It's interesting that Phosphate gets a mention, given our Utah play, but I wonder if it might just be a red herring that prompts us to look for something that fundamentally isn't there.
Togo would in essence be a competitor to our product, I'm not even sure there's an opportunity to provide consultancy support... unless explicit non-competes were built in.
Good to hear news coming out that gives some confidence on the country moving in the right direction. I won't get excited until I see an RNS or a photo of Russell (or another Keras official) with the signed permit secured and in hand.
If this new Minister has any sense she will sign it off. Anyone spoken to or had any communications with RL recently?
Pinecone54 - What do we think was meant in para 2 ?
Thats a reference to the Israeli company that were given an exploitation permit in 2015 I think the Togolese aren't too happy about them not actually producing having given them the permit...."production has remained at the project stage"..."when the Israeli group Elenilto had received the permit to carry out this activity and exploit carbonate phosphates"
The 4th para is more apt for Keras tho: "The exploration and exploitation activities of other mineral resources will also experience a new dynamism with this government in which the ministers are bound by contracts of objectives." Fingere crossed this Dynamism extends to signing the feckin thing off.
Hahaha ;)
Yes Trade, let’s hope she just get’s it signed off quickly and doesn’t make a mila out of it.
Ooh Prop, sounds like you’ve been getting some exercise recently.
Have you been to the....Jim?
"The exploration and exploitation activities of other mineral resources will also experience a new dynamism with this government in which the ministers are bound by contracts of objectives."
I think Mila may have stumbled onto a draw full of permits that need signing off lol! maybe it takes a womans touch to get an exploitation permit in Togo. Go on Mila!
Quietly confident Mila will sign Keras of next month. Reading between the lines there has to have been some incentive for them to be flying back so quickly after the last visit, taking into consideration quarantine time here in the uk as well.
Playing the Devil’s advocate, I would infer that the Togolese government’s interpretation of the word ‘dynamism’ implies that it will take three years instead of the six to potentially approve a mining licence - 2023, then.
English Translation!
Togo First) - The creation of a phosphate fertilizer production unit is one of the priorities of Togo's new five-year roadmap, said Mila Mawunyo Aziable, Minister Delegate to the President of the Republic, in charge of Energy and Mines.
If this production has remained at the project stage since 2015 when the Israeli group Elenilto had received the permit to carry out this activity and exploit carbonate phosphates, there are reports that the status quo will not continue in this area. .
In the same vein, we learn that the wealthy Nigerian businessman, Aliko Dangote, has obtained two research permits for carbonate phosphates. The research will target the Kpomé Apéyémé area and its surroundings in Zio prefecture and the Akoumapé area in Vo prefecture.
Updating the carbonate phosphate mining and phosphate fertilizer production project is not the only priority project of the new government in the mining sector. The exploration and exploitation activities of other mineral resources will also experience a new dynamism with this government in which the ministers are bound by contracts of objectives.
As a reminder, certain measures have been considered to improve governance of the mining sector. Thus, the State Holding Togo Invest has been called upon to co-develop with Ica Invest, the project to exploit the clay deposit of Ledjoblibo, prefecture of Dankpen (about 90 km from Kara, a town located 420 km from Lomé, in the North).
A few months earlier, the process of amending the Mining Code was launched with the adoption of a bill aimed at eventually enabling the state to improve its mining revenues.
What do we think was meant in para 2 ?
“there are reports that the status quo will not continue in this area”
Aren’t we in this sector?
However, outlook promising........at least they appear to be aware of the shortcomings of “not” investing!
Here’s hoping for a successful trip!

This Luc Adjanor seems to have extensive knowledge of mining in Africa.
Ran a blog specifically on mining and metal valuation, was Head of Marketing for GB Minerals ( farming phosphate in Guinea Bissau West Africa before it merged with ITAFOS in 2017) and now has a consultation firm specialising in mining.
He is also listed on the ITAFOS analysis of their 2019 opertaions as : the qualified person responsible for reviewing and approving scientific and technical information in regard to two of their mining operations.
Quite a resume for soomeone with a large holding here .
Interesting . . . . .
Copy that TD.......... cheers bud.......!
TR1 next from Luc hopefully........ :)
All the best (shhh....... trying to quietly accumulate here....... :()
Chesh,
Shard note 09th September 2020, slide 4.

I assume he's not bought through a nominee account, hence being on the register under his own name rather than HL or similar.........!
A TR1 RNS would be required if/when he crosses the 3% threshold...........!
All the best (not seeing the holding on the website TD......? your source for info.....? :)
Gloster - I don't know but the guy is well connected and the timing is good almost too good.

The website was up and running before the Minister was in place. If anything, it's an indictment of how incapable Togo is to do even the most mundane administrative tasks. https://www.togofirst.com/en/mining/1708-6063-togo-all-mining-data-now-accessible-online
Odd to include him given its sub 3%. Is he being classed as a related party/insider?
I know its been mentioned here before but mustn't forget this Luc Adjanor fella that rocked up on the shareholders register with 112,491,001 shares equating to 2.31% in September of this year. Thats a fair bit of stock to take when you're close to an exploitation permit, timely if anything. I think he may know something, not punt money is it. In the right circles to.

Lets stick to official RNS tho. Early November is nearly here.
Yes its a cr@p website and not to be relied upon, the dates wrong 2014 etc. But could indicate that old exploration licence is no more and now being upgraded to an exploitation permit. Maybe this new minister is kicking backsides and someone came of there lunch break and switched the computer on lol
Actually scrub that as it relates to the exploration license, and we know we had to give up a large piece of that ground as part of the licensing process. However, this website is cr@p anyway as its not updated correctly.
Its coded brown, which is tagged as 'Permis non actif'. License non active. Indeed, but why, is the question we all want answered.
Beg your pardon, "Permis d´exploitation á grande échelle" would translate to "Large-scale exploitation permit" exactly what Keras is after.
And it is the Exploitation Permit that Keras is after not the research one so "Permis d´exploitation á grande échelle" sounds like the business.
