Will continue to help B&Q ETC, and more builders are reporting demand does too as house moves are being sought and there is a housing shortage. Trade and retail likely to continue in the DIY and building lines.
Well all the FT shares that got upgrades way above current value yesterday dropped (as Trumpie and co were shorting them before their prouncement I suppose) so don't despair. 1.75% blue is blue so I'm happy today

My personal insight into this would be that KGF have certainly TRIED to drag Brico & Casto forwards - the volume of resistance goes some way to explain the abject failure of ONE Kingfisher. One hopes Thierry is better able to cut through some of this and quickly. His experience in China, i believe, will see him suffer no fools if they stand between him and the French business progressing into the 21st century, FINALLY!
KGF Kingfisher, opened a long here this morning, seems from yesterdays update that people have gone mad on DIY during the lockdown.
"As announced on 17 June 2020, Kingfisher's Q2 20/21 Group LFL sales (to 13 June) were up 21.8%"
Online sales having gone ballistic and they see the trend as long term.
Company is on a P/E ratio of 13.8 going forward.

Fallingknife, I live in France and my home is my hobby. I'm sure, from years of personal experience, that Screwfix is a paragon of hardware retail, B&Q is just average and the French offerings, useless. Over many years now, the figures have reflected this. When I'm in the UK, I always buy online from Screwfix and, of course, it goes like clockwork. Here in France, online shopping is years behind the UK - take a look at ebay.fr - Nearly all the stuff comes from the UK or China. Nobody trusts the sellers or the deliverers (with justification).
Brico Depot is dire, stock figures are a joke (except when they say indisponible) and service is woeful. What amazes me is that KGF persists with this. Clearly, they know how to do better but when will the surgery start? I watch and when I see, I'll buy.
Kicking myself for ducking out too early but a bird in the hand, etc, etc. Like you say, Darkangelv2 , retail is scary at the mo and I figure they can drop like a stone once they realise how much all this Covid stuff has really cost.
Old, so you are saying there is something fishy about the results? I think it shows there is life in the old bird yet. I bet a lot of their sales have shifted online. These haven't been a good investment since I waded into them but today has clawed back a lot of the drop. It no longer looks like I have a screw loose and I don;t want to bang on about it but there seems something to build on here.
Something doesn't quite stack up. Palpable optimism in this mornings report but check out the Brico Depot website - pick any branch - the listings are peppered with "PRODUIT INDISPONIBLE". As ever, it's always the stuff I want and the shop hasn't a clue when it's arriving. You can't sell what you haven't got.
Win some, lose some - c'est la vie!
Retail still a scary environment to invest in right now!
wow ,that is a good start

Bought these a few weeks ago & been happy with the upward trajectory. However feel retail market will now take a bit of a breather while it digests impact figures arriving, so reckon there will be a retrace. Therefore have ducked out for a bit. Hope my instinct is right!
Off topic...Dixons DC. Just broke 80 p resistance. This will now rerate back above 100p be quick before the heard arrives. Good luck
Good to see some activity on here. TBH I'm a lurker on these boards as relatively inexperienced. Just registered this morning. I have held these shares since pre Covid so bought in north of £2. Bought up over the last few months and brought my average way down. I have been patiently waiting on this recovering. Do you think that's why this has been increasing day after day without any other real news?
Speculation that KGF might move to the FTSE 100 -

Just been to B&Q, was quite a pleasant experience, queued about 20 mins, the place was doing a roaring trade ie. you are not going to queue up and buy nothing, the girl on the till said she had never seen trade like it, nearly all the paint gone etc, get some shares in your trolley quick when the market opens tomorrow.
I think you are right, the home DIY needs a shot in the arm so this will obviously help but Screwfix is where the money is because it sells to the building trade which is going to be ramped up further as construction through both UK and European govt spending, is going to be the only way out of this mess. And, what is easily missed is that Europe is already starting to go back to work so the international arm is already seeing better sales. This is indeed a very good recovery play and a bid at these levels could also be attractive to bigger players.
Just got into this one. Figure we've all got time on our hands now to do stuff in the garden & the house and this is the place making it's stuff available. Got to benefit the share price I reckon.
