Mentioned Friedland name at AGM if my memory serves me right ??
I forgot Robert Friedland (Ivanhoe Mines) if there is anything to this KDR Copper (nickel, PGM)discovery. Could get interesting.
I will also throw "First Quantum Minerals Ltd" into the mix if KDR have a discovery in Northern Ireland and Japilla (in Finland) for Copper
I would agree vpkitten. Rio will want this, as will others. It sounds like they already know what the source will bring, given the profs recent comments in interviews. Also sounds like they will only entertain offers involving very serious sums of money. Its always been about finding a world class ore body and sell it to a major.
In my view (dyor) they have another lomonasov (but closer to surface) and possibly 2 big green diamond deposits. Green diamonds were found at Argyle, Ekati, lomonasov and i think Brazil somewhere. They are very scarce. I suspect when the green diamond jackpot is revealed, our £2m cap company could quickly become a £200m mid-tier company.
KDR should get Lahtojoki mining permit around start of June, given the land court meeting on 21 May. Probably take a few weeks for land survey to grant the legal force, and for Tukes to issue the permit. After that, KDR will be in a very strong position and the rush will come. When will the KDR share price start to reflect the approaching Lahtojoki permit? Perhaps in the run up, but who knows with this stock. But after the permit issues, I expect some bombshell rns's. As you say VPkitten, I anticipate outright bids, with Rio front of the line.
Things shaping up very nicely here I'm starting to think now we might see a dramatic conclusion this year don't forget the copper results are off the scale Rio will be all over this for an outright bid .
Rio Tinto (ASX, LON, NYSE: RIO) will prioritize developing new copper mines over acquiring new ones to achieve its goal of producing one million tonnes of the metal annually within the next five years, copper boss Bold Baatar has said.
Rio Tinto Group’s copper head says he sees much more value in building mines rather than buying existing assets — comments that may disappoint industry observers anticipating another spate of mining dealmaking.
The world’s second-largest mining company is looking to reach copper production of one-million metric tons within five years —
KDR ?????????
If I was a betting man I would see a new company set up for Lahtojoki mid summer and the rest taken over by Rio Tinto. Not sure what will happen with Northern Ireland. Perhaps a major mining company will join CGNR /demir due to the scale of their gold asset, and acquire KDRs Northern Ireland wing at same time. Lots of permutations, but can only see these after the Lahtojoki permit is issued
3 X BIGGER ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT 🤔🦊SOUTH ADDED
Lahtojoki was a strategic acquisition by KDR. An Irish newspaper at the time wrote it was acquired by KDR at Rio Tintos request. Though nobody really picked up on that at the time. There is a much bigger picture to emerge after the permit i suspect.
When the mining permit is issued at end of May, then the clock will start. It will be the end of a 4 year delay that has held up more than just Lahtojoki in my opinion.
Simple Billions !! BUT WE MUST NOT FORGET LAHTOJOKI AND 500sqklm Copper Nickle NORTHERN IRELAND
PUT A PRICE THE THAT ...........
100% KDR
When a major diamond discovery is made, it’s not like other commodities. Major diamond discoveries are so rare that they get taken out for a very large fee… if a diamond discovery is like lomonosov then it would be valued at $billions. A major will part with a very large amount of money to secure 100% of such an asset. What will they pay for 100% of a new diamond province?
Prof says that over in Kuhmo if we make the discovery we think we have, then it will have to be a very major offer indeed. If it is anything like Lononasov or Grib, which is what the 20+ years has all been about, then Kuhmo will be taken out for a price tag well in the hundreds of millions. A major discovery can be deciphered far earlier in 2024 than it could 20 years ago, so there is a fair chance that they already know they have it and this may be confirmed in 2024. If kuhmo is taken with a major offer, the numbers could be astronomical $$$….IMO and DYOR….i expect an interesting summer
The discovery of the green diamond down-ice, together with the abundance of G10 harzburgitic garnets, including
G10D´s, and the presence of eclogitic G4 garnets, including G4D´s, and pyroxenitic G5D garnets, all indicate a deepmantle source for kimberlite originating from the diamond stability field where diamonds are formed.
The results indicate that two of the sample locations (A5-23-01 and A5-23-03) are likely to be very close to the
kimberlitic source of the green diamond.
Garnets classified as eclogitic G3, G4, and harzburgitic
G10, especially those with a ‘D’ suffix, are regarded
as being particularly indicative of an association with
diamond. G1, G5, G5D, G9, G11, and G12 garnets
are also all classed as indicator minerals (see Table 9).
However, much of the classification scheme by Grütter
et al. (2004) is empirical, with boundaries between fields
based on the capture of 80 to 90% of grains with particular
characteristics. Consequently, G9 garnets, for example,
should not necessarily be considered to be poorlyprospective for diamonds. In fact, numerous examples
of diamondiferous kimberlites and lamprophyres contain
garnet populations dominated by G9 rather than G10
garnets (Hutchison and Frei, 2009). It is notable that the
G9/G10 ratio of Northern Territory’s Merlin kimberlitesourced garnets is close to 11.0 (Reddicliffe, 1999). Of
all reported grain analyses, G9s constitute 47% of those
falling into either the G9 or G10 fields
G10D garnets suggests they have crystallized at a minimum pressure of about 40 to 45 kbar (4-4.5 GPa). The occurrence of diamond stability field garnets (G10D) is a clear indicator of the potential of this kimberlite for diamond. The chemistry of the garnets suggests that the source for the kimberlite was a lherzolite that has suffered a partial melting that formed basaltic magma, leaving a harzburgite as a residue.
PROF SAID very technical announcement last week ,looks fantastic to me .....
