas than the rest of Europe. You really do make this board entertaining for some of us.......
MV @15:10
good post completely agree
Self deprivation is not allowed now by the way .
My late old man said this : if your mum goes before i do we are going to party and then let the government take £600 a week out of a rented property , plus .
TheFarEnd.
Governments here of all colours support anything that produces tax/VAT to enable them to fund the chaos they have caused over the past 4 decades of miss government and squandering of the nation's wealth on their own agendas which actually run against the wishes of the electorate or what is best for the nation. Why, we are charged tax and VAT on fuel, a double whammy?
Theosus.
The inept woman will rise again, inability never stopped any establishment figure from rising to the top.
Everyone in today's cabinet has been promoted well above their natural ability level, we do not talk of having Statesmen, just ordinary politicians.
Labour, well, they have a naturally very low, inbred ability, as do most of their supporters.
I agree skier, historically UK energy prices have been high. However the current crisis is more a market/supply issue. My point was governments do not actually set the spot price although they can certainly add additional taxes.
"...I'd like to hear your thoughts on other governments"...
The UK has for decades had just about the highest electricity prices on all of planet Earth. Under-investing, over-taxing, green hysteria. It is one reason (of many) why the UK industrial base of factories has collapsed since the 1960s. It is just too darn expensive to run a big factory in the UK.
Run your mouse or finger over this map. Prices are 2-3 times higher than the US, for example.

It don't pay to look too far ahead in that game, four years, that's a lifetime!

Well not exactly all thresholds but didn't he raise the personal allowance?
"I noted Germany are going to raise income tax thresholds"
Theosus, I thought Rishi had done that to help the low paid.
"it's actually all the media's fault for reporting on it! The media is responsible for gas prices, don't you know?"
How can the media report on something that hasn't happened yet machiismo?
It's all headline grabbing, you should know that being an SNP supporter.
But of course you will single out the conservatives for energy prices, I'd like to hear your thoughts on other governments, Russia seems to be doing ok ATM throughout this crises, being a supporter of Putin's policy's you can't criticise them, DOH!!!