Harzburgitic (G10)
Gurney (1984) correlated 85% of peridotitic garnet inclusions in diamonds from global sources with the Ca-poor, Cr-rich harzburgitic pyrope cluster 10 of Dawson and Stephens (1975) and in doing so “branded” the G10 garnet standard with which the diamond potential of exploration projects
Based on garnet compositions, the majority of the diamondiferous microxenoliths is lherzolitic (G9)
Studies of kimberlites and their mantle xenoliths provide fundamentally important information about the composition, structure, and melting history of the subcratonic mantle. Kimberlites are also economically important, as they are a major source of diamonds. Kimberlites are hybrid rocks consisting of minerals of different origins: xenogenic minerals produced by the fragmentation of foreign mantle and crustal rocks, primary minerals crystallized from kimberlite melt, and later minerals formed during the post-magmatic alteration of kimberlites. The mineralogy of individual kimberlites may be extremely variable and complex. Garnet, chromite, ilmenite, chromium diopside, and olivine occur in kimberlites in significantly higher quantities than diamonds. As kimberlite indicator minerals, they are used for diamond prospecting, as well as for the primary assessment of whether a target kimberlite is diamond-bearing or not. Thus, the interpretation of mineralogical data is essential for an understanding of both kimberlite petrogenesis and diamond potential.
Sixty garnets from a series of locations were submitted to Renaud Geological Consulting Ltd in Canada for detailed
Electron Microprobe Analysis, having been picked from till samples by Overburden Drilling Management Limited
(“ODM”) (as announced by the Company on 19 December 2023).
The Microprobe analysis resulted in the identification of nineteen G10 (harzburgitic), nineteen G9 (lherzolitic), fifteen
G5 (pyroxenitic) and seven G4 (eclogitic) garnets. The presence of diamond stability field garnets (G10D) and other
diamond-facies garnets (G4D and G5D) is a clear indicator of the diamond potential of the Kuhmo target area.
Prof mentioned in Sunday Roast midweek takeaway podcast
The garnet’s origin from diamond stability field close by from the garnets process from A5 Kuhmo ( green diamond)
If you discover a diamond stability field you have a significant discovery on your hands
This is the biggest important thing
These diamond-baring magmas of diamond-baring rocks, kimberlite or in rarer instances
Lamproites 💎🔬🇫🇮🥳
have we found the next world class province of diamonds in Kuhmo and full of fancy gems 💎
After 23 targets excavated by diggers we have proven to has not only tracked the diamond garnets and also passed them where we lost the trace.
Proven its in our back yard
Also note
The Riihivaara 26 exploration permit covers Karelian Diamond’s kimberlite (olivine lamproite) discovery at Riihivaara. Exploration permits Riihivaara 24, 24a and 24b cover the adjacent areas. The Riihivaara permits are in an emerging kimberlite field, in which the Company has to date identified 20 regional anomalies.
lamproite🤔
That’s a different location from A5
Close but different
MICRO-DIAMOND RESULTS PROVIDE CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE THAT SEITAPERÄ KIMBERLITE PIPE IS DIAMONDIFEROUS
• 67 Diamonds Recovered From 100 kg Seitaperä Kimberlite Sample
• Diamond Population Includes 61 Micro-Diamonds and Six Macro-Diamonds
• Stones Show Good Colour Characteristics And High Level Of Preservation
• Good Access And Infrastructure Enhance Overall Status Of Project
Another Project near but same area 🤔🇫🇮
Emerging province?
Great to see some positivity back here.
Seems like the question is not whether we have the credentials to deliver value but whether we trust the Prof and management team to do what is right for the wider shareholder group. A lot of people have seen their investments decimated over the past 10 years and the lack of urgency and communication, the unsavoury share issues and family appointments means the trustworthiness of the team has to be questioned.
Naturally, I hope this is the end game and success is in sight but I'm not counting my chickens yet.
Fair enough but the most important part of Lahtojoki is shareholders will 💯see a return on their investment
That could be as close as June 24
The others assets am sure will also yield a return has yet to be confirmed officially
Either will show our investment was spot on and as painful as this has been, holding and bringing your averages down when everyone else is abandoning ship will pay dividends 🇫🇮
As NPV is 8%, I think £2.15 per share is probably quite a bit for Lahtojoki. Probably in the region of 50p per share is more realistic based on Lahtojoki alone. Not of course taking into account all the other projects. Personally I'm here for Kuhmo and Ireland as they are gamechangers. Hopefully once Lahtojoki becomes a mine and starts generating them an income it'll get the ball rolling faster on the other projects. But most likely JV will be the simplist solution for KDR for most if not all of their viable projects.
-60/70 % 🥴
A preliminary economic assessment (PEA) at Lahtojoki 2017, based on a non-JORC resource of 2.25m carats, estimated the deposits contained value at $225m, with an NPV8 of $39m, enough to support a 9-year mine life. Capital costs come to a modest $22m
Knowing Mr Brannon history on diamond a very conservative PEA
Correct me if wrong but that equates to £2.15 a share @ 105 mil shares issued 🤔
Very small but very profitable and it’s past proven
After 21st June that’s a concrete reality when the full permit get’s issued
💯 convinced Kuhmo will return at least two diamond mines but suspect a province if my research is correct and with the amount of Garnets reported In nearly all our past releases ,we are almost certainly there????only my opinion, remember we know from last week’s announcement and 23samples in our backyard!!
Northern Ireland been so successful in sediment exploration and results from ODM Canada
500sqklm 😵💫
KDR has now or is reviewing
Jappila which is very close to our Liperi license in southeast ,
More Copper and base metals 🤔
Folks think let’s get out of the gravy’ 🚂 as soon as I can get my money back .
60/70 % on investment and some even more
While others build for the Finnish Line
We she’ll see !🤔🇫🇮🇮🇪💎
